Chapter 32 - Why this world?

Tatsuya was standing at the edge of the plateau, looking towards Black Spring. When he used Elemental Sight to search to find Heavenly Fate Plateau, this place blocked his investigation.

Last time, First something hid Nie Li's information from him, then something in the tomb interfered with Elemental Sight and, this was the third time he came across something that was able to interact with his Elemental Sight.

He knew one thing for sure anything that was able to interact with Elemental Sight was probably the highest tier treasure of this world.

He started walking towards the dark forest, when he was inside he could see this place filled with black fog. The moment he inhaled this black fog it started poisoning him. He was about to use Regrowth to remove the poison when System Screen Popped up.

Main Mission 3 - Deal With Traitor of Glory City.

Accepting the mission will allow you to view the development logs of your bloodline. Will you accept the mission? Y/N?

Tatsuya was lost in thought after seeing this. 'Accepting will allow me to keep tabs on my progress and decide the development route but, it will also allow the system to keep constant tabs over me.'

Soon he shook his head, there was no proof that the system was already not doing that. The reason he chose this bloodline was that it didn't grant any active ability. It did grant him passive abilities. Above all, he wanted a bloodline related to the soul since his powers were now mixed with his soul.

He chose to leave it be for the time being.

While thinking about this he didn't bother removing poison through regrowth. He felt this bloodline granted him something related to the poison which is what made system notification pop up.

Deeper he walked deeper the poison became but, for some reason he didn't feel the effects of poison.

As he passed through the area he finally reached a muddy marsh area.

He continued walking, his steps didn't fall into the muddy marsh, he used pseudo flight to keep walking on the marsh. Ever since he bought this bloodline using soul related or rather any skill became much easier.

He finally reached a big stone, looking below, there's a cliff with a trail of black spring water flowing down, forming a vast waterfall. On the cliffs, there's a bulged up platform.

He put on his hood and used bent light to hide and started floating down. He could feel a terrifying aura emitting from the pool and hear the roars of demon beasts.

Soon, he reached a platform near the bottom of the cliff.

Looking at mysterious inscription he directly used elemental sight to read its information 'Three sealing inscription patterns with the Lighting attribute and six Sacred Flame offensive inscription patterns.'

He could use decomposition to erase these inscriptions but then he didn't know what was being sealed inside. Let alone that would give a chance to these demon beasts. They wanted to keep that thing inside and he needed to know what it was that demon beasts wanted to keep in.

The only thing he could do is slowly figure out a way to break this array within 24hours and use regrowth to restore this array after he was inside.

He slowly started breaking the array, it took him hours to break the offensive arrays until finally, he was able to break the sealing arrays, after he broke them he walked inside. Calculating this might be very difficult for others but with his computation powers, it only took him a few hours. That too was because he didn't have enough knowledge.

When he finished breaking the inscription patterns, the cliff wall started to tremble.

The wall gradually opened up. Looking into the opening, Tatsuya saw that it's a serene and deep cave. The cave is damp, droplets of water would fall to the ground, converge together, and became a stream of water.

Shortly after getting inside, he used regrowth to restore the arrays as they were.

Looking at the damp cave he started reading information 'of' the cave, looking at the traps made by placed here and there, he directly walked over avoiding them.

Walking inside he was sure of one thing, this formation was not to keep the thing here inside but to keep demon beasts outside from coming in.

'I wonder, what kind of treasure is it that the expert made so much preparation to protect it.'

At the corner of the cave, there's something that was emitting a dazzling light. Tatsuya took a few steps forward, towards the direction of the light. His eyesight also began to expand.

This is a huge cave, filled with purple crystals the size of the lower half of a millstone. He has no idea what those are, nor how they were emitting faint purple light, illuminating this cave, when there is no light to shine onto them.

In the middle of this cave was a huge pond. Black colored spring water was coming out from the top, but the pond wasn't overflowed. Who knows where it was flowing to.

He glanced at the Black Spring and barrier over it but didn't walk over there, he moved to the side following a rock trail until he reached the corpses.

