Javier made his way out of the door and heard the screaming voice behind him. For a few minutes, he didn't move away from the door outside.
The anger on his face was replaced with calm yet disturbing expressions. Nothing can explain his sentiments at this time, because he too was in the worst position ever in his life.
He kept his head against the door with a pained expression on his face. Her scream was dreadful to hear. Did it pain him? Yes. But it made him almost… lock her inside the room. There was no direct answer to his actions but everything held a deeper meaning in his actions.
The room was deeply dark with the only source of light being the small room. Moreover, he doesn't know how she will live there but this was important.
'I..I'm sorry Jennifer but this is simply for your safety.' With this thought in his heart, he finally stepped out and came on to the first floor of the villa, leaving Jennifer in the room itself, to solve the current mess.
There, Ellen was waiting for him along with some other unknown man. Walking near Ellen first, he noticed that he too was worried. But at the same time, Javier had no other time for chitchat so he asked straightforwardly, "So, what is the news?"
"The person whom Ms. Taylor contacted is actually her best friend. We don't know if she will tell Lucas or not but there is surely someone else who also traced the call."
"So.. the call was traced already." Javier was most worried about this and it already happened now due to his negligence in this matter.
Ellen nodded his head and looked at the other man, who was also working for Javier, named Ryan.
"Ryan.. what did you find?" Javier asked when he received the reply, "Under our supervision, it has happened for the very first time that someone was successful in tracing the calls on your phone. Until.. it is impossible.."
A thick line settled in between his brows when he heard the statement. "You mean to say that they weren't Lucas's people who traced it."
Moreover, if there were normal people or the people of Lucas, he was sure that he wouldn't have been able to get their hands on his call until now. His phone was protected from the locals and his enemies, those who are known but the who else...
Something like this seemed too realistic to accept. Not because they were too powerful but because their system was surely tight to the next heights. This place was entirely isolated and no one could enter their space without their acknowledgment.
Jennifer's contact-making puts them at high risk. The possibility that her best friend will inform Lucas is exceptionally very high.
Javier's eyes turned aloof. His eyes were bleaching in anger and helplessness. He massaged his temples to calm his popping nerves and to think more deeply about the current situation.
"So... leave the other opponent. Can Lucas trace the call anymore?" Javier asked with utmost cautiousness to which Ryan said, "Somewhat yes. We don't know though, only time can tell. All we can do is to give our best."
"Anything else?" Javier asked, hoping to know nothing more but his luck was currently very bad because Ellen immediately answered, "Before coming here, we saw a ship in this direction. Though we don't know whether they are.. belonging to any group or simply the trade ship. I asked other people to keep an eye over it."
Ellen's words added more to his worry. He now has more work to do with his island to keep safe when he passed an order after some consultancy in his mind. "Increase the security of the island. Also, no matter what, remove all the traces of Jennifer's call from the getting traced and otherwise as well..."
"Yes sir!" They both nodded their heads and then when Ryan stepped out, Ellen stayed back and looked at Javier, "Are you sure that you wish to keep Jennifer down?"
"We don't know if people on the ship are...those or maybe we can be attacked anytime. We have to be ready as well." Javier's reply made sense to him and he nodded his head in return.
….
Meanwhile, when Javier was involved to solve the mess that Jennifer created, Jennifer was sitting with her legs folded.
Her head in between her legs, holding her legs with both of her hands and feeling down. A stream of tears was flowing out of her eyes the moment she realized the situation.
Javier has locked her inside this room as her punishment. But why did her heart still feel that there is more to it?
'Was I so wrong? But he also used to talk in front of me. Moreover, what could have resulted in my call?' She was totally confused because her mind couldn't proceed at all.
Tears flickered on the bay when she tried to look at the only source of light, the small window at the top. It was too small for her to see anything outside.
Javier put her inside this room, where looking at her own face was impossible. Thankful that there was a mattress otherwise she would have landed on the floor with her head bumping into the ground.
Her hair was all a mess. The bun she made in the morning was already a mess. God knows how many hours have already passed since she was locked.
No one came to check on her. Her heart touched with the slightest pain with the thought that Javier totally forgot about her existence.
'Not like I committed any crime unlike him.. as the criminal.. but..' deep down she knew the consequences of being caught yet Jennifer took the risk to go on that road.
Here she is, facing the result of her actions. She hasn't eaten anything since morning. Her stomach was growling from time to time due to her hunger and it looks impossible for anyone to come and offer her any dinner or lunch
With each hour passing, she was on the brink of losing consciousness. Her head was feeling dizzy due to hunger since the night. Jennifer had no idea for how long she would be able to hold herself in the right place.
'Sh*t, my head is almost hurting..' weakness spread all over her body with taking a breath became more difficult. Jennifer held her head where she can't say anything anymore but everything seems to be fading in front of her.
'I gu...guess...I..can't..'
THUND!
