The Last Demon Slayer

A loud banging sound could be heard from the trunk of an old car that was parked inside an abandoned warehouse. The inhumane rocking of the car was accompanied by a muffled scream. "Shhh... Be quiet..." One said as she slowly opened the trunk and pulled the poor lady out from it. The two suspicious characters that were wearing clown masks tied the poor lady in the middle of the floor where a big pentagram was scribbled. "MSHGGSKKSSSSH!!!!" The poor lady made a desperate attempt to scream but it was to no avail. One of her assailants had the heart to remove her gag but the first thing that she asked as soon as it was removed was, "Is this a prank??? I know it was you, Cassie. That shirt is mine." As soon as she heard her name, Cassie removed her mask. "Ana, don't panic. We will just exorcise you, okay? Calm down. After all of this is done, we could just all pretend that none of this ever happened in the first place." "What?!!!!!! You're crazy, Cassie!" "NO! Look, you tried to strangle me with a belt last night. But don't worry because I don't blame you for that. You were possessed and right now we will exorcise that demon out from your body." "No-----mmmpphhhh" Before the lady named Ana could even speak another word of protest, Cassie already gagged her again with that same piece of cloth that they used before. "So what are we gonna do next?" "You have to pee on her?" "No way! I would never pee on my best friend! Jared, that's insane!" "Then let us just all forget about this whole exorcism thing then because it was clearly written here. Instruction No.1. You have to mark the subject with your own scent." Eureka! I knew it...

Jared was tossing around his bed as sleep seemed to elude him on that particular night.

He had been thinking about his encounter with the girl at the bar and regardless of how hard he tried to put it at the back of his mind, he simply could not shake the feeling of familiarity that he sensed from the other party.

Her face kept on appearing on his mind whenever he tried to close his eyes.

He knew that there was something about that girl that drew his curious self out. However, he could not put a finger on what exactly it was about her that made him feel that way.

"Eureka!"

He blurted out as soon as the realization dawned on him and he bolted straight to his bed. At this point, recognition was written all over his face.

~~~JARED'S POV~~~
If I would not address this concern that had been bothering me since last night, I knew that there was no way that my mind would be at ease again.
That was my issue; once my thought ended up being tangled upon something, it has to be dealt with and resolved no matter what the cost. Otherwise, my mind would just keep on hanging around it; unable to move forward.
Likewise, if my memory was not failing me yet, which most certainly would never be the case, I believed that the girl that I saved in the park was the same little girl that I saved years ago from a demon attack.
Well, just don't ask me how I managed to recognize her; because I am not sure either. I just knew! At the same time, there was something peculiar about that mortal girl.
SHE COULD SEE WHAT OTHER CAN'T!
It was also at this point that I came to finally realize why those demons were after that mortal before.
For some unknown reason, she seemed to be capable of seeing the true form of those demons, despite the fact that they were hiding inside a human body.
It was probably due to that reason why they wanted to get rid of her. As long she was around, no demons would be able to rest easy.
She was a threat to their existence because she could expose their identity.
"We could make good use of her talent."
Rico told me when I told him about the girl. As such, I was here, back again at the same parking lot where I fought a guy that was possessed by a demon.
I am waiting for this controversial girl to appear.
If she was curious enough to check this place again after what happened last night, then it's confirmed.
She could be the one we are looking for all these years.
.....AND.....
There she was...
' I knew it.'
I thought to myself and the side of my lips could not help but quirked up a little.
I happened to be resting at a nearby building situated right next to the parking lot when I spotted the girl.
The building was under construction at the moment and was quite high, with an altitude enough to break the bones of a normal human body. However, it was still not high enough to faze me.
I was able to jump straight from it and landed on my feet with ease as though it was nothing. As soon as I saw her walking towards the park, I descended down the pavement and hid in the meantime.
I wanted to observe her first from a distance, but at the same time not that far from where she was either. I wanted to see her closely. So I approached her from behind.
As expected, she had no idea that I was there.
With my experience of hunting demons, I learned how to conceal my presence very well that one would not be able to notice my presence if I did not want them to know. Unless, of course, if they have a keen sensibility on their surroundings. Just like the demon who possessed the guy at the bar.
"Gotcha!"
I caught her off guard and I saw her jumped on her feet the second she heard me spoke behind her.
With a swift maneuver, she turned on her heels and came face to face with me. The girl was taken aback when I approached her out of nowhere, but she was able to recover her composure in no time.
With hurried steps, she took a few steps back as she was determined to put a safe distance between us.
However, I was obviously way faster compared to her and before she could even realize what was happening, I was already able to close our gap.
The moment her foot landed for her last step, I took a dash, and with just a blink of an eye, I was already standing right next to her again.
