Venereal Disease

Once again, Alina took a deep breath. "That's impossible, Yu."

"Really?" Yu frowned. "So, not everyone can join the program just like that?"

"That's how it is."

Alina stood up, put the tablet in her hand on the stainless steel table, she slowly stepped around Yu.

"The five thousand people transported by The Ark-01, 02, and the forthcoming ones, 03. They are the chosen people who have gone through even more strenuous simulation sessions than what you've been through."

"Ah," Yu nodded. "I see!"

"And," Alina looked at the man's face. "They are from the elite, Yu."

"Of course…"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to—"

"Hey!" Yu chuckled. "It doesn't matter. I'm used to it, right? So don't feel bad for me, Alina, please!"

After all, from what Alina said, Yu knew that the people who were sent with The Ark-01, 02, and the upcoming The Ark-03, were starting a new colony of humans on an alien planet. This also means that those who participate in each group are chosen people who are expected to be able to build a new civilization on a new planet.

Of course, thought Yu, the chosen people here meant only those from the elite. Quality humans in the eyes of their people. It would be impossible for them to take people from castes below them. Except, like Yu himself who will be going on a suicide mission.

Alina tries to smile. They had only been together three days, and she felt so comfortable talking to the man. He's not selfish, he's not arrogant, and he's not easily offended instead of angry.

Aah, if only, Yu… Alina took a deep breath.

"Oh, I almost forgot," said Yu later.

"Forgot?" repeated Alina. "About what?"

"Yesterday," said Yu. "I was walking around—you know, I was trying to take your advice."

"Okay?"

"I don't see a building—say something that houses the elite. Is that what's going on here?"

Alina smiled. "Well, you're right. We don't live within The Wall, Yu."

"Ah, I see?"

"We have our Wall which is free from all kinds of noise like in this city."

"Aah," Yu nodded. "Believe it or not, that's what I was thinking yesterday."

"You must want to find me," said Alina. "Am I wrong?"

"Exactly, Miss Alina. Exactly!"

Alina laughed softly in response. "You are crazy!"

Yu laughed too. "I found a large plot of land with one large building with the same name, Akimura."

"Aah, so you've seen the area, huh?"

"Yeah," said Yu. "What facilities are in that building? I also saw a fairly wide airstrip there."

"That facility was prepared for you, Yu."

"For me?"

"Yes," Alina nodded slightly while still looking at the transparent screen on Yu's left. "Inside that building, there is a vehicle that will take you to that Black Hole."

"Ah, is that so, huh?" Yu nodded.

"You didn't try to get into that area, didn't you?"

"No," replied Yu. "I didn't dare."

Alina laughed softly while shaking her head. She wasn't making fun of Yu, quite the opposite. She praised the man who did not want to enter a place without permission first.

Isn't this very rare in today's life? thought Alina.

"I was just sitting, relaxing on the edge of the lake near the area."

"Ah, I see…"

"Well, there's nothing I can do. Wouldn't it be better if I calmed myself while enjoying the free air?"

"Yeah, you're right. It's a good thing to reduce stress during your training sessions."

"That's what I meant. After all," Yu smiled wryly. "I didn't bring a penny with me," Yu even laughed at himself.

"Oh, Yu," Alina smiled as she took a deep breath. "I wish you had asked me earlier."

"No, it's okay," Yu said then he cleared his throat. "Perhaps that would be better for me. You know, I'm scared of catching some kind of disease—well, something to do with the genitals. Yeah, that's how it is."

Alina smiled again as she looked at the man's face, then at his bare, muscular chest, and ended up a little longer at something under the man's shorts.

Hmm, is Yu having an erection? thought Alina. If not, then he must have something unusual behind his shorts.

Oh my God… what was I thinking?

Alina looked away immediately, returning to the large screen on Yu's left. Her face reddened. She cleared her throat a little to neutralize the nervousness that had appeared in her for a moment.

"Hmm, that's good," said the beautiful doctor with a little stutter.

"Good?" Yu repeated with a frown, not about the words themselves but more about Alina's nervousness that sounded in his ears.

"Well," Alina took a deep breath and tried not to be tempted by something that was in the man's crotch. "Isn't that a good thing? You who keep your body from contracting venereal disease, which could endanger your life? That's something really good, Yu. How many people have lost their lives for the same reason?"

"Yeah, I guess so," said Yu. "You know, when I decided to go out forever from that dungeon I met a lot of people dying of venereal disease. I don't know—I mean, it disgusts me. Sorry."

"That's what I meant," said Alina, she was quite happy to be able to divert her attention from the man's crotch. "You know, long ago, every time a new drug was discovered for one type of venereal disease, then a new type of disease would appear. It's always been like that."

"Yeah, you're right. After all," Yu smiled and thought that Alina wouldn't see that smile. "I just want to make love to the girl I like, not the girl I pay for."

"Ow, Yu," Alina giggled softly. "You're so cute."

"Thank you," Yu shook his head with a big smile. "Unfortunately, the girl hasn't been born yet."

Alina almost laughed out loud at the man's words. "Come on now, Yu!"

"Where?" asked Yu who deliberately teased Alina. "Where are you taking me, Alina?"

"Hey!"

"Okay, okay," Yu stifled a laugh. "Are my expectations too high?"

"Yu," Alina took a deep breath. "It's not about caste differences, Yu. More than that."

"Destiny?" said Yu, guessing directly what Alina would say. "Is that what you mean?"
