The Knight & The Dragon.

In the land of Astafell, where towering castles touched the skies and ancient forests whispered tales of magic and danger, lived a young boy named Vesper Cristan. From a tender age, Vesper was captivated by the legends of noble knights who safeguarded their realm from the fiery wrath of dragons. These majestic creatures once roamed freely, their scales gleaming under the sun, until one fateful day when tragedy struck. Vesper's mother, a kind-hearted healer known for her gentle touch and wisdom, fell victim to a vicious dragon attack. It was a day etched in Vesper's memory like a scar upon his heart. He was just a boy then, too young to protect her, too powerless to save her from the beast's fiery breath. From that moment, Vesper vowed to become a knight-a protector of the realm-to avenge his mother's death and ensure no other family would suffer such loss. His resolve burned as fiercely as the dragon's flames, driving him to seek out training in the ways of swordplay, strategy, and valor.

Prologue.

"Vesper Cristan!" My mother's voice echoed across the field, snapping my attention from the meadow by the river.

I scanned the hillside until I spotted her waving a paper in her hand, a wide grin on her face. I waved back, my excitement building as she hurried down to me, faster than I'd ever seen her run.

She practically tackled me with a hug, nearly knocking the wind out of me. "Son, you did it! The golden seal," she gasped between breaths.

"Huh? I did it?" I groaned, still catching my breath.

"Dragon Knights Academia," she exclaimed, showing me the birth certificate I'd sent six moons ago. I took it from her, flipping it open to find the golden emblem of acceptance.

"Mother, I'm going to be a dragon knight!" I exclaimed, gripping her arm tightly.

"Yes, dear, it's a miracle. I'm so proud of you, Vesper," she said, her eyes shining with pride as we danced with joy in the field.

My mother promised me pumpkin soup for dinner to celebrate the night and I will have it after Im done with my hunting.

That late evening I ventured into the woods, a sense of unease nagged at me. Ignoring it, I focused on hunting, preparing for the journey ahead.

Suddenly, the sky erupted with blue fire toward our home. I hear sound galloping heading the other way around. Dread gripped me as I realized the danger.

"Mother!" I sprinted home to find our cottage engulfed in flames, a massive black dragon perched upon it. I fired my bow in desperation, but it was futile.

"You have kill my mother then take my life as well bloody beast!" I exclaimed in frustration.

The dragon ignored me, it expanded its massive 20 feet wing and took off. Leaving me devastated amidst the ruins.

I curl on the ground till dawn, hopeless
