CHAPTER FOURTY

Darius teleported them to another place. He saw Norman sitting down looking dejected. "I’ve seen the news", Norman announced. He pointed to the television and they saw a live view of the portal. Demons in millions trooped out of it. They hadn’t started attacking yet but Alice knew it won’t be long.

"We can’t just give up" Maggie urged them. "Look at that" Norman said pointing to the images on the television. "We stand no chance." They watched as the government sent troops immediately with fighter Jets.

"They stand no chance" Darius said pitifully. "Their weapons would only make the demons stronger. Demons get stronger in fire. That’s all this people can do. Give them hell, sadly they’ll enjoy it."

"For what it’s worth" Norman said looking straight at Darius. " I’m sorry for what I did. I went too far to side with your sister. I knew if she had succeeded she would have killed me too."