There were fragments of six corpses. The bodies have already rotted away, leaving only a few remnants of bones behind. These bones have also pretty much decayed.

He observed the energy on them, he sat down and started observing the energy on them. It was much denser and heavier than soul force.

Maybe a few hours passed, Tatsuya stopped and rubbed his eyes. He didn't need eyes to watch it, his elemental sight didn't need any of his senses. 'Interesting, the way above Legend is related to these energies?'

He wanted to see the effect of this energy, looking at the barries over black spring he decided to break it. Just when he was about to touch it a fluctuation caught his attention.

When he looked over, a faint figure slowly appeared above the pond. It's a beautiful woman with an unparalleled appearance. She looks to be roughly around twenty-five or twenty-six years old. She's wearing a black muslin, has slender long brows, and clear eyes that showed an indescribable sacred and pure look. Under the muslin, the curves of her figure could be seen.

She slowly opened her eyes. The atmosphere above the Black Spring instantly changed, turning into an endless sea of stars.

Her eyes are deep and moving, emitting a kind of faint light as though she could see through everything. There was also a faint flame ignited over the surface of her body, as a red layer of clouds covered her cheeks.

If it's any other person, they would be attracted and be distracted by her beauty but, other than Miyuki barely any beauty was able to move his heart. He noticed she similarly had that denser and heavier energy.

"I have waited for several tens of thousands of years. I never thought that there would finally be people arriving here. Young man, what's your name?" her voice was very faint and was irregularly changing.

"Shiba Tatsuya and you?"

She lightly said, "My name is Yu Yan, the Fire Spiritual God."

A slight smile appeared on his lips, spiritual gods, this was the term Nie Li told Miyuki about when she asked him the information.

Tatsuya nodded, "Can you tell me about spiritual gods?"

Yu Yan's image looked at Tatsuya, showed a faint gentle smile on her face, and said, "We're the Spiritual Gods of this world, in control of all kinds of Laws in the heavens and earth. I am in control of fire, it's just that my physical body has been dissipated. My Divine Spark has been destroyed, becoming extremely small clusters of dust that have to scatter to every corner of this world. However, we, Spiritual Gods, are indestructible. After a few tens of thousands of years, my Divine Spark will gradually re-gather together and reform my physical body."

Tatsuya looked at her a shine appeared in his eyes, "How many spiritual gods are there in this world? Who put you in this state? what is the relationship between the age of darkness and spiritual gods?"

Yu Yan heard his questions and said, "Spiritual Gods are the gods of this world. Every main world can only have thirty-six Spiritual Gods. One subsidiary realm can only have one Spiritual God. They wield one law from the heavens and earth. All Spiritual Gods represent the world's laws."

"Since ancient times, among the thirty-six Spiritual Gods in our main world and all the affiliated seventy-two Spiritual Gods from the subsidiary worlds, one-fourth are represented by humanity, two-fourths are by demon beasts and one-fourth is by other living creatures. They are the powerful rulers of this world." Yu Yan slowly said, "To contest over the laws, the tribes that we have control of unfolded an endless amount of killing. In the end, many Spiritual Gods were extinguished. Some were like me and had their Divine Sparks destroyed and physical bodies cease to exist."

"We wield the laws of the heavens and earth. Such as myself, I control the Law of Fire. Only when I'm truly dead and have lost the control over the Law of Fire, the next one can take over the Law of Fire and become the new Fire Spiritual God." said Yu Yan.

"Tens of thousands of years ago, the demon beast clan tried to kill all the Spiritual Gods of our human clan to gain control of our laws, which is why they launched the battle against the human clan. Although we combined our strength and utterly defeated the demon beast clan, we suffered casualties and were nearly exhausted. My dispersed Divine Sparks can sense that a Spiritual God has been born in the demon beast clan and is trying to destroy the inheritance of my human clan. Ever since they came to this world Tatsuya finally had an idea of what was going on in this world. Now the only thing to figure out was why this world?
