The Killing at District 12

There were mysterious murders taking place at District 12 every last weekend of the month and the serial killer was at large. "Our killer was not just deliberately peeling of the face of his victims. He was also eviscerating their body and purging out their organs, particularly their hearts. It was like the killer wanted to remove everything that made one human." Two people who used to be high school friends and also shared a painful past; both lost a loved one on an incident that happened six years ago decided to join hands to solve this mystery. One was retired a forensic anthropologist who turned a new leaf and chose to become a professor at a medical school While the other was a former law enforcement officer who had decided to be into seminary and was just a step away from becoming an officially ordained priest Will they be able to identify the notorious killer that lurked the shadows of their district??? CARLO RAMIREZ

"Sir, they said they would be holding a press conference."

James said with a bitter expression. Judging from his reaction, it was not that hard to infer that just like the others, he also personally did not think that it was a good idea.

"Those fools surely know how to mess things up All they care about is how they have their faces on the television! Have Ramirez call me within an hour. I want a full briefing on how Sapiro found the suspect. Tell him its urgent."

"Roger that, Sir."

James replied simply and then Officer Aragon ended the call. Right after the other party hanged up on him, James immediately headed towards Ramirez's office to relay Officer Aragon's message, and within that same hour, Carlo Ramirez would be seen having a heated argument with someone on the phone.

"Why??? Is there a problem with that, Officer Aragon?"

Carlo Ramirez asked cockily over the phone.

Even way before his sudden involvement at the case, Carlo Ramirez and Kurt Aragon already had bad blood going on between them.

Carlo believed that he was actually the one who was supposed to be the Chief of Police as he and his other connection that he suited the position best.

They even made an appeal on his behalf when the prime minister chose Officer Aragon over him.

Unlike Kurt who was only a nobody back then and had nothing to boast other than his meritorious service, Carlo had all the necessary resources as well as the powerful backing in the high office.

That was why he did not take it lightly when Kurt Aragon nabbed the position under his nose. And from the current looks of it, it seemed that the beef between them would only further intensify now that Ramirez took over Aragon's case.

"How did you find the suspect?"

Officer Aragon's voice sounded out from the speaker of his phone and Ramirez replied to him with a nonchalant attitude as he listed down the prior crimes pinned under the alleged notorious killer of District 12.

"The usual."

He said with a shrug then he put his phone down and turned the loudspeaker on so he could pick on his ears instead.

"He has been charged with public indecency, acts of lasciviousness----".

Ramirez paused a little to adjust his belt and allow his tummy to wiggle a bit. Then he continued

"To be honest, it would take me forever to tell you all the charges against him. He had committed a long list of crimes in the past. There were simply a lot of prior complaints against him. Why don't you come over here instead and check him out for yourself???"

He joked but Officer had no intention to fool around with him.

"Don't try to be funny with me, Ramirez. Answer me, how many were these crimes exactly? Were they verified? And most important of all, what do you have on his that ties him to the killings?"

Officer Aragon asked his questions one after another. However, feeling that his authority was being questioned, Ramirez clenched his teeth and balled his hands into a fist.

"Is that even important??? The suspect already confessed!"

"Did he??? So would you mind telling me, how was the confession instructed from him, Ramirez?"

Officer Aragon insinuated and hearing the edge of sarcasm from his voice, Ramirez responded with a harrumphed.

"The hell with you, Kurt? What is this, an audit? If you are that adamant to hear more about this case, I suggest you watch the news tomorrow. Daniel would have an interview regarding the case."

"We cannot afford to take shortcuts here, Carlo. You are merely backing yourself into a corner if you present the suspect to the public. I would not hold that press conference if I were you."

Officer Aragon replied in a matter of fact tone but Ramirez only hanged up on him and throw the phone at the floor afterward.
