Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden

After the incident with farfetch'd, the gang were now heading towards the cinnabar island where Ash will earn his next gym badge and where Ash and his friends can have fossils revived by the sciencetists.

Right now Ash was in the middle of a important battle.

For some reason bulbasaur had been adamant about countinuing to battle the trainers Ash came across making ash a little worry but he knew that it was going to evolve soon. But he also knew that bulbasaur didn't want to evolve and he won't force him either.

"Get ready bulbasaur."Ash told him

" Bulba (I am ready)" Bulbasaur said getting in positon

"I wonder why Ash keeps using Bulbasaur not his other pokemon." Yellow wonderes

"Its beacuse bulbasaur wants to keep battling fot some reason that not even Ash can figure out." said Glissle

"He is been acting starange ever since we got here." Brock said

Misty nodded.

"Is bulbasaur sick?" Wondered yellow

"No I don't think so. But if he is Ash will take care of him." Glissle said with a smile

Pikachu was concerned about the grass type. This weird behaviour had him very worried.

"Ryhorn ise Take down!" The hiker ordered

Rhyhorn charged at the grass type who stood there looking clam.

"Jump bulbasaur." said Ash

Bulbasaur used his vines to jump in the air successfuly avoiding Rhyhorn's Take down attack landing back on the ground safely.

"Nice way to avoid Take down." said yellow

Misty agreed

"Sometime being creative in a battle can be helpful too." Brock said

"Take down Rhyhorn." The hiker orderes

"Stop it in its track with Razor leaf." said Ash

Bulbasaur sent razor leaves in front of Rhyhorn stopping it from continuing its Tackle attack,"Now vine whip."said Ash

The grass type used his vine whips to knock out the Ground/Rock-type pokemon.

"That's that Ash wins again." Yellow said

"That makes it bulbasaur's 5th victory." said Misty

Ash bid the Hiker farewell as he returned his Ryhorn and walked away, when the raven-haired teen turned to his Bulbasaur however he nearly panicked, "Bulbasaur!" He ran over to the grass-type crouching down to get a better look at his friend.

Bulbasaur was on the ground his bulb pupsating a blue glow; sweet pouring down his face as his little body began to shake, "Bulbasaur. (it hurts very much....)"

Ash wasted no time picking up his friend,"I am taking you to a pokémon center, Yellow, Glissle, Misty is there one nearby?"

"There is, If we hurry we can get there quickly!" Brock told them.

They wasted no time in running to the pokémon center their worry for bulbasaur fueling them to keep on running so they can make sure their little friend would be okay.

"Nurse Joy help, there's something wrong with my bulbasaur." Ash cried for help.

Nurse Joy came over and inspected Bulbasaur,"Oh dear, Chansey lets go to work!!"

"Chansey (on it)!" Chansey said as they both took Bulbasaur in the back leaving the gang in the waiting room

Ash was worried,"I knew I should have convinced bulbasaur to stop battling and get some rest. What was I thinking?"

"Pikachu (He will be fine)" Pikachu assured him friend rubhing against his cheek.

"Don't blame yourshelf Ash, Bulbasaur's been acting strange lately anyway and besides bulbasaur himshelf to keep battling." Glissle  told him.

Ash sat down, still worried,"I guess You are right."

"I wodner what was wrong with the bulb on Bulbasaur's back? It was glowing blue." Yellow wondered

"Guess we will find out when Nurse Joy's done with him." Brock said

It didn't take very long beacuse Nurse Joy brought Bulbasaur right back out, Ash went up to him quickly, "How is he?"He asked

"Your Bulbasaur is just fine, in fact you will be happy to know Bulbasaur will evolve soon." Nurse Joy smiled

"Evolve?" Brock exclaimed

"That's Great news." Yellow smiled

"Yes its Great news." Misty said

"So that's why Bulbasaur bulb was glowing blue and he was shaking, it all makes sense now." Glissle said

Ash didn't share in their enthusiam and instead kept his Gaze on Bulbasaur who didn't seem to be happy that he was going to evolve soon.

"This is a special occasion beacuse Bulbasaur will evolve at a special festival that's just for the Bulbasaur's." Nurse Joy informed them.

