Chapter 168 - You Understand?

"Hmm...where is she?"

"She is taking a bath..." Izumi replied to Tatsuya, her eyes turned serious, "Say? where did you run off to?"

Tatsuya ran his finger through his hairs. He couldn't outright say that for some reason, he felt flustered. So he went outside to distract himself.

"I went to check something... on that note, I need to ask you something."

"Oh sure...go ahead."

Tatsuya narrowed his eyes, watching Izumi and Sig, who were sitting in their living room. He sat down in front of them, Tatsuya quietened down, thinking about what to ask.

Even he wasn't sure what those things were if they weren't human. What was going on with this country? He highly doubted that Izumi would know, but, he had no doubt, she might be in danger IF she knows.

"What is it?"

"Hm...nothing forget it."

Izumi stared at him before letting out a breath and smiling, "If you say so."

Devil's Nest, Underground,

It was an underground room with a concrete floor and on those floors.

Greed was lying down with his hand on his stomach.

Martel, the girl with Tattoo, looked at the large man wearing a military uniform, with his muscles busting out from his clothes, "Roa!! What is wrong with him?! Why isn't he healing?!!"

"I don't know, could be some type of Alchemy?"

Dolcetto was the short man, "Of course we know it is some kind of Alchemy! Don't worry! it is Greed; he can survive his head getting blasted off he would be fine!"

Greed grunted while lying on the ground, "it's...Hah...Not...Ha...Healing."

"What?!!"

"Not healing?!"

"Hmmm?!!!"

His stomach was in chaos; it wasn't healing even a bit. It was like the energy that healed him was avoiding it altogether. It was getting redirected, no matter what he did. But, he could feel it...the redirected healing energy was slowly and slowly coming closer to his stomach. But, he didn't know how long would it take.

At this moment, a tiny build bald man with long fingernails and odd splotches of skin discoloration on his body.

Hawkeye walked inside the room with some books in her hands.

Her presence was enough to send every one of Roy's men into alert as they started working with a new Zeal.

Hawkeye put the book on the table, "Sir, they are all the books we could find on Alkahestry!" There were barely any books on it; she had to go to remote places to find them. Even then, she only found a handful of them.

"Ho..." Roy put down his legs and picked one of the top books with a lazy smile, "Good Work, Lt. Hawkeye."

"Sir, Yes Sir, and about the two of them, sources tell me, they are in Dublith, staying with an Alchemist."

"Is that so..." Roy said while turning the page of the book. 'Alkahestry...huh...'

And so, a few days later,

Tatsuya and Miyuki were moving towards the Train Station with their bags.

"Onii-sama?"

"Yeah, that is because of me... let's take that alley."

"Your new friends?"

"I doubt that."

They walked inside the alley; it didn't take long after, they were surrounded by two men and a woman.

Roa crossed his arms, looking at them, "We would like to invite you with us."

"I understand you want to cure that guy, but he would be fine by the evening."

"HAH!! You think we can trust you!!!" Martel standing behind them, shouted in anger. If it wasn't for that, attacking Izumi's house would not only bring the Military's attention, but they also might be captured.

Miyuki sniffed the air twice to confirm what she was smelling, "you are not human?"

Her eyes turned to startled Martel, "a snake," she looked at Roa, "An ox? no bull?" She tilted her hand after seeing Dolcetto, "a dog?" her eyes turned to the wall as if something was hiding there, "a gecko?"

As she said, that Bido peeked his head from over the wall, stunned, and climbed down.

Martel pointed at her in shock, "you...what are you?"

Tatsuya was a bit surprised too, "you can tell that with just smell?"

Miyuki shook her head, "not just smell, there is something like an aura of those animals surrounding them."

"I thought smelling was my department!" Dolcetto spoke, shrugging his shoulders with a smile.

Tatsuya narrowed his eyes, "Chimera..." He had read about them in the Alchemy Materials.

Martel wasn't the one with much patience; she dodged the knife using her flexibility and jumped on Miyuki. But, Miyuki stepped back and used the force of Martel's lunge to turn her over, throwing her down to the ground.

She put her leg on Martel's neck, "I would like you all to stop."

"Ughh!!" Martel seemingly wanted to struggle, but Miyuki's leg only pushed down with more force.

Roa put Dolcetto down before calmly looking towards Martel, "Hmm...Ok."

Miyuki directly asked Tatsuya, "Onii-sama, how did you provoke them?"

"Long story short, their boss wanted my sunglasses, so I put him on the bed for some time... he should be ok by the evening."

Miyuki nodded, removing her leg from Martel's neck, who jumped away at the opportunity.

"You heard him; your boss would be fine by the evening. No need to go through this trouble." Miyuki could only try to reason with them.

"Hmm... that's true, but you do understand we can't just trust you with that. What if the boss doesn't get better?"

Miyuki gazed at Roa, before asking Tatsuya, "Onii-sama...can't you cure the man now?"

Tatsuya didn't ask her what her plan was; he simply walked out of the alley. Martel wanted to stop him, but Roa stopped her. He just looked at her and shaking his head. His instincts were starting to act up; not only him, Martel, and Dolcetto also started feeling the danger.

The three of them were just distracted by Tatsuya and the sense of danger when they heard the scratching sounds. They looked at the front, but by then, Miyuki had already used the knife to scratch a transmutation circle on the wall.

While Miyuki was attacking Roa, Dolcetto found the opportunity to take out his sword to attack her.

Miyuki took one of the knives and put it on Martel's neck, "I can feel it; we can take it a step further, but then I might have to kill you to put you down."

She eased the hold around on the Martel, who had been squirming to get some air.

Miyuki narrowed her eyes, looking at them apathetically, "Onii-sama and I are on a trip. And I don't want anything or anyone to get in the way. So be kind and leave us alone. Or, I Will kill all of you to make sure no one get's in the way. Do we have an understanding?"
