Suspicion

Yu was still gasping for air as he leaned against the door inside the computer room, his chest rumbling, his heart beating as if he couldn't control it.

"Oh my God… Oh, God, what was that?" He rubbed his chest to calm the feeling that was raging in his chest.

He deliberately didn't go to his room because he who had slept for a long time before, wouldn't be able to fall back to sleep quickly if he forced himself to lie down on his bed now. The goal is none other than to dispel the shadow of what Shanti has just done to him, by reading some news online, perhaps.

Or at least, Yu did hope so.

After he could control his breathing, Yu stepped closer to the computer he had been using for the past week.

After more than ten minutes he was in front of the computer screen, then Yu could forget the incident in the hallway leading to the dining room with Shanti earlier. The news milling about on the internet is more interesting now.

Yes, of course, about the mass heart attack event. Even today, more and more people are victims of something that is not yet known.

At least not by the common people. Yu is pretty sure that elites and scientists know exactly what happened—though not all heart attacks end in death.

Uniquely, from some articles, Yu found an interesting and frightening fact, namely the fact that the victims were dominated by men, ninety-nine point ninety-nine percent of the victims were men.

Yu even shuddered, the victims were not only those over the age of 30 but also children.

Isn't this something odd?

Something suspicious?

Heart attacks are usually experienced by those who are adults, and of course, are caused by many factors. Whether it's an irregular and unhealthy diet or a lifestyle that ignores the fact that the heart needs rest, consumes certain drinks and drugs, and so on.

At least, this is what Yu thought.

In just three days, 2.5 million people have died in all corners of the Earth, from the same 3 million cases. And one million others died in different cases but occurred at the same time. Such as acute complications due to congenital diseases, and so on.

"Fuck!" Yu muttered as if to himself. "Are they blind to all this?"

Yu tried to find information, maybe there was a comment regarding the cause of this very strange event, at least for Yu himself.

However, for nearly two hours Yu searched every available news site, even articles from freelance writers—which Yu himself didn't know who the author was—he still couldn't find a satisfactory conclusion.

Most of the answers he found were simply due to unhealthy lifestyle factors. Then, the food and drink factor, then the age factor.

"Bla-bla-bla… nonsense!" Yu snorted loudly as he leaned his back.

He massaged his dizzy forehead and sore eyes, and sore neck after his online search for the strange cause of death for millions of souls.

Among the hundreds of articles he had read—or simply seen the titles of the articles—Yu was attracted by a comment on a news article. The news portal belongs to the government, aka the elites.

Just one sentence made Yu think for a long time.

'Don't use the Healer!'

"Could the magic serum be the cause?" Yu muttered, asking himself.

Then he looked at the account name of someone who commented on the article.

"F4ky0-69…" Yu said almost laughing.

Maybe it's just a casual user, he thought. However, the sentence that the user wrote—for one reason or another—Yu felt that it was the right answer. The real answer to the mass heart attack that killed so many people.

"Well, that seems to be true to me!"

The Healer could be said to have been used by everyone from the elite, young and old, women and men. Also, almost ordinary people are vying to get the magic serum.

So, this seems like a more plausible reason. Yu took a deep breath.

"Wait a minute!"

But, something is strange here!

Why are the heart attacks only experienced by men?

"Argh…!" Yu squeezed his head.

He just seemed to have found the answer to all the events, but suddenly everything seemed to be refuted with almost no female victims, except for those who died from hereditary diseases, and acute complications, even at the same time—in the past three days.

Yu leaned back again with his face looking up at the ceiling, hands drooping by the armrests. Again he massaged his forehead which felt even dizzier.

"Fuck!" he muttered. "Why should I pay attention to this matter? This is not something I can deal with my brain!"

After all, in the morning he will leave Earth with all the problems and chaos of life behind.

Yu glanced at the digital time marker in the lower right corner of his computer screen. 01:12:30 AM.

Yu gasped to himself, he had been in the room for a long time, in front of the computer screen.

No wonder my head felt dizzy and my eyes stung, he thought.

In the end, Yu turned off the computer. He half lazily stepped out of the room, as soon as Yu came out, the lights in the room automatically went out by themselves.

In fact, Yu was thirsty and wanted to get a bottle of water from the kitchen. However, the previous incident with Shanti replayed in his head, and it made Yu worried. Worried that Shanti would still be there, he was afraid he would not be able to refuse a second time.

So Yu just continued his steps to his room.

Arriving at his room, Yu found a can of energy drink that was still half left. Even though it wasn't the kind of drink he wanted, Yu still drank it to quench his thirst.

And after that, Yu threw his body on the bed. He could not immediately fall asleep, his thoughts returned to the articles he had read earlier.

"If not the Healer," he muttered, "then what was the cause of all that? The events of these three days are no longer mere coincidences. Two and a half million dead, this is not a small number!"

Or… maybe Earth did all of this?

Yeah, that's for sure!

Natural conditions are getting worse over time, and the damage has been evenly distributed in every part of the Earth's surface, nature must have fought back against human bad behavior.

But, what do I care?

After all, in just a matter of hours, I will leave you, my dear Earth. Maybe for good. I don't know...
