Why Her???

The Next day, Bai Liuxuan left all the party planning to her mother and brother to handle and rushed to the Modelling Agency. Bai Liuxuan was popular yes, but having a shoot with a celebrity is actually a boost in her career. She didn't want to rely on her family name to get job opportunities. Indeed, Her family's name shook the imperial, but she was an independent woman, she wanted to be like her mother and her Aunt Ling.

On arrival, Hai Zhi immediately took her to change and get ready for the shoot as the 'Anonymous' celebrity had already arrived.

"Hai Zhi, Do you know this celebrity?"Bai Liuxuan asked as they worked on her face.

"To be honest. I don't know who she is. Infact, I received a call from her manager"Hai Zhi shrugged. Bai Liuxuan didn't know why she felt odd about the whole situation. But what gives? She didn't talk about it and focused on what she would be doing later.

As soon as she was done, Hai Zhi led her to the Picture Room. Bai Liuxuan and Hai were chatting as they entered they room, but on seeing the other person there, They both froze.

"Er... Liuxuan, are you alright?"Hai Zhi asked her. Bai Liuxuan frowned and walked out shutting the door fiercely.

"Come help me take off this dress"She beckoned on the costumer who hurried over immediately.

"Liuxuan, What are you doing?"Hai Zhi asked with a terrified look.

"Seriously, Her? Why Her?"Bai Liuxuan looked terrible as she glared angrily at Hai Zhi. Hai Zhi was shocked as he stared at Her. He shivered slightly. Bai Liuxuan is a nice person but when angered, everyone had to stay far away from her.

"What's....wr...wrong with her?"Hai Zhi stuttered.

"Did you just ask me that?"Bai Liuxuan glared angrily at him. Hai Zhi shook his head frantically.

"I swear I didn't know the celebrity was Huo Meilan. I didn't know really"Hai Zhi said. Bai Liuxuan looked at him knowing he was speaking the truth. She sighed in frustration.

"Liuxuan, Please just go ahead and do it. Since you already arrived. It wouldn't be good if you don't show up when you've promised"Hai Zhi said as he stroke her hair.

"I'm sorry Hai Zhi. I just don't like that lady"Bai Liuxuan said. Hai Zhi sighed and he was curious too.

"I won't ask why you don't like her, but please, do this for me"Hai Zhi pouted. Bai Liuxuan narrowed her eyes at him.

"You make me do the impossible sometimes"Bai Liuxuan chuckled bitterly.

"Just go already. I also need to take her autograph since I'm a fan"Hai Zhi said and laughed sheepishly. Bai Liuxuan glared at him and walked away.

"Phew, That worked well...I guess"Hai Zhi palmed his forehead and hurried behind Bai Liuxuan. On getting there, he nearly cried out. Bai Liuxuan was frowning with her arms folded. Huo Meilan had just finished her make up and walked towards her with a smile.

"Sister Liuxuan. It's great to see you"Huo Meilan said. Bai Liuxuan scrunched her face I'm disgust. Addressing her as Sister meant they were close and had known each other for long. She was furious at the stares others were giving them. Huo Meilan moved to hug her but she moved back a bit.

"Sorry, I don't want the dress to get ruined"Bai Liuxuan faked a smile. Hai Zhi nearly hit his head on the wall. Huo Meilan went red form embarrassment and immediately covered up with a smile.

"It's okay. Shall we then?"Huo Meilan said. Bai Liuxuan gave am arrogant nod and followed. No one noticed the tension between them as they were focused on the two Celebrities taking pictures together.

"Okay Ladies, We're set"The Photographer said. Although the shoot, Hai Zhi had to beg and force Bai Liuxuan to smile. The Photographer was also at loss as he knew Bai Liuxuan to be very Cheerful especially during shoots. Was she having a Bad Day?

After the shoot, Bai Liuxuan didn't spend another minute in the room as she walked out immediately. Huo Meilan immediately covered her embarrassed with a fake smile. She looked at the door and tightened her lips.

Bai Liuxuan got rid of the dress and make up and took her bag to leave. She didn't bother to wish Hai Zhi goodbye like she always did. She was relieved when she got to the car park, but her relief switched to annoyance on sighting Huo Meilan and Hai Zhi walking towards her. It was then she noticed the flashy car besides hers. Obviously, this car belonged to Huo Meilan as it even had her name on the Car plate. She followed entertainment news and she knew it was the customized car Jin Min had recently gifted her.

