What made people speechless is that Bruce himself admitted that even he will find it hard to defeat Rick in his peak state. Even though he was confident that he could defeat Rick in one versus one battle, the fact that even Bruce will find it difficult to defeat him without receiving any damage tells the strength of Rick.

One have to remember that in terms of cultivation base, Bruce was the strongest in the entire forest. What if Bruce and Rick had similar cultivation base and fought each other? Would Bruce claim that he can defeat Rick at that moment?