"Guess that means other Bulbasaur's will be evolving soon then too." Yellow said

"That's right all the Bulbsaur's go to a secret location that's just for them and once they return become ivysaur's now." Nurse Joy confirmed

Ash didn't care for the conversation anymore beacuse he noticed that Bulbasa didn't look all that comfortable either. He wondered how he and Squirtle must fell seeing Charmander who evolved into chramelon and then charizard. He hoped that they didn't feel insecure about themselves beacuse they were still in their first evolution stage. The last thing he wanted was for them to fell that way.

Everyone decided to stay at the pokémon center that night and were currently asleep. Suddenly Pikachu woke the gang up and told Ash that Bulbas was taken by some other Bulbasaur's. The gang quickly got dressed and followed a trail of sparkling pollen which led them through the woods, some tree roots, with some vines thrasing around. Almost like they are alive.

The gang quickly ran through the vines and came upon a beautiful area that was full of flowers. It was the Great Mysterious Garden where they spotted thousands of Bulbasaur's including Ash.

"This must be it." Ash started

"Look at all of the Bulbasaur's. " Glissle started

"There is so many of them." Yellow started

"Hey look." Brock pointed at a tree.

The tree started to open to revbal a quadruped pokémon with bumpy, blue-green skin. It had small, circular red eyes, a short, blue snout and a wide mouth with two pounted teeth in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw. On top of its head were small, pointed ears with reddish pink insided. It had three clawed toes on each foot. The bud on its back had bloomed in a large pink, white-spotted flower. The flower was supported by a thick, brown

trunk surrounded by green fronds.

"A venusaur!!" Ash gasped and quickly took out his phone to scaned it.

[Venusaur, the final form of the Bulbasaur evolution. This seed pokémon soaks up the sun's ray as a source of energy]

"From that description the Rotom phone makes Venusaur seem more like a plant than a pokémon." Brock commented

"Prof. Oak said some scientists have debated about it." Ash said

"Look, something's happening to the Bulbasaur's." Yellow brought their attention back to the grass type pokémon.

All of the Bulbasaur's are happy they got to evolve, except for Ash's Bulbasaur who doesn't look happy about this at all, Ash was about to call out to him but decided against it knowing that he might put hisd pokémon in danger if he called out to him all of a sudden. The bulbs on all of the Bulbasaur's back again to glow signaling they were about to evolve into their second evolved from, and soon enougj one by one they started evolving into a quadruped pokémon similar to a dinosaur. It had blue green skin with darker patches. On top of its head are pointed ears with black insides and it had narrowed red eyes. It had a short rounded shout with a wide mouth. Two pointed teeth protride from its upper jaw. Each of its feet had three claws on them. The bulb on its back had bloomed into a large pink bud. A short brown trunk surrounded by leafy green fronds supported the bud.

"They are evolving into Ivysaur's." Ash scanned them

[The seed pokémpn, Ivysaur, Bulbasaur's evolved form. The bulb on its hack absorbs nourishment and blooms into a large flower.]

"People have always disagreed as to whether Bulbasaur is a plant or an animal." Glissle said

"Maybe Bulbasaur are a symbol that all life on earth is connected." Misty said

Ash wasn't paying attention to Glissle and Brock's explanation beacuse he was more worried for his Bulbasaur who was clearly struggling not to evolve.

"Bulbasaur's struggling he doesn't want to evolve." said Ash

"That Venusaur doesn't look to happy about it either, look at its expression." said Yellow

It was true Venusaur did not look happy that Ash's Bulbasaur refused to evolve with the rest of Bulbasaur's that were gathered there, and the Ivysaur didn't look too pleased either.

"Venusaur? (Why do you refuse to evolve?)" Venusaur yelled

"What did it say Ash?" Asked Misty

"He said 'why do you refused to evolve?'" Ash said

"It's Upsst beacuse Bulbasaur doesn't want to evolve?why?" Asked yellow

"Probably beacuse this is considered a sacred ritual and for Bulbasaur to reject it, they probably see it as disrespectful." Said Glissle

Ash still kept staring at the Venusaur wanting to see what he'd do since Bulbasaur didn't answer him still resisting the evolution. When he saw Venusaur shoot his vine whip at his friend, not even thinking about his actions and what it might cause, he shot out of his hiding spot grabbing Bulbasaur and getting him out of the way of the Vine whip landing on his side as he cradled his friend in his arms.