She rolled her eyes and took out her car keys.

"Sister Liuxuan Wait please"She heard Huo Meilan behind her. She turned stiffly and faked a smile since Hai Zhi was there.

"Hello, Any problem?"She asked with her head held with dignity.

"I just wanted to say that it was nice to take those shots with you today. If it's okay, I'll like to take you out for lunch"Huo Meilan said.

"Sorry, I'm Busy"Bai Liuxuan said and opened her car. Huo Meilan bit her lips and hurried to hold her arm but Bai Liuxuan moved away quickly.

"Sorry, it's just that I want to be your friend. If you don't mind. I rarely have friends but I'm interested in being yours"Huo Meilan smiled. Although, Bai Liuxuan didn't look at Hai Zhi who was giving her signals.

"I don't keep friends. If Miss Huo May, I need to get somewhere important"With that, Bai Liuxuan drove off.

"I'm so sorry about Liuxuan, she's very nice and sweet. I think she just has a bad day"Hai Zhi tried to soften the situation. Huo Meilan who was frowning turned and smiled.

"It's alright Mr Zhi. I've heard nice things about her too. I'm worried that she doesn't like me"Huo Meilan said sadly. Hai Zhi froze when she said that. Indeed, Bai Liuxuan didn't like her for some reason.

"Have you both had a misunderstanding before?"Hai Zhi asked.

"No we haven't. But I think it's because of Her Aunt who was my step mother"Huo Meilan said and then pretended to clamp her lips.

"I wasn't supposed to say that. I'll get going now Mr Zhi"Huo Meilan said. Hai Zhi nodded stiffly. After Huo Meilan left. Hai Zhi was in thoughts.

It was no secret that Huo Meilan was the second daughter of the Huo Family and Huo Meilin the Eldest daughter. If Huo Meilin's mother was Bai Liuxuan's Aunt, that many that Huo Meilin and Bai Liuxuan were bother cousins. Goodness!

Huo Meilin was also a granddaughter of the Bai family? How Terrifying. He made ho his mind to never offend Huo Meilin. But now, If Huo Meilin and Huo Meilan are sisters, shouldn't Huo Meilan also be a granddaughter of the Bai family? Hai Zhi was thrown in thoughts.

Bai Liuxuan arrived home slamming her car door angrily. She stomped into the house like the soldiers at the Barrack where her Grandpa usually went to.

San Yi and Bai Liuquan were seated at the dining and saw Bai Liuxuan match furiously to her room. The Duo stared at each other confused. They stood up and went up to her room and met her seated on her bed frowning.

"Xuan'er?"San Yi called. Only then did Bai Liuxuan remember her mother and brother were home. She stood up quickly and ushered them to her room.

"Mother. I didn't see you, Sorry"She said.

"No that's fine. I'm just worried. I saw you walk into the house angry. Are you Fine?"San Yi asked sitting beside her. Bai Liuxuan sighed.

"I'm alright, just annoyed at a certain turn of event"Bai Liuxuan said.

"Didn't you go for the shoot with the 'Anonymous' celebrity today?"Bai Liuquan asked as he passed her a glass of juice.

"That's where I'm coming from and it was terrible"Bai Liuxuan said.

"What? What happened?"San Yi asked. Bai Liuxuan narrated everything that had happened. San Yi and Bai Liuquan slowly had a change of expression.

"How dare that Slimy Bit*h"Bai Liuquan sneered.

"Liuquan, Language"San Yi warned. He scowled angrily and looked away.

"I know what she wanted. Hmph, that family still refuses to back away"San Yi scoffed.

"What do you mean mother?"Bai Liuquan asked.

"Isn't it obvious? She didn't seem friendship ever since but now that they've heard of your grandfather's birth party, they sent that little witch to come pose as a friend, so she would get invited and then get linked up with Big Shots of the Imperial. Not just that, it would then seem that The Bai and Huo Family are very close when we're not"San Yi analyzed the whole situation.

"So they wanted to use me for their own selfish games. Disgusting"Bai Liuxuan said annoyed.

"Mother, We must teach them a lesson. It seems the last one hasn't yet out them in their place"Bai Liuquan said.

"No, I just thought It through now. Let's invite her over. I have a very nice plan"Bai Liuxuan smirked.

