The spy unit sent by the king reached the place using the teleportation spells and found the place completely filled with ashes and banners of different armies burned down. Due to the complete annihilation of the armed forces and the evidence of the scene pointing that both armies are destroyed, the spies came to a conclusion that first and second prince factions have turned against each other.

They did not know about Ash's power otherwise they would have definitely understood that it is the work of Ash. They had also thought that one of the factions might have taken a third party support and turned against the other faction. It was difficult to say for certain which faction turned against another.
