Chapter 56 "Assembling The Team"

Black Widow was on a mission outdoors when Interim Director Phil Coulson called her and requested her to find Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk. According to rumors on the S.H.I.E.L.D. side, Dr. Bruce Banner will use his understanding of gamma rays to assist in locating the Tesseract's whereabouts.

The entire team never saw Bruce Banner as a researcher in science and occasionally transformed him into the Hulk. Even when Loki proudly displayed his army, Tony Stark immediately retorted that they had Hulk.

Nick Fury approached Captain America and Peggy Carter, who had regained her youth, as Phil Coulson went to the Stark Industrial Building to inform Iron Man Tony Stark that the Tesseract had been stolen and that the world was about to experience a major crisis.

Peggy Carter had also recovered her youth. One may think of the rejuvenating serum as a unique formulation of the potion for physical improvement. Just that the youth serum considerably increases longevity and boosts the body's capacity for self-healing, allowing her to maintain top physical condition.

"The world needs you, Peggy and Steve."

Tonight, Nick Fury asked Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers out. Steve is now working in the security department of the Osborn Group, specializing in training the super soldiers trained by the Osborn Group.

After leaving the nursing home, Peggy was without a house. She gave the house and all of her savings to the orphanage since she believed she would pass away there. She discovers that she is impoverished and can only survive on a pension now that she has regained her youth.

Fortunately, Steve received a very good salary from the Osborne Group and was given a house in the staff complex. Peggy Carter, a retired woman, resided with Steve while focusing on her duties as a housewife.

"What happened, Director Nick Fury?" Peggy Carter questioned as she cast a cool gaze over Nick Fury.

"Don't make fun of me, but I lost the Tesseract."

In front of Peggy Carter, a legendary female agent and one of the founders of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was quite humble. He gave Peggy and Steve a general explanation of the Research Institute.

"The Tesseract… I've always assumed that you've given up on your Tesseract study." For many years, Peggy Carter hasn't heard anything about the Tesseract.

"What are you studying with the Tesseract for?" Steve said on the side with a scowl.

"Peggy should know that it's the only research on a subject." Nick Fury clarified right away.

Peggy Carter nodded. Even though this research was initiated in the 1990s, the Kree and Skrull invasion briefly left it stalled. Peggy had already retired at the time, but she had learned a few things and had no more knowledge of it.

"Peggy, you founded S.H.I.E.L.D and we currently face a threat like to the Kree invasion."

"Steve, you're Captain America. Are you truly leading the Osborn Group's security team? The world needs you to do more, so please do!" With sincerity, Nick Fury addressed the two.

Peggy looked at Steve, who was first silent before asking the question, "How about the military? Shouldn't the military be in charge of this situation? I'm not the only less-super soldier out there. There are also sophisticated unmanned robots, as far as I know."

Since he had previously worked for the Osborn Group, Steve had acquired some knowledge of the current state of technology and force. He also understood that, despite some exaggeration, what Rorschach had told him about the prevalence of superhuman beings at the time was true.

Nick Fury seemed a little down about the S.H.I.E.L.D. and the military have not been pleased lately.

"It's possible that Loki had power over the military or certain influential people. I'm not sure of any other people I can rely on, but I know I can rely on you two." Nick Fury spoke with emotion.

Steve was moved, but he wasn't ready to say yes right away, "I currently work for the Osborn Group, and if I were to participate in your business. I need to get guidance from my superiors."

Nick Fury gave a nod of agreement. As Nick Fury saw Steve call Norman Osborn, he was even prepared to be rejected once more, so he once more launched a ferocious argument with the Osborn Group.

Nick Fury will not be deterred in any case because he still holds the ultimate trump card. He still has the ability to call Captain Marvel when a catastrophe occurs.

To his astonishment, the Osborn Group gave special permission for Steve to take a five-day holiday. The annual leave is reduced for vacation days. The Osborn Group won't meddle with anything he does within five days.

Rorschach gave his permission to him. After all, joining forces with Captain America and Agent Carter might not make a difference. It'll give these two a chance to examine the damage Nick Fury caused carefully.

Additionally, Nick Fury approached Spider-Man, the friendly neighborhood hero, but Peter was once more deeply moved to turn down S.H.I.E.L.D.'s invitation.

Hawkeye and many other S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are under Loki's influence, and he successfully attacks the auction house to steal the rare metal iridium, which can stabilize the wormhole universe.

When Hawkeye removed the crate containing the metal iridium, Loki did not follow suit and instead held the attendees of the auction captive.

Similar to how the plot evolved, Captain America appeared first and engaged in combat with Loki. Tony Stark, the Iron Man, eventually arrived in Loki's defense and surrounded him with the Black Widow. Loki agreed to give up and was taken back to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Thunder rumbled as they were returning. The Black Widow's Quinjet fighter was attacked by a blond man brandishing a tomahawk in the shape of a hammer as he dropped from the skies, stealing Loki with it.

It is none other than Thor, the God of Thunder, who previously traveled to New Mexico for a personal experience.

Nevertheless, Thor doesn't have Mjolnir. Odin specifically requested that Eitri, the king of the dwarves, create him The Stormbreaker, a more potent king's weapon.

The current Stormbreaker is an exact replica of Odin's Spear. Its power is greater than the Stormbreaker in Avengers Infinity War, and it employs the world tree's branches as the handle.

Thor's ability to fight has been significantly improved once the weapon was strengthened. Thor did not intend to murder anyone when he came up against Iron Man and Captain America's siege because he was able to win a fight. It might find it too much to handle.

Nick Fury ordered the Avengers to come when Thor appeared. Thor didn't want to make matters worse as he was being besieged by several S.H.I.E.L.D. fighter planes in the sky, so he specifically explained.

"I am Thor from Asgard. Thank you for stopping my brother Loki. Now I will take him back to Asgard for me to take care of him."
