Unequal Thoughts

"The point is," said Alina, "there is no power that can stop the activity of a Black Hole, except itself."

"What about the White Hole?" Yu asked. "Hmm, I've read an article about that. They say White Hole is the opposite of Black Hole. Is that true?"

"Well, about the White Hole, it's still a hypothesis, it still needs ongoing proof."

"Oh, is that so, huh?"

"Then," said Alina, "how are you there now? You didn't fly too close to that Black Hole, did you? Or, are you planning to enter the Black Hole instead?"

Yu chuckled as he looked at the amazing celestial object in front of him. It was so huge, that he couldn't measure it, and he felt a constant pull toward the supermassive object.

"No," said Yu later. "I was just trying to find something interesting about this shimmering-looking cosmic dust. Like a smooth road that is wide and very long."

"Well, that's good. I mean, before your real goal is done, don't die first, not the Black Hole you see now that's your real goal!"

"Damn!" Yu chuckled. "Either what you say is true, or you're just playing a prank on me. Oh, God…"

Alina laughed hearing that, she shook her head before finally returning to her seat, on the right side of Yu's position lying on a special chair.

"Come on, Yu, cheer up!"

Yu laughed. "But I'm happy."

"Happy?"

"Because you sound better than before."

"Hey!"

"Sorry, I just saw the sad thing on your face earlier, Alina. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be presumptuous."

"Thank you. However, I don't like to talk about my personal matters to other people."

"Is that so, huh?" Yu said. "But it's not fair, you are so freely asking me this and that. While you're keeping yourself a secret from me."

"Come on now, Yu," Alina smiled in her deep breath. "I'm your supervising doctor, of course, I have to know everything about you."

"Yeah, you have a good point," Yu smirked. "I thought you really needed someone to talk to."

"Oh my…" the young doctor shook her head, "and I have to be stuck here watching you babble."

Yu chuckled. "Sorry, one of your bad luck. There's nothing I can do about it."

Alina couldn't help but smile.

"Come on, Alina. There's nothing wrong with sharing—I mean, sharing stories. Who knew this would actually give you peace of mind, right?"

"Since when did you turn into a psychiatrist?"

Yu just laughed in response to the beautiful young doctor's question. And Alina also knew that the man was not easily offended by what other people said about him.

Yeah, he's actually a nice guy, Alina thought.

"Tell me about life in the Land of Java!"

Yu smiled, he knew that Alina was deliberately changing the topic of their conversation. But, he couldn't force the girl.

"Equally nothing special," said Yu. "I was forced to be homeless after arriving on the island of Java. Just like the others. I think I was quite sorry at the time. But I can't do anything. After all, that luxurious underground chamber is already buried, filled with sand."

"But on the island of Java life is even more sadistic," said Alina. "Well, at least, that's what I often hear. Can you survive all that? Gosh… of course, you survived. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here right now."

Yu laughed again. "Oh my God, Alina. You see? You better just talk to me! What made you a little different today?"

Alina smiled with her head lowered. "You're still trying to tease me."

"Of course," said Yu. "As long as you are not angry, I will always do the same to you. Didn't I say that before?"

"Yea, yea, what a bitch of a virgin!"

Yu laughed heartily.

"Nothing is interesting about me, Yu."

"Yeah, right!"

"I mean, from the story you wanted to hear."

"Hmm, I doubt that!"

"You stubborn bastard!" Alina laughed silently.

"Then?"

"In the next few days, we will be married."

"Wow…!" Yu at once felt disappointed to hear the doctor's words. "Isn't that something to be happy about?"

"Yeah, that's how it should be."

"Then?" Yu asked. "Why do you look—I don't know, reluctantly?"

"Finding a household is everyone's dream, Yu."

"Yeah, I know that."

"It's just that if you were forced to marry because of your parents' traditions, and your future husband is someone who likes to play with other women, you will understand what my thoughts are right now."

Yu took a deep breath. But, isn't this a common thing? At least, Alexander himself often said this: As long as you like and your partner likes, you are free to make love anytime, anywhere, with anyone.

And, shouldn't Alina also understand this? The behavior of the elite is not much different from the lowly people, only different in the situation and place.

"I'm sorry," Yu said later.

"No," Alina took a deep breath. "I know," she said, "you must think that all men in this world are the same."

"Well, that's what I thought, regardless of whether they are from the elite or commoners like me."

"I know life today is free," said Alina. "You want to do this and that, want with anyone, no one will stop you."

"That's what I heard from Alex."

"But, have you ever thought?" said Alina. "That, not everyone has the same thoughts. Like me, for example. I just want to build a household based on love—even though this marriage happened because of an arranged marriage. But I'm sure, love will come between us later."

Yu let out a long smooth sigh. Understand now what kind of girl Alina is. If that was the case, Alina must have been quite tormented by her fiancé's demeanor which from Alina's own words, Yu could imagine what her fiancé's character was like.

"And yesterday afternoon," said Alina with no enthusiasm at all. "When I came home from reporting your objections to Mr. Akimura, I again found that my fiancé was having sex with another woman."

Yu returned a long sigh. Well, maybe Alina's fiancé thought that Alina would be in this facility as long as usual. Unfortunately, yesterday Yu was not fit for the simulation session. That means, Alina came home earlier than usual.

If that's the case, Alina's fiancé must have often done the same thing when Alina was at work.
