CHAPTER 34.

  ~Avery~

”This wasn't out of spite, Avery,” Natasha spoke after twenty minutes of torturous silence.

”Why did you take her away?”

”I didn’t, she’s still there only she is dormant so you can't sense her and vice versa,” I sighed and shook my head.

  ”But why?”

Another few moments passed where she didn't speak. I couldn't tell whether it was to build suspense or if she just wanted to get on my nerves, but she was succeeding with the ladder.

”This darkness you’re feeling, has it grown since James told you about your wolf?” Natasha was looking ahead as we walked deeper into the forest. I looked at James and he offered a small smile before turning his head and looking forward. He reached out and grabbed my hand, giving it a light squeeze.

I looked down on our entwined fingers, still in awe at how perfectly matched they were.

A mate really was your other half, one that fits you perfectly.
