Introducing new foods (2)

The duo reached the restaurant and entered it. When they entered it, they saw only few people in the restaurant. The atmosphere felt too dismal. They went to the counter where the owner of the restaurant is cleaning the glasses.

"Excuse me? We are here from the guild to fulfill the request" said Raven. The owner looked at them and a glint appeared in his eyes.

"Welcome my name is Oswald and I am the owner of this restaurant. I have been waiting for someone to answer my request" said Oswald with joy.

"I can see that." said Ash looking at the mere amount of customers.

Oswald did not mind those words.

"Let me ask you what sore of new dish are you going to introduce?"

"There are two dishes which complement each other. They are burger and French fries" said Raven.

"Oh I've never heard of them." said Oswald.

"I'll write down the list of items for this dish. Why don't you arrange them so that we can start cooking." said Ash.

Ash listed the items and Oswald went to different shops to buy the required materials.

"So how are you going to bake the buns since there is not ovens in this world?"

"By using a pan." said Ash.

"Pardon?" asked Raven.

"We need not use oil for baking purposes. We just need to place them on a pan to bake just like Chapathi's we made in our old world" said Ash.

"That's brilliant." said Raven with a smile.

It took Oswald 1 hour to bring back the required materials like Flour, Yeast, Milk, Potatoes, Cheese, Onion and tomatoes, sesame seed, egg. The crops like onion and tomatoes do not grow in the kingdom, so they import them from other countries.

Ash and Raven began their work. She followed Ash's instructions to prepare food. Ash took some flour in a bowl and added two tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp salt and mixed them.

He added 2 1/4 yeast into the mixture. They all are mixed and combined. He added some warm milk and 2 tbsp butter which the owner had in the restaurant. He mixed them all together and made it into a dough.

Raven followed the dame thing as he did. He put the dough into a wooden plate and added some flour on it. He made the dove into 8 pieces with the help of a knife. He then rolled them into balls.

He put a cloth on them and said to the owner "They need to be dried for 45 minutes".

Oswald nodded and they all waited for the dough to warm up. He added the beaten egg on the the top of all the eight pieces along with sesame seeds.

He took a pan and placed it on the small furnace in the kitchen. He put the buns on the pan and rolled them from time to time. He did that until the burgers had golden brown.

After doing that he concentrated on the potato crust to be made. He cut potatoes and boiled them in a container.

When their texture became soft, he peeled the outer skin and mashed these potatoes into a paste. He added salt in it. He made them into the round shape and put them into oil for them to fry. Using the same potatoes he made he cut the potatoes into shape of sticks and fried them separately.

Ash and Raven took turns to fry them. The owner noted down the method and was happy as a new dish will bring a lot of customers.

When the frying is done, he put the fries aside. H had to wait for the potato crusts to obtain deep brown colour.

When it is done, he put them aside. He cute open the bun and added tomato, onions along with cheese. He put the crust on them and added onion, tomatoes, cheese on the top of the crust. He closed the bun and did the same process for others.

Thus the burger and fries were ready. They did not come as good as earth but it will be suitable for this world.

The owner ate the burger and his eyes widened by the taste. "The potato crust along with cheese brings a different flavor. It is delicious." said Oswald.

"This will bring a lot of customers to our restaurant. Thank you." said Oswald with a smile.

Raven nodded at Ash and said "If you do not maintain a clean restaurant, everyone will avoid it."

Oswald was startled by those words. "You mean they are avoiding it due to unclean environment?" asked Oswald.

"Yes, unclean environment causes diseases, so they avoid it" replied Ash.

"I see, this is the first time I am hearing it. Clean the restaurant everyday and you will see a drastic change in business" said Ash.

"Thank you. I will do it. As for your payment, you can collect it directly from the guild" said Oswald.

"Okay. Good Luck" said Ash and went away along with Raven.

"Since there are no health standards in this world, he could not understand the downfall in business." said Raven.

"Yeah, but at least people in this barony are changing." said Ash with a grin.

"Yes, when I go back I will take initiative in cleaning the county" said Raven.

"May you succeed." said Ash.

"Thank you." said Raven.

They both made their way to the guild, where they split the gold and Ash got 100000 gold. He made his way back to his house and he also knew some unknown people were following him.

"They must be keeping an eye on me for the count." thought Ash.

He made it straight to his house and sat on the bed to meditate. He could sense them watching from other house. He did not do anything except meditate for the day.
