How come I can understand what they're saying? Maybe Ed is doing something? But I don't have time to worry about that right now.
I ask Ed to appraise the three while they stare at me blankly. They had helmets on though so I couldn't see their faces. Then how did I know their expression? Se~cr~et~!

'Ed, why can't I see their attributes?' (Daniel)
'People of this world can't see their attributes. Naturally, I can't appraise other people's either. Only you have access to your attributes.' (Ed)
'Then can they train up their attributes like I can?' (Daniel)
'Nope! Hahahaha, praise your mighty system!' (Ed)
'No thanks.' (Daniel)
Makes sense, I guess. If they can't even see their attributes, then how can they train them?
Despite that, I can probably make an estimate about what their highest attributes are. Arkan should have high AGI and DEX, Bork would have high STR and VIT - which makes me somewhat jealous - and Arin would be the same as Arkan.
Seeing the three still standing like trees, I called out to them.
"Um... I'm sure we're all curious about certain things here, but can we deal with that scorpion first please?!" (Daniel)
Only now did they awaken from their stupor. Although, I have no idea why they were in one to begin with.
"Arin, didn't you say there was no-one here?" (Arkan)
"C-Captain, I swear! H-He must have evaded my search or something..." Arin desperately tried to explain while tapering her voice off.
'Did you do that, Ed?' (Daniel)
'Hmph! A mere Detection spell and she wants to discover my host and me? Preposterous!' (Ed)
'Sigh... can you tell me stuff like this beforehand? I wouldn't have worried about being discovered at all...' (Daniel)
'You never asked.' (Ed)
'Okay, well, can you tell me about the things you are going to do before you do them, please?! I don't want to be just as surprised as everyone else!' (Daniel)
'Well, since you asked, I guess it's fine. (Ed)
Ed... one day, I'm going to smash your head in.
Anyway, it seems like the trio have finished discussing about me.
"Hello, adventurer. My name is Arka-" (Arkan)
"I know your names. Unfortunately, this scorpion behind me is not going to wait for introductions!" (Daniel)
Whoops! I almost forgot I have a scorpion behind me. Luckily, my instinct from my previous lives kicked in, and I evaded its stinger by a hair's breadth.
Finally! The trio are getting into a fighting formation. As expected, Bork is taking up the front while Arin is in the back. Arkan is in the middle, presumably so he can pounce at any openings.
Even with my limited knowledge of teamwork, I can tell that these three have worked together for quite a long time.
By the way, the scorpion's status was like this.
[Purple Death Scorpion - Status: Alive
Level: 70]
Most of the time, every set of ten levels would represent a huge leap in power. But not in this world. There are no ranks! How do I know this? Remember those free 10 levels I got? That would have promoted me by a rank, but I felt nothing different apart from the usual increase in attributes.
Since that is the case, then the trio should be able to kill it quite easily. Though to be honest, I'd prefer if I got the EXP from killing this thing. Imagine! A level 70 getting killed by a level 18. How much EXP would that give me?
No time for speculating now though. I need to take the right opportunity to 'secure' the kill. Call me trash or whatever, but the best thing about fighting is leveling up!
Anyway, the trio have already engaged the scorpion. Don't misunderstand, no-one proposed. I mean they started fighting it. Bork was continuously blocking its pincers and stinger, while Arin was firing arrows.
They didn't do much though, because the scorpion would always make sure to maneuver so that it hit its shell.
I wonder if it's a male or a female? Calling it an 'it' sounds a bit discriminatory.
Oops, no time for that! Arkan started moving. Running forward, he stabbed both his swords into a gap in the scorpion's exoskeleton. Now that was an accurate strike! The gap can barely fit one sword's thickness, yet he stabbed two right next to each other!
Seems like it's my time to shine. I move forward, clutching my dagger in my hand. I don't want them to know I have a Mithril Longsword after all.
Arkan, who was now disarmed, was.forced to retreat behind Bork. My dagger can easily pierce its shell, do I wait for it to be distracted by the trio before I move in for my strike.
Using the same move as with the tiger, I jump onto Arkan's swords and jump again, this time on top of the scorpion's head. Stabbing down with my dagger, I turned its brain into mush.
At the same time, Ed released a notification.

Hahahahaha! I knew 'kill securing' would be worth it! Anyway, I'll put the corpse in my inventory for now. I don't really want these people stealing my loot. Although I did steal the kill...
I took off my helmet and greeted the trio.
"Yo! I'm Daniel. I'm guessing you're Arkan, Bork and Arin?" (Daniel)
"Y-Yes we are. W-What was that?" (Arkan)
"What was what?" (Daniel)
"The kill, boy! How did your dagger go through the shell?" (Bork)
"*nod* *nod*" (Arin)
Ignoring how Arin managed to vocalize nods, I looked at them in slight disbelief.
"This is just a shitty Orichalcum Dagger though?" (Daniel)
"O-O-O-Orichalcum??" (Arkan)
"Shitty!?" (Bork)
"How can you use those two words in the same sentence?!" (Arin)
"Well it is shitty! The forger was crap! The only thing good about this thing is its sharpness. It's only Rare grade as well." (Daniel)
"R-R-Rare grade?!?!" (Arkan, Bork, Arin)
"What is it this time? Is Rare grade really that impressive?" (Daniel)
"Of course it is! We're one of the top adventurers of this Eastern region and we only have Uncommon gear!" (Arkan)
"Way to be humble huh?" (Daniel)
On the outside, I was calm and composed, giving off an air of not caring about anything.
On the inside... I was in an orz.
'Why didn't you appraise their gear, Ed?!' (Daniel)
'Tehep-' (Ed)
'Don't even try that! I need to make some skittles!' (Daniel)
'Skittles?' (Ed)
'Cos I'm about to taste the censorship!' (Daniel)
Screw the schedule! I'll write as many chapters as I can and release them ASAP.
At least until the 18th, when the competition ends. After that I'll decide on a schedule.
The joke about skittles is supposed to be with their catchphrase, taste the r**nb*w. But in case of copyright, I put censorship instead.
Cos puke is shown as rainbows in anime.
