Chapter 30- His Promise

" What are you?" Kazuki asked another question while expecting Yozuko to answer.

"Just like other paladins, I was born from the legendary sword but half of me is made up of the scythe's will to protect you."

Kazuki also wondered about Yozuko's stats if he's like normal paladins or someone more stronger.

Yozuko demonstrated his skill [shadow merge] where he can hide in Kazuki's shadow so that he could guard him 24/7. There's also this skill called [night mare] where he summons a rank-s dark horse as his steed.

(Note: Dark horses are ranked S because there have been ancient records of dark horses destroying cities on their own. Some even call them "night mares" because of that. Night mares are the females while Pegasus are the males.)

After the explanation, the puzzle pieces and Kazuki's head merged creating a better answer for his curiosity. He asked Yozuko to use [shadow merge] and accompany him wherever he goes. After all, the dark side's will is to protect him at all times.

He returned to the dormitory and found Coppelia waiting at the door. She rushed towards Kazuki upon seeing him and embraced him tightly. Kazuki felt a small spark in his heart but it would be absurd to call it love.

Coppelia looked up and Kazuki saw tears rolling down her eyes. It was clear that she was worried but Kazuki couldn't help but ask why. They just met a day ago so it isn't normal that she cares for him a lot.

" Hic, hic. Please don't do anything like that again Mr.Hashima. I don't want to lose a master who's been nice to me" she said while begging and not letting him go.

He thought of various things that could cheer Coppelia up. He searched his entire memory lane and found the perfect solution in his memories of playing dating sims.

He cleared his throat an said " Don't cry. I promise I won't leave you" in a suave way. Coppelia looked up and asked "Really?"

Kazuki felt a light shock in his heart upon seeing Coppelia's adorable face. It was more adorable than when he first met Maggie. He couldn't hold back anymore and asked " H-hey Coppelia, how about we go to town fo lunch together. You've cleaned my room after all."

" A-are you sure?" she asked shyly.

" Of course" Kazuki replied with a big smile. He never had someone clean his room out of their own accord. Even the castle maids need to be requested before they can clean your room.

Coppelia slightly nodded and she went beck top the maid's dorm. As she was about to leave, Kazuki shouted "Then it's a date" which made her blush.

The next day,

It was a weekend but Maggie and Sakua can't seem to find Kazuki. Even his maid can't be found in the maid's dorm. They were planning to invite him to eat at a famous restaurant in town but he was missing so they decided to go to town without him. They took a stroll in the park and tried some famous street foods. They even helped a lost child return to his mother.

The bell tower tower rang and both of them entered the restaurant. There was a long line but they were able to immediately enter thanks to their early reservation. They could also use their status as Magic academy's s-class students ut it was a bit unfair so they followed correct procedures.

When they looked for their table, they saw Kazuki and Coppelia having lunch while talking and smiling as if the were on a date. Suddenly, the entire atmosphere turned cold.
