Human Arrogance

That afternoon, Yu tried to relax by taking a walk around the facility building belonging to Akimura Tech. Sleeping in the room all the time is boring and makes his body achy, especially around the back.

Alexander stood straight with his hands on his waist, he looked at Yu with a big question in his eyes.

"Hey," said Alexander. "Don't tell me—"

"Yup!" said Yu. "Thanks to you. I was scolded by Alina this morning."

Alexander chuckled as he shook his head. "Damn you!" he said. "You're blaming me instead!"

"Who else?"

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," Alexander said without knowing the truth. "Then what happens? I mean, that pretty doctor isn't really mad, is she?"

"No," said Yu. "I was the only one who wasn't in a fit condition to undergo the simulation. You know, Alina was afraid her tools would have a bad effect on me."

"Aah…" Alexander nodded before continuing his work. "I think it's because I told you about the serum."

Yu smiled, his hands in the front pockets of his pants while watching what Alexander and a colleague were doing.

"No," said Yu. "It has nothing to do with the serum. But, I did ask Alina about it."

"Then, does that beautiful force you to use the serum?"

"No, she considered my objection to the use of the serum. And will report this to Mr. Akimura."

"If she hears you," said Alexander. "She will definitely turn into that monster you say!"

"Alright, man," Yu said after they had their fill of laughter. "I'd better go back and leave the two of you with your work."

"Alright," Alexander raised one hand, also with his partner.

Yu had dinner alone, as usual. Sometimes he thought, could this large and spacious building have a ghost? If there was, he would have run away in fright.
