Chapter 78 - Envy and Pride
When Miyuki was separating the massive firestorm into many small parts, somewhere away from the battlefield, a group of people moved towards the Abyss Demons trapped in the sword prison.
"He has pulled back the people; In most likely case, he is running out of power. Our job is to free those Legend Rank Abyss demons, and then we will retreat." One of them in the forefront shouted orders.
The other one beside them spoke, "what about that woman stopping those Black Gold beasts? she is occupied; if we sneak attack, we might be able to take her down."
The man in the forefront spoke while shaking his head, "before master comes out of his retreat, let's not offend him completely."
Soon, they reached the area where the legend rank demons were trapped.
"Attack a single sword together!" These swords stopped the beast tide and imprisoned legend rank demons; they weren't sure they could free the Abyss demon if they didn't attack a single one together.
One of them transformed and punched the sword, while black spheres appeared, crashing into it, at the same time.
More than ten Black Gold followed their lead and merged with demon beast spirits before attacking a single sword in front.
Tatsuya noticed their presence; he didn't stop them because it was about time these were released.
He weakened the prison and swords severely. Otherwise, even if they used all their powers, they still wouldn't be able to scratch it.
That was how much stronger Tatsuya was than others; only Yu Yan matched him in terms of powers. And, with nearly 30 percent of her power restored, she was far more powerful than anyone he has met before.
When their attacks hit the swords, wide shockwaves rose from the sword, small cracks appeared on it, small cracks formed on the ground where the sword was.
It didn't take long before the sword crumbled; the people from the dark guild ran away as soon as they saw the sword breaking.
Good thing they ran away because as soon as the sword was filled with crack, a hand pierced it, breaking it.
Before with many swords imprisoning them, the legend rank abyss demon didn't have any freedom of movement; they couldn't even move their arms. These swords trapping them were filled with light and sacred energy that injured them whenever they tried to move and kept them trapped.
With one of the swords broken, one of them finally had enough space to move one arm. They also felt that the prison had become much weaker.
It pushed away from the other swords before slowly coming out of the prison.
It howled, the ground shook with his howl, everyone in Glory City felt their eardrums quivering.
It took its weapon before slashing the other swords and freeing the other Legend Rank Abyss Demons trapped.
Although Abyss Demons were crazy, they knew they alone couldn't defeat Tatsuya. It was a sharp instinct that allowed them to unite.
Gui Sha laughed while escaping, "Fuck!! that feels so much better. I will see how that fucking brat handles this now!!" He had been furious; for the past few months, he had lost more than once. He was also suppressed by that woman. Finally, he found a way to vent.
Long Sha had a dignified look on his face; he wasn't sure that it was enough to take Tatsuya down. But, he didn't want to bring the morale down.
"Let's get away as fast as we can."
Tatsuya glanced at the Abyss Demons moving towards him; everywhere they stepped, the ground cracked. Their aura alone pushed everyone back. As one would expect of legend rank.
'Ning'Er, they are all yours.'
"Yes!!!!" She shouted at the top of her voice; anyone could hear the bubbling excitement in her voice.
Seeing Ning'Er leave, Ziyun tightened her fist; she wanted to fight too. But, she knew she would only get in her way.
Miyuki, on the other hand, had finally separated the maelstrom into tens of much smaller fireballs.
She gazed at the snow wind ape demon beast with a smile, "You are too late."
She swung her hands, pushing all those fireballs towards the demon beasts.
The one at the forefront didn't feel any danger and used all of its power to punch the fireball, trying to blast it away. The moments its punch collided with the fireball; it exploded into much smaller harmless sparks that floated in the air.
The other demon beasts noticed this; they also followed the lead and punched the fireballs apart.
Only small sparks were left in place of the fireballs.
Yu Yan was filled with doubt; she didn't think Miyuki would do something useless.
Miyuki's eyes flashed, and a mischievous smile appeared on her face, "Flame Prison!"
As the words left her mouth, those sparks floating in the air became brighter before spreading all around the black gold snow wind beasts and trapping them in a circular prison made of flame.
Painful cries of the demon beasts spread from those circular flame prisons; not only did it trap them, but it was also continuously burning them.
