An Interestig Story

That evening, Donald drove towards his favourite bar with a calm smile on his face. He tapped his index finger on the steering wheel as the car came to a stop. He came out and took a whole minute to stretch his body to elastic limits. The hospital had been boring today and more than that—it was tiring.

He massaged his shoulder for a bit before taking out his phone—which had just thrown a notification tone at him. It was a message from one of the boys. "Where are you dude? Are you going to bail like Ramon?"

Donald put his phone away with a slight smirk. Ramon had never bailed on their night outing at any point. He was really zealous about proving to him that he was more dominant and could pick up more girls.

Donald shook his head with a weak smile and walked in gingerly. Henry and Jack were waiting at a table at the far end of the bar. He waved at them and hurried over.

They slapped hands together. "Man I thought you'd be a no show." Henry smiled broadly.

"You know I never back out of a challenge." Donald said and sat down. He pulled a glass to himself and joined the drinking game.

Jack smirked. "Had another rough day with your Dr Harris?"

Donald wiped his mouth and raised a finger at him. "Don't go there, Jack."

The two snickered. They knew how long and hard Donald had been working to get her but she was always elusive. It was because of his constant failures that made Ramon keep his eyes and hands off the doctor.

That and the fact that Donald claimed that she is 'off the market'. "I wonder what it would take to strike her down."

Donald scowled at them and drank more beer. "Don't talk about it! You don't know her and I don't intend to discuss her with you."

Donald's voice had an edge to it. He had never talked about Priscilla to the bunch and he didn't feel comfortable talking about her to them. He was contented to keep his feelings to himself.

Henry and Jack raised their hands in surrender. "Taboo topic, we get it."

"Good," Donald said and gestured to Henry with his glass. "Why did Ramon bail?"

Henry shrugged lightly and took a gulp from his bottle. "No idea man. He…"

"Who said I backed out?"

Jack choked on his drink and turned back slightly to look at Ramon. He choked again on his words as his eyes scanned Ramon…or accurately, what remained of him.

Ramon—who was the most muscular of the four and the fittest—now looked haggard and weak. His bearing was off the books and his eyes were puffy. He looked like he aged in less than two days since Henry and Jack last saw him.

His hair was unkempt and he looked to have added a few pounds. The others were too shocked to make a comment. It took a while before Donald cleared his throat and said, "Ramon, what happened to you?"

Ramon glared at each of them before forcefully snatching a bottle of beer from the table and slumping down into the empty seat. "It's a long story."

Jack recovered also and checked his time. "We have all night, man."

"You really want to know?" Ramon asked.

"Yes."

"Of course"

"Why not?"

Ramon sighed bitterly and rubbed his temple. He would give anything to not tell this embarrassing story but he felt it was his duty to warn his friends so they'd be careful in the future. He drank a mouthful of beer and used it to swish around his mouth.

"It all started with a woman…"

Ramon paused when the others huddled closer to him as if he was about to tell a moonlight legend. He shook his head at them. "Can't you just sit back?"

"We can't, we want to get every word of it."

Donald wanted to add that he had already turned on his phone recorder but he stopped. If he said that then Ramon wouldn't want to share his story. He wanted this moment to go down in history.

He pressed his palm on the table and sat back with a relaxed expression. "Tell us then."

Ramon nodded and continued. "It started two days ago when I left you guys at the bar and was headed home. I was walking along the side of the road and I met this lovely angel, she is so pretty that I almost tripped on my own legs.

"At the very sight of her, I felt my third leg stand on end…"

"Or your tail…"

The other two glared at Jack who raised his hand in apology. "Continue."

Ramon went on; his expression kept warping with every sentence he made. "I wanted to hit on her and she was easy, no problems at all.

"We talked and she told me she doesn't like much talking. I invited her to my house but she declined and asked me to come to hers. Of course as a gentleman I didn't refuse…"

"Or as a womanizer gentleman…" this time it was Henry who spoke up. The others directed their glares at him and he gulped the remaining words down.

"We drove in her car," Ramon continued. "We arrived at her house but she didn't even give me breathing space. She seemed like she wanted to tear me up like a hungry tiger.

"I was glad I had met someone who could finally match up with my libido. She was fierce and so was I. I quickly carried her in my arms to the bedroom, kicking the door open on our way…"

Donald raised his hand slightly, "sorry, but is this detailed explanation really necessary?"

"I think it adds mystery to the story." Jack said.

"And it makes it more intriguing," Henry supported. "I mean, who wouldn't want to know what led him to such a sorry state?"

"Are you guys going to listen or not?" Ramon slapped the table and the other three nodded like chickens pecking at rice grains.

He sighed and arranged his words as he prepared to begin his story.