"Pika(Ash!!)" Pikachu said of the clearing crouching down in front of his friends as he glowed

"Bulba(Ash)" Bulbasaur cried as his trainer opened his eyes smilling down at him.

"You okay, Bulbasaur?" Ash asked

Bulbasaur nodded still worried about Ash more than himshelf

"That's good."Ash sat up staring Venusaur right in the eye," I am sorry to intrude but I wasn't just going to stand by and let you hurt my friend simply beacuse he doesn't want to evolve."

"Pika (That's right)" pikachu agreed

The other came out hiding at that very moment ready to defend their friend if the situation gets out of hand. Venusaur didn't respond to Ash's word and instead sent some pollen from its back towards a tree that causing it to grow more.

"What's it doing?" Yellow said

"Its manipulating nature." Brock said

Venusaur then looks at Bullbasaur and said,"Venusaur Venusaur(Little one, if you evolve you can do this as well.)

"Ash what did it just say?" Yellow asked

"Venusaur says that if Bulbasaur evolves he can do that too." Ash translated still holding his friend.

Bulbasaur jumped out Ash's arms staring Venusaur down,"Bulbasaur, bulbasaur (I decide when it's the right time to evolve, not you)"

"Bulbasaur... " Ash said

"What did Bulbasaur say?" Yellow asked

"He said, 'I decided when it's the right time to evolve not you'." Ash told them.

"So Bulbasaur wants to decide himshelf wheather he wants to evolve or not." Glissle said

Just then a shadow loomed over them, looking up they saw it Team Rocket who arrived in their hot air ballon

"Team Rocket." Ash glowed

"How did they even get here? Did they follow us?" Brock exclaimed

Team Rocket did their stupid intro before they started sucking up the ivysaur's that were gathered there into a bag and almost got Pikachu  but Bulbasaur Was quicker and grabbed the moonlight pokémon whit his vines pulling his back down.

"Bulbasaur, how about we knock them out of the sky?" Ash told his friend

"Bulbasaur (sounds good to me)" Bulbasaur got ready to get rid of those fools.

"Hey should we capture Bulbasaur as well?" James wondered

Jessie and Meowth laughed,"As if we need that weak little pokémon."He mocked

"Yeah I bet it can't even get us at this height." Meowth laughed

Bulbasaur then shouted to the sky an dthe sun rose over the horizon the sun's ray entered through the opening into the top of the bulb in his back.

"Is that it is." Ash smiled.

Bulbasaur gave Ash a look who returned it,"Bulbasaur Use solar beam!!!"

The bulb glowed and a huge blue beam of energy shot out hitting the ballon causing it to explode. Bulbasaur then used Razor leaf to free the Ivysaur. Then Team Rocket's basket landed amongst the Venusaur, Ivysaur and bulbasaur.

Team Rocket stood up in their basket then they flinched when they saw the murderous gazes of the Ivysaur's.

"Things look bad." james trembled.

"Oh they are about to get worse." Meowth panicked

All the Ivysaur including Venusaur and Bulbasaur shoot their vines at Team Rocket sending them flying,"TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN."

"Pika pi." said pikachu

Ash smiled and was about to congratulate his friend when all of a sudden Bulbasaur's whole body lit up taking everyobe bys urprise,"No way Bulbasaur?"

In place of bulbasaur was an Ivysaur,"Ivysaur!!"

"Bulbasaur evolved." Yellow gasped

"But I thought Bulbasaur didn't want to evolve." Brock said

Ash got down on one knee,"You decided to evopve? What made you change your mind?"He questioned

"Ivysaur ( I want evolve on my own terms)"Bulbasaur replied

" your own terms?"Ash blinked and then realized,"so you decided that you would evolve after you learned solar beam?"

Bulbasaur nodded with a smile.

Ash smiled and hugged Bulbasaur who smiled in return, "Congratulation, Bulbasaur."

Bulbasaur turned to venusaur,"Ivysaur (I don't meed someone to tell me to evolve beacuse i decide when it's the right tim eti evolve and that time is now.)"

Venusaur nodded his head in respect to his decison and streched out his vine towards the newly evolved Ivysaur who did the same thing. All in all everything worked out okay.

Having made the choice to evolve itshelf Bulbasaur, now Ivysaur Has gained more than the respect of gathered grass type around him but has also forged a more powerfup bond with Ash. With that Ash and his friends were on the road once again.
