Determined

At afternoon,everyone has had their lunch.

After lunch, Merry went to see the injured people.

"Oh Ladyship! "

"H-How are you all now?" Merry asked.

"We are very fine my lady."

"Thanks to you, we are feeling much better now." Knights replied with a genuine smile.

" I-I didn't do much...if a-any of need any h-help please inform." Merry told them while feeling a little sad that they were injured badly still they are being so attentive and appreciating her.

"You have already done a lot my lady....thank you." Kiren one of the them said it with a low voice. Merry looked his way ,it was the first time he had spoken to her.When she met him that day ,she felt like he wasn't that interested in introducing himself.

Kiren is youngest knight among them he is only 15 years old but still enrolled himself in chivalry. Actually he was quite upset about the fact that Maximilian was going to marry a woman from a noble family.He has his own reasons to hate nobility from bottom of his heart.

But now he is feeling better about Merry after her initiative for curing them which he didn't expect from her.

"Oh! Y-Your his g-got injured too.It must be hurting.", Merry exclaimed in shock when she saw that Kiren left eye was also injured.

" No! My lady, it is just normal cut.It will get better soon.", Kiren tried to assure her that he is fine while he blushed hard because of Merry care.

"Yes my lady.He will get better by this week." Fredrick added.

"B-But he is still kid, it m-must intolerable for him" Merry affirmed with concerned eyes.Kiren felt more shy and felt like cared for first time.

"Hmm..Our ladyship is right.."Fredrick nodded.

"I g-go and ask for w-warm water for fomentation." Merry said.

"My lady! You don't have to trouble yourself...." Kiren tried to deny but couldn't.

Merry went to ask the servent to brought warm water to him.

"Kiren you should rest child. Don't force to open your eye." June said it while petting Kiren's shoulder.

"Am I really a kid ?" Kiren asked

"Definitely.Why did you ask all of sudden?"

"Ladyship treated me like a kid. I even have fought in wars many time now..." Kiren said while looking for an answer.

" Ha ha ha.. ladyship was correct.You are still a kid."

"See Kiren, it does matter how much you have experienced at such age but still there are times when your inner child needs to be cared."

"It is necessary that you have someone to care about you kid."

Everyone explained him and laughed a lot on his childish behaviour.

"Yeah, I felt really delighted to hear our ladyship. I was wrong about her all this time." Kiren told other.They smiled affectionately at him.

Next day, When Merry woke up she saw Max was struggling to wear his tunic.

"Max?" Merry got up while rubbing her one eyes with her hand.

"Did I wake you up?" Max asked.

"L-Let me help you." Merry helped him wear.She carefully put his arms in the sleeves.

"Thank you dear.", Max thanked.But suddenly Max felt a sensation when Merry helping him.He felt the closeness within them.

Max didn't realise when he suddenly wrapped his one hand around Merry. Merry got startled by his sudden action.

Merry looked up at him.She felt shy,her cheeks became red.

"M-Max?" Merry astonished when Max pulled her a little more closer.

"Hmm..."Max looked into her eyes like he was drowning into Merry's eyes.

He lowered his head and then he with all his patience getting swapped away brushed a kiss on Merry's lips.Merry flushed and twitched in surprise.

Max then grabbed her more closer to strengthen the kiss.He was willing to devote himself in the kiss but he lightly pressed her lips.

Merry struggled on her feet as Max was really a tall guy.Their height difference was a great deal. Max lifted Merry a little up to balance her.Merry widened her eyes in surprise.

"Mmm..." Merry gasped when Max broke the kiss.Max lowered Merry but broke her free from his grip.

"Huh..huh..I couldn't keep my self control...", Max said and blushed when he realised he wasn't able to contain himself when he felt her touch.

"M-Max I..." Merry tried to say something but her mouth didn't help her as she was still in shock.It was their second kiss which happened all of sudden.

"Wh-Where are you g-going in this state?" Merry asked him while trying to stutter less.

"I am going to my office." Max said while still admiring her.

" B-But you s-should rest Max. You h-haven't recovered yet." Merry affirmed.

" I am perfectly fine Merry."

"Y-You are not well Max" Merry said with lot of concern.

"There are works which need my presence dear. So don't worry." Max cupped her cheeks affectionately and smiled.

"Max, c-can I help you ?"Merry asked with hesitation.

"You don't have to trouble yourself Merry." Max stated and petted her head.

" I want to." Merry insisted with an unsatisfied look. Max realised that Merry is being determined to help him.

" Alright then.. but you won't overwork yourself promise first." Max told.

" Promise." Merry promised while her face brightened up.

"Then come to the office after lunch okay?" Max asked with a chuckle because of her look of determination.

"Okay" Merry nodded excitedly.
