Naysa's motorcycle came to a stop and she took out the address card. She then looked at the apartment before her where the black cars she had already gotten used to were parked. She walked in.
"Where is he?" Naysa asked Stenson.
"In the room." He replied. They all stood alert as Naysa looked at the card again and walked towards the elevator. She got in, pressed the rook number and waited. Soon it stopped and she got out and walked into the room. Jemmy stood there waiting.
"How are you... Umm... Am here now.." Naysa stammered as just looked at her calmly.
"Am fine." He said and walked to the window.
"Why are we here?" She asked.
"Because I got this apartment room for you. I want you to be staying here from not till you graduate. I'll take care of everything." He said while still looking out.
"What? Why would you do this... I mean, am nothing to you. Besides, am comfortable at school... I'll be lonely here." Naysa said, wondering why he was concerned about her.
"You won't." Jemmy said and just then, a white hairy puppy with big black eyes ran in. It looked at Jemmy who looked calm but intimidating, the at Naysa whose mouth hung open in shock. Then as if contemplating who to ran to, it ran to Naysa. Naysa looked at the cute puppy and she couldn't just resist it. She picked it up and turned to Jemmy.
"What's it's name?" She asked.
"You'll give it one." He said.
"Pearl." Naysa roughed it's fluffy fur and the puppy lay on her chest, looking at her face.
"Mr Jemmy Grant's, why are you doing all this to a girl you've just know not more than six months ago? Why are you being this nice to me?" Naysa leaned on the wall and looked around the room. It was luxurious with soft large sofa seats. This was too good of him, she thought.
"Because I love you." Jemmy went straight to the point, looking deeply into her eyes.
"Me?" Naysa coughed, looking at him with shock. In a span of not more than two hours, two people had expressed their love to her. Huh! He's a few minutes late than Ridden, she thought, almost regretting everything that was happening. How will she be able to handle all this?
"Umm... You're joking right? I mean, you're far beyond my level. Am far below that, you see? Umm... You can meet more beautiful ladies your type, and who are better off than me. Am just a student."
Now Jemmy didn't say anything and Naysa felt embarrassed. Why did I say all those? Now... Stop looking at me and say something. She thought and coughed.
"Umm... That was an expensive joke you made." She laughed awkwardly but Jemmy didn't say anything. "Umm... Your aura is intimidating." She tried to joke, it wasn't a joke either, she felt she couldn't have said that.
"Am sorry you feel intimidated." Jemmy said.
Stenson, who had brought Pearl and has been eavesdropping almost coughed out blood. Heavens did you hear that? Boss just said sorry... Ooh my goodness! Where can I faint? This shock is too much! He screamed inwardly to himself.
"Umm... No... I didn't mean that, I mean..." Now Naysa wanted to curse herself. You made the god in business, the handsome CEO, the great son from the Grant's lineage say sorry? That's not good of you. Naysa scolded herself as she patted Pearl. She dared not look at him
" The great CEO Jemmy Grant's, am just a student. Besides, I don't just trust your confession." She said.
"I know.... And you don't have to. That only means I have to do something more to win your trust." He said. Naysa half closed her eyes and looked at him. Which sort of a joke is that? She thought.
"Follow me." He took her hand was heading to the bedroom. Naysa pulled her hand roughly.
"Hell no! What do you think you're doing?" She looked at him wide eyed. Is he just pulling me to the bedroom? All this rich men are scam and I won't fall for him. Why me? Aah... My poor self.
"It's no what you think. I want to show you something." He said and walked ahead. Embarrassed, Naysa ran after him, still hugging Pearl. What I thought wasn't right? Huh!
Naysa looked around the bedroom, the king size well arranged bed, the soft carpet, the bedside table. Her eyes caught the roses on the bedside table and she counted them by heart. Nineteen. Aah... Why such an odd number?
"Naysa Haven, am a great man yes, but money, wealth and power doesn't define a man, but his heart to love, cherish and treasure the people who makes his life beautiful." He said and sighed. It took him all his breathe to say that small statement. As he observed Naysa's behavior since they first met, he knew she wasn't someone who would easily fall for anyone, so if he doesn't put on more effort, then he would loose her. He put aside his pride and said it.
Naysa sighed and bit her lower lip...
