CHAPTER 13: THE DELIVERY PACKAGE

"Ethan.." Ellie let out the smallest whisper. I noticed a tear fall down her face.

I knew very well, that those people were the only ones who cared for Ethan, especially after his mother passed away.

We sat there in silence. Alec was patting Ethan on the back and Ellie had a disturbed look on her face. Ethan was still staring down, and I had to control myself from cursing his family out loud.

The Claytons had hurt him so much, yet he loved them. They were his family. I wanted to understand him, but I just couldn't.

I found Edward and Sara, Ethan's older siblings, especially horrible. They never did anything for him. Never tried to stop their father from hurting him.

The biggest reason I despised Sara was that she had once been engaged to Ryle and she had confessed that she had feelings for him. However, I dare never say this reason in front of anyone.

And Edward... Not born with fire powers but they were given to him. Ethan told me that Edward was actually born powerless. His father hated that and neglected him at the beginning.

But, by some miracle, he gained those powers. And he obviously became his father's favorite child.

We were all probably thinking of what to say to Ethan, in silence, when there was a knock on the door. The system connected to the doorbell camera made a *ting* sound and we heard someone say "Package for Ms. Evanna Silver?"

"Evanna Silver?" Ellie scoffed. "Did you make that up?" She asked mocking me.

"No." I answered, getting up to get the package.

" Whoever sent that probably didn't want anyone to know that Kara Silver lives here" Ethan said, smiling, his voice back to normal. Alec laughed too, and Ellie smiled seeing that his face was lit up again.

I walked over to the doorway and saw through the camera, a guy wearing a motorcycle helmet.

I opened the door and took the package from his hands. He asked me to sign a paper and I signed it with 'EVANNA'.

I brought the package in and placed it on the kitchen counter. I took the cutter that was in a Holder on the the counter. Just as I was about to cut through the tape on the package, Alec shouted from the table behind me, "Don't open it!"

It started me so much that I dropped the cutter. I bent down to pick it up, annoyed at Alec and could hear Ellie and Ethan laughing.

"Why, what's wrong with it?" I asked after I had picked it up.

"Just saying... Doesn't it have a sender's name?" He asked.

"Now that you mentioned it, it really doesn't." I realized, turning the rectangular-shaped box around to see if there was anything written on it.

Now I understood why Alec warned me not to open it. Whoever sent this, knew they were sending it to Kara Silver. And there had been many incidents where nameless senders had sent packages to the members and dangerous things were inside it.

"You remember the pig heart, someone sent Ronnie once." Ethan said chuckling.

"Oh god, that smelled terrible." I said making a disgusted face.

"Yea, or the frickin spring with the knife attached, sent to you" Ellie reminded me.

"It would've taken your eye out if Peter hadn't pushed you aside in time.

I smelled the box. "It definitely doesn't smell like blood." I said jokingly.

"I'll open it. Stand aside." Alec came up to me. I backed away.

Out of all 6 if us, Alec was the strongest, in terms of both, build and power. It was true that I was the guardian of the fury, but I had been banned from using my powers after 'the time incident'.

Alec had fire powers and had super strength.

Ethan had the ability to control the air- aero kinesis.

Ellie had the power to hide bodies- the power of invisibility.

Ronnie was able to produce blinding light.

Peter had the power to make the other person hallucinate- illusion manipulation.

Alec took the cutter and started tearing through the tape. Ellie and Ethan had also come up behind us.

There was nothing explosive in there.

There were some pretty questionable stuff.

Alec took it out. It was clothes- red in color.

I hear Ellie gasp. She quickly came forward and took it out of Alec's hands. She flattened it out. It appeared to be a long and silky, off-shoulder, asymmetric dress.

Ellie pushed the dress into my arms and went to scan the box. She pulled out a pair of leather ankle-length boots.

"Damn! Both of these are designer-brands. And they're super expensive. Just that dress would cost around 2.5 million dollars." Ellie said in astonishment.

That statement left me speechless with my mouth open.

"Wait. There's an envelope inside" Ellie called out as I was about to leave to check out the dress in brighter light.

I quickly went and took the letter from Ellie.

I read it out loud.

"Dear Miss Kara Silver of Volta,

It is our great honor to invite the high Princess of Volta to the Coronation Ceremony held at the planet of Tylea, in the vast Syllis universe.

It has been over a decade since our Lovely High Queen, Her Majesty, Astoria Masonella-"

"That was Ryle's adoptive mother." Ethan cut me off.

"Shh" Ellie hushed him and gestured me to continue.

I cleared my throat and continued.

"Astoria Masonella, passed away. The worlds of Syllis were left heartbroken but not more than the Royal family. After all these years, the High King, has decided to pass the crown to his eldest daughter, Princess Laurelis Masonella.

Her Highness and the royal family would be most delighted with your presence on the 1st of February, 21st Century, the year of the amber.

I finished.

"Er... So Tylea's getting a new queen? After a decade?" Ellie asked deliberately trying to sound confused at her question. But we all knew the reason she was puzzled wasn't for the new queen.

"You mean, why in the world they would invite me?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

She gave a slight shrug and mouthed 'sorry'.

We heard a phone ringing from the living room and Alec went to get it. Ethan took the letter from my hand and read it for himself.

"Did you know of this?" Ellie asked knowing that Ethan was close to the royal family of Tyleaz and was good friends with Laurelis's brother, Ryle.

"Of course. Ryle personally gave me the invitation, last night. I'm as surprised as you that Kara received one too."

I didn't even find it insulting. The worlds of Syllis are known for hating on humans, and me being, not only human, but also powerless, made me assume that they would never want to meet the likes of someone who has been banned to use magic by The ENAC.

Alec came back and answered all our questions.

"It was mom" He said addressing Ellie and then turned to Ethan and me.

"Ellie and I also received the invitation. And Ronnie texted me a few minutes ago, she received one too."

Ethan's phone also made a ringing sound and he took it out of his back pocket and checked it.

"It's Pete. He said, ' a chance to go to the planet of Tylea, Heck yea'" Ethan rolled his eyes.

It was obvious now. All 6 members of the Krystals had been invited and it would've been awkward if I wasn't.

"So... Are we going?" Ellie asked curiously.

All of them had their eyes on me.

"Well, I would love to wear that dress." I said with a Chuckle.

Ellie clapped her hands and exclaimed,

"Yes! It's settled then. We're going to Tylea in two days!"
