A day with Liyah

Liyah and I took a car to the shopping center near the school. We stopped in front of the entrance and I pulled out my wallet. After paying the driver we walked under the arch and started looking through the shops. The shopping center was outdoor and was famously one of the bigger malls. "Wow it's my first time in this huge place" Liyah commented. Liyah is from the Crafter house. They're not senators but they are still very respected amongst the commoners. Unlike the raven house which are fallen Senators the Crafter house are commoners that started their own business and have become moderately successful. "Yeah, I've been here a few times but it's still surprising how big this place is." I agreed and started walking. We passed a variety of shops from tech or appliances to accessories and clothes. "Here let's get some stuff to decorate your room" Liyah suggested stopping in front of a house decor shop. We entered the shop and grabbed a basket. At first she insisted on holding it, but gave up once she saw me levitate the basket. We put different frames, paintings, throw pillows, and lamps. We also decided to get shelves and a pin board for the both of us. I grabbed a comforter and a calendar as well. Everything I got had a theme of blue and grey, and the things that Liyah wanted had a theme of a blush color. We got a lot more than we thought, but luckily the basket had a spell where it made everything fit in it and it wouldn't get heavier. Once we finished, I suggested that I pay for everything here only if Liyah will pay for the groceries and the ride home plus putting away the groceries. "Sure" she said and we finished paying for all the decorations.

After that we bought some groceries and snacks at the nearby market and decided it was about time we went home. Once we brought everything home I slouched on the couch. Taking out my phone I checked the time, 9:45 am in an illuminating light read. I should probably discuss my debut with Har. I said opening my phone. A notification then dinged and an email popped up. "Hmm I wonder what this is for" I mumbled to myself. Opening up the email I saw it was from the school's directors board. Reading over it I was caught off guard. It said that I was chosen as the representative of the Mage academy first years because of my outstanding skills. It also said that I should be present at the opening ceremony rehearsals tomorrow at 10:30 am. Lastly it informed me that I wouldn't have to prepare anything for the ceremony. I guess this is a good opportunity for me.

"Ding"

I stood up in surprise and turned round. Liyah in front of me grabbed her phone from the counter and opened it. Her face then morphed into surprise. "Did you get an invite to the rehearsals tomorrow?" I asked curiously. Her eyes widened and she nodded dumbfounded, "How did you know?" "I also got an invite because I was chosen as a representative" I replied walking over to her. "Oh, I was invited because I was in the top three of my year," she said, showing me her email. I read through it and it was essentially the same as mine, just a representative switch with top 3. "Oh speaking of the ceremony, do you have a dress for it?" she said, glancing at me. Oh yeah the ceremony is a formal event so the dress code is a little strict. "Yeah, remember the blue and white dress I had. I'll probably wear that one." I answered. "You'll be so pretty" she complimented jumping up and down. "I also have a dress, I'll keep it a surprise for now." she teased dancing around. I watched her and started to laugh. She's really contagious. I opened my phone again and called Har. "hello" she answered, ''Hey, can we meet up" I asked. "Yeah sure I'll come to your dorm lobby in a few minutes" "okay see ya" I hung up. "Liyah i have to go somewhere, I should be back in an hour or so" I called out. "Okay have fun" she said, "I'll start putting stuff away." I smiled and waved goodbye, and started to put on my boots. I then pushed through the door and walked to where the elevators were. I took the elevator down to the lobby to meet up with Har. I walked out of the elevator and took a seat at the bar and ordered a sprite.

"Lydia" Har walked over and took the seat besides me, "hey how's your roommate?" "oh, Aliyah is really cute, her brightness is contagious," I said, just talking about her puts a smile on my face. "That good" Har nodded ordering a iced coffee. "So what do you want to talk to me about?" she asked. Sighing, I took out my phone and went to my mother's text. "Here read this" I slid the phone over to her. She picked it up and looked through. "I can't believe mother, she actually told you about your own debut over text!" she exclaimed, disgruntle. "I'll call her right now." she started to take her phone out when I grabbed her wrist. "It's fine" I stated. "But it's not-" "I said it's fine. I didn't call you hear to complain about mother" I insisted firmly this time. Hearing the seriousness in my voice she put her phone away and nodded solemnly. Taking a nother breath I continued, "so as you saw I'll be participating in the hunt for my debut." the thing that caught me off guard about this whole situation was that my debut would be at the spring royal hunt, instead of a ball like most debuts. "It's because they want to show your skills off" Har replied. "Yeah that makes sense" I agreed taking a sip of my sprite. "The spring royal hunt, is a good decision made by them. Their goal is to paint you as the powerful mage of the raven family and the best way to show your skills is during a hunt, not a ball." Har explained leaning back in her chair. "There isn't anything I can do about it," I uttered. "Yep so let's talk about the opening ceremony. Did you get an invite for the rehearsals?" she questioned, changing the topic. "Yeah, I did" I responded, "I got selected as one of the reps for the 1st years." 'that's amazing, I got promoted to rep in my third year." Har revealed. "Oh I forgot to tell you but all you really need for class is a pen, pencil, and laptop. The rest will be provided." She added. "Oh I was actually wondering about that, thank for telling me" I remarked. "No problem, they tell you after you get formally selected, but you selection was a different case" Har chuckled. She opened her phone and gasped, "sorry I have to go I have a meeting at 11 and it's already 10:50." "It's okay, lets talk later. You should get going" I urged. She nodded and hastily got out of her seat. She started to jog out the door, waving her hand at me. *sigh* there isn't much I can do about my debut so let's ignore it for now. I finished my sprite and thanked the bartender. I also got out of my seat and started to go back to my room.