Huo Meilan arrived at home and walked inside with slumped shoulders. The others were chatting happily inside but in seeing Huo Meilan, they looked at her in worry.

"Lan'er, What happened? You look Beat"Qin Longyu asked as she brought her to sit. Huo Jing passed her some water.

"I'm alright. It's just that...well..."Huo Meilan trailed off.

"Lemme guess, That Bai girl didn't invite you over"Huo Jingrou frowned. Huo Meilan looked downwards.

"That tiny girl think she's all high and Mighty just because she's from the Bai Family. How dare she look down on us?"Qin Longyu was furious.

"What do we do now father?"Huo Jing said. Just as Huo Jingrou was about to say something, Huo Meilan's phoned dinged. She picked it up to read the message and her eyes widened.

"Mother, I got invited"Huo Meilan said happily.

"See, I told you she won't reject you"Qin Longyu said proudly.

"Good, Make sure you pick a good dress for yourself. You have to stand out from the others"Huo Jing said.

"Yes" Huo Meilan said and hurried to go search for a dress online.

"Now that Huo 3had been invited, Let's see How the Bai's will stop us from growing in the imperial"Huo Jingrou smirked.

At Huo Meilin's Villa.

"Oh is that so?"....

"Okay, I've heard you. I'll be careful"Huo Meilin said and hung up..

"Who was it?"Yun Sheng asked crossed leg as he sipped on a cup of coffee. Huo Meilin looked at him. He now had a habit of sneaking into her room at night. He would watch her sleep and then return back to his own villa.

"My Second Uncle"Huo Meilin replied as she sat on the bed opposite him. Yun Sheng raised a brow.

"You still speak to your second Uncle?"He asked.

"Uh-Huh. He's the only one who treated me like a somebody back then. He's not seen as an important person in the family since he's an illegitimate son of my My Grandfather. He's been keeping me posted on the happening at the Huo Mansion"Huo Meilin explained. Yu Sheng poured her juice and passed it to her. She thanked him and took it.

"That's nice of him. What did he tell you now?"Yun Sheng asked. Huo Meilin told him how Huo Meilan tried to seek the friendship of the young Miss of the Bai family but failed. Eventually, she got am invite to the birthday party which is tomorrow evening.

"It seems like shamelessness runs through that family"Yun Sheng chuckled.

"It's surprising that they eventually invited her over"Huo Meilan was confused.

"Does it matter to you?"Yun Sheng asked her. Huo Meilin shook her head.

"Relax then. Enjoy your juice"Yun Sheng said.

"Did you put something in it, you keep saying enjoy your juice"Huo Meilin eyed him suspiciously. Yun Sheng looked at her and smirked evily.

"Is it possible for me to do that?"He asked her.

"It's possible"Huo Meilin didn't lie as she shrugged. Yun Sheng chuckled. So, she didn't trust him, yet she never chased him out of her room. To avoid earning a glare from her, he didn't voice it out.

"Any plans for tomorrow?"Yun Sheng asked her.

"Oh, a certain pretty lady at The Modelling Agency invited me for a party tomorrow. She's very cute, I couldn't say no"Huo Meilin said. Yun Sheng frowned.

"Sheep's can also be wolves"He stated. She frowned.

"She's nice. I could feel it. Besides, Xiao Long and Minyan are coming with as well"Huo Meilin said. Yun Sheng was relieved a little.

"Ran Ran and Little Xin will come along as well"Huo Meilin sighed tiredly. Only the. did the frowning oracle relax.

"Will you please sing me a lullaby?"Huo Meilin asked pouting.

"No"came the savage reply.

"Yun Sheng. You're very Bad. Just a Lullaby"

"No, I don't sing"Yun Sheng said. "Also, I'm sleepy as well, So goodnight" Before she said a words, He had walked out the door. Huo Meilin laughed.

Now she found something to chase him out of her room. She remembered that she hadn't arranged a dress for the party tomorrow. The dress code was All White.

She then remembered that her mother had given her a very beautiful dress before she died. She had told her her own father had given her as a gift when she was just a teenager. Huo Meilin remembered that she had taken that dress with her the day she left the Huo Mansion. She walked to the wardrobe where she kept the dress and stared at it. That would be what she would wear tomorrow.

She took it out and prepared to arrange it. The party somehow made her nervous, but she shrugged it off. She was only invited and that was all.