Miyuki looked at the scene, with a satisfactory smile, before clapping her hands together, "they won't create trouble for a while."
Yu Yan was absolutely astonished by what she witnessed, "how can you wield it's power so effortlessly?" She knew their demon spirits were special, but that should allow Miyuki to wield her power so freely. This was her first time using this power.
Miyuki tilted her head in confusion, "it's easy. I can manipulate fire as I want." She spread her palm before a small flame appeared on it. Soon, it changed shape and took the appearance of a figure that looked like Yu Yan, "It's second nature to me."
She really didn't lie; be it Shiva, Leviathan, or Ifrit, she could use their power as freely as she liked.
Unlike them, people here used demon spirits like weapons. In their case, they fully merged with the demon spirits and used their powers as if they were their own.
Ning'Er glanced at the demon beast after hearing their cries, then looked back at the Abyss Demons in front of her, "I'll start with a big one!!"
"Tempest!!!" with her shout, violent winds rose up, surrounding the four Abyss Demons. The winds circled around the Abyss Demons before increasing in size. Unlike Miyuki, she didn't have the luxury to hold back.
As the winds became stronger; storm rose in the surrounding. Even Nie Li, Du Ze, and others who had decided to go back and help stop those Legend Rank Abyss demons were blown away by the strong winds.
"Thunder!!!" Ning'Er voiced echoed in the surrounding. Within the vortex of sharp winds trapping the abyss demons, thunder appeared. It struck the Abyss demons again and again.
The abyss demons struggled as they tried to slash the vortex apart with all their strength but were pushed back.
Bodies of Abyss demons started to burst apart; every time the thunder fell on them.
Ziyun was stupified seeing this scene; she and everyone else on platforms were protected by Tatsuya's soul force. Otherwise, they would have been blown away.
Although Ning'Er was strong, she couldn't keep it up. Slowly, her attack started weakening.
Abyss demons didn't let go of this opportunity; they used all their power to pave a path and walked out.
Ziyun gazed at Tatsuya, "I want to go and help!"
'You will only be in the way.'
Ziyun's face became flushed, "I won't be!! I am Black Gold rank! I can fight!"
'They are legend rank; you can't fight them.'
Ziyun pouted; she wanted to forcefully go and fight, but Tatsuya's pressure stopped her from moving. Soon, tears appeared in her eyes.
Tatsuya sighed before looking towards Nie Li and the others.
Nie Li had merged with fanged panda and used gravity to stop themselves from being completely blown away.
He was staring at the Abyss demons that were starting to come out.
"They are damaged; let's go help her."
He started running towards the Abyss demons. Du Ze and others followed behind him, "Tatsuya isn't moving?"
Lu Piao looked back at Tatsuya, who was using his soul force to protect everyone, "Maybe, he can't move?!!"
Nie Li nodded, "He might be protecting the city from collateral damage. Miyuki has trapped those snow wind demon beasts. We need to take care of these Abyss Demons, and then we can focus on those snow wind demon beasts. We have to kill them before his energy runs out."
He was surprised to see that even Ning'Er was so strong. Although he knew that she was a staunch woman, she disappeared in Heavenly Sacred Border. He didn't realize she had this much potential. He felt it may have something to do with the fact that her demon spirit was given to her by Tatsuya and Miyuki.
Demon Spirits they used were different from the demon spirits that he had seen.
When he was in range, he used a Yin Yang blast filled with law energy to attack one of the abyss demons.
As soon as the attack connected, a huge blast covered one of the abyss demons. Shortly, another Yin Yang blast hit the same demon beasts.
It screeched from pain before widely swinging his sword.
Nie Li looked at Ning'Er floating in the air and shouted, "We will try to take care of two or three of them!!"
Ning'Er glanced at him and nodded; she raised her hand in the sky, "Piercing rain!!" numerous swords of wind and thunder appeared in the sky. As her hands pointed towards the ground, thousands of swords fell on the Abyss demons.
Lu Piao's mouth twitched, "didn't she agree to us handle them?"
Du Ze laughed, "maybe you hurt her pride."
Nie Li rubbed the back of his hairs sighing, "I didn't mean to."
