Chapter 13: Fighting Fake Gods

"I have set the difficulty to expert for this round. Any problems?" Ma Xuegang asked while working on her computer.

"Nope." Everyone said at the same time.

Ma Xuegang chose a map and began the match.

The map had a red sunset and large swords were stabbed into barren land all across the map, which was flat with no rises.

As soon as they spawned in, Igor looked across the map and saw that their opponents had spawned in as well.

"Looks like their Thief is sixth." Igor said after counting and identifying the opponent's classes.

"And here comes the Witch." Geng Lei said. The enemy witch took of immediately while the rest arranged themselves into a formation. The players had not yet moved into a formation or from their spawning spots.

"I have an idea." Geng Lei said taking control of the group. "Zexian and I will take care of the Witch first, with the rest harassing the enemy formation. Don't fight too seriously and try to keep circling them. Who knows which of us has been targeted by their AI."

Tan Zexian's Knight and Geng Lei's Exorcist formed up one behind another and advanced. The rest also moved into a formation. Ma Xuegang place her Mechanic behind Xie Zedong's Paladin with Igor's Striker positioned in front of them.

The enemy had formed a line with their classes that couldn't fly. The Witch remained above them.

"Let's hit Battle Mage first." Igor suggested. The Battle Mage was walking almost in the middle of the enemy's formation.

Within second the two sides clashed. While Geng Lei's group pulled the Witch down, while Igor's group attacked at whoever he suggested. The enemy seemed to have focussed on attacking Xie Zedong's Paladin, but would briefly fight if interrupted.

Tan Zexian managed to use Provoke on the Witch forcing it to focus on him. At that time Geng Lei would attack it, with Tan Zexian using a few knight skills to stun or inflict damage.

After several second the enemy Gunner turned its attention away from Xie Zedong and focussed on Geng Lei. But with this Igor saw an opportunity. The enemy Gunner had not kept a long enough distance, and with some additional skills, Igor closed the distance and attacked.

This prompted the enemy Striker to break off from attacking Ma Xuegang and moved to the Gunner's aid. As the Striker got close to Igor, Igor spun around and used Falling Flower Palm Strike, a pre level 20 skill that he had chosen to include in his character's set up. Normally Strikers would not use a skill like that, but at this moment it was useful. The Striker had place itself between Igor and a large sword. The Falling Flower Palm Strike pushed the Striker into the sword and when it hit the pillar, there was a small stun effect. Igor then continued attacking the Gunner.

Ma Xuegang and Xie Zedong continued to trade skills with the Battle Mage and Blade Master.

Then the Witch fell. Geng Lei and Tan Zexian moved to attack the Striker who was trying to attack Igor again.

But then the Battle Mage broke off its attack and went for Geng Lei, but she saw it coming and was able to respond appropriately. For a short time there would be fighting and the player's would gain the upper hand. With a Paladin healing it was going well. The Gunner was on the verge of death.

"Fuck. A thief." Xie Zedong cursed. They had forgotten about the enemy thief, who had snuck up on Xie Zedong and was attacking him mercilessly.

"Hold. Almost done" Igor said. Trying to increase his hand speed, he wanted to finish off the Gunner and then go help.

But there was no need. Tan Zexian was within range of the Thief, and used Roar to gain its attention, taking the pressure off Xie Zedong.

Seconds later the Gunner fell. If Igor had not tried to rush it, he might have killed the Gunner sooner, but because he tried to increase his hand speed, he made mistakes and lengthened the fight.

With the fight completely in their favour, the last of their enemy fell swiftly.

"Well I think this easier than 1v1." Igor said.

"I can agree. If you are not their target, you get to land the first hit." Geng Lei remarked.

"I wonder how Level God is?" Igor said standing up. "I getting something to drink."

"Wow that is confidence." Father Ma said. "There are drinks in the bag over there. Pass me something too, please."

Igor began passing out drinks to everyone. They drank relative silence.

"Who joining me to fight Level God?" Igor asked when they finished.

"I will" Geng Lei said.

"Me too." Tan Zexian said.

"Good luck." Ma Xuegang said with sarcasm in her voice.

"Which classes are we fighting?"

"Battle mage, Striker and Witch. Three old Pro-Gods." Igor said.

"So were are fighting Ye Qui, Han Wenqing and Wang Jeixi." Geng Lei remarked.

With that they loaded a map and began the match.

Two minutes later the match ended.

"Blyat." Igor swore.

"That was tough."Geng Lei.

"Tough? That impossible. It wiped the floor with us." Igor said "Lest try again."

Geng Lei and Tan Zexian nodded in agreement and they fought another match. And another. And another.

While Igor, Geng Lei and Tan Zexian were trying to beat their opponents, the rest did other things. From fighting their own 3v3 matches or just doing 1v1 duels, they continued testing the program, while hearing Igor curse every time he lost.
