Chapter 5, Adventure’s village

After walking a few miles Markus is finally able to reach the small village and stands in front of the short fence gate that surrounds it.

'So, adventure village, it seems as there are some quest for me to do. Probably have to ask the villagers for them but what does the conquer level mean?'

'Cool, so it's more like helping the village become more prosperous and helping everyone out, that doesn't seem to hard, it's a small village so how many could there be?' Markus enters the village to see tens of small wooden huts on the sides of the village with a small but busy market square in the center. As he heads towards the center square he his stopped when a few kids pass in front of him chasing each other, but after watching for a bit he realizes that they are speaking a different language. 'Why did I never think that the people of this world would speak English.' Markus slips behind one of the huts. 'System you said I have access to store right, can I access it now?'

Markus opens his inventory and see that he has over 100 rat item from the dungeon and taps on the an item and another screen appears showing the name of the item, its sell price, and the words <material> in blue. 'I guess that makes things a bit easier, well they seem like the teeth and fur are materials and the tail just says sell so I guess they don't have another uses like the others do. Sell all rat tails.'

'Well those are worth nothing but lets see, system search for language books.'

'System show me all the languages please.'

'So, I can only learn the language after I hear one of the natives speak it that's kind of stupid but fine, system can you determine what language those kids are speaking and see if I can access the book?'

'First, that's a lot of languages to learn and second there's not even a reward for but I should still try to learn a language when I can, I'll never know when it will come in hand.' Markus now back on the dirt/gravel path and follows it to town square.

Right before entering the square a he hears some one say, 'Hello, Mr.' its a young girl looking up at Markus. 'You look like your hungry, would you like to visit my pa's inn for some lunch sir?

After a second of thinking Markus agrees to join the girl to the inn, even though he wasn't hungry, he did need some information about the place that he had wound up in. 'Sure, I could eat, i can head there now' After joining her, she turns between the huts on to a small path and walk down and turns right, into a small building before waving, signaling for him to join her.

'Hello, hello, stranger how may we help you on this fine afternoon?' Says a big, muscular, hairy, man with a deep voice that's standing behind the counter.

'I was offered a meal by a little girl about yay high' Markus putting his hand by his waist. 'with black hair and around the age of five or six.'

'You must be talkin bout daisy. Ya she's mine, only being six she's good a spotting people who could use a bite, names Rick I own this Inn, the best and only one in this small place.' He yells, with a joyous look on his face.

'Well tell daisy thanks for the offering of food but I'm not that hungry for food but I would like to know more about this place if you have the time.'

'Sure I was born and raised in this town, so I know every thing that happens around here but the time is just wrong. Come back when the sun is setting and I'll tell you what ever you wants to hear.'

'Thanks for the help, I'll see you after the sun sets.' Markus pleased with being able to get information about the village heads to the town square where it seem peak of rush hours for all the merchant stalls. After walking into the market part of the square he sees a few thing that he knew were from the game but most were weapons and armor that he never seen before. The thing that was most intriguing was a tent that had a more dark mood towards it with just a sign in front saying pets. He walks into the tent and sees strange creatures and things on the wall, floor, and even hanging from the celling. After looking around he goes to a jar that is filled with a changing color goo of sorts, before a small head pops out from behind one of the boxes.

'Ah, young man, you have a good eye on you, that right there is a baby colorless slime in that jar. If it does peak your interest I could sell it for you for only a small price.' The man says as he circle Markus looking at him up and down.

'Sorry sir, but it seems I am bit low on coin at the moment.'

'Don't worry I care not for coin but for trade, you see. I have everything in this shop for trade and the coat your wearing I've never seen it in all my years of travel, you may have this small thing for the coat.'

'One it's a vest, but how value able is the little blob?'

'Oh, quite if I do say it only found in rare slime cave and have the effect of changing color, which means it has no natural color and hence the colorless slime. You can train them if they trust you and this one see attracted to you so, only one small trade, it's quite the worth.'

Markus was hesitant at first but than realized that it was a rank F item and the shops outside would probably sell better equipment anyways. 'Sure, you can have it.' Markus takes off the vest and hands it to the man, picks up the jar with the colorless slime and walks out the tent wondering if the little guy was worth the trade or not.

'That kid is not the brightest, that vest is made from the fur of the rare cave rat, it's priceless. And that slime is just for looks it's useless.'

Markus outside of the tent and seeing the sunset, starts to head to the inn while figuring out what to name his new pet. 'You look like a Sam no a Robert no how about a easy name Jelly.' At the same time the slime jumped in the jar and a screen popped up.

Jelly making a happy noise at he lays on his new friend. 'I think we should head to the inn now, Rick offered some information I won't leave him by himself, let's go Jelly.'
