Tatsuya was resting on his bed with a pillow on his face. Trying to keep even the moonlight from falling on his face.
Suddenly he felt a weight on his body, "Boy! stop sulking over being rejected! I want to ask you something!"
Tatsuya held the pillow more tightly on his face without answers.
A hand caught the pillow snatching it away from Tatsuya.
Tatsuya barely opened his eyes, seeing Long Shuyun sitting on him, perplexed, "I... am sulking?" He wasn't sure what he was doing. All of a sudden, he felt like being alone in the room. Well, it could be called sulking, "sulking..." Tatsuya said.
"Leave that be! tell me, what is this?" Long Shuyun said, showing Tatsuya a paper with a diagram build on it.
There were nine flames build across the page with a small demon beast drawn next to them. Each of the nine had inscription patterns drawn on it. Other than demon beasts, there was an arrow pointing towards the center of the page from each. At the center of the page was a large question mark.
Tatsuya took the paper away from her, "You shouldn't look at another person's personal stuff."
Long Shuyun adjusted her lower body on Tatsuya's, leaning on him. She put her thumb on Tatsuya's lip, "Kid if you tell me what that is. I will give you a big reward."
Tatsuya flinched; he felt his veins pulsating, his head started throbbing as if it would break. His breath slightly sped up, "don't do this." He said while catching Long Shuyun's hand; unrestrained thoughts started appearing in his head, his right sclera started turning black. At the same time, he felt his eyes becoming heavy.
Abruptly his breath calmed down as he fell asleep.
Long Shuyun was startled, "Kid!!" She patted his cheek to wake him up.
She tried a few ways to wake him up, but he didn't budge. Soon, five people appeared beside them.
Among the three men and two women, Long Shuyun's mother was standing at the forefront.
She came forward and put a hand on Tatsuya's forehead, "His emotions are in disarray. The fluctuation seems like something is colliding against each other." She used her soul force to calm him down. They had been watching after they realized Long Shuyun had sneaked into a student's courtyard.
In little time they knew about him more than Long Shuyun, even his dealing with the Gu Clan's girl. It could be said that the techniques he used on Long Shuyun impressed them. Very few could use abilities like those.
Above all, it seemed he possessed a very rare bloodline. There was a wide gap in each small realm, wide enough that it was hard to cross. Bloodline abilities allowed someone to jump one or two ranks, but he was unique enough that he was able to put Shuyun out of order. Even if it was because he caught Shuyun off guard, but that meant if he could catch others off guard, he might defeat them.
The man with grey hair looked at Shuyun, "what did you do?"
Shuyun stood up respectfully, "I didn't do anything...although it might be related to this..." She said while showing them the paper.
The grey-haired one took the paper. At first, he was confused, but soon shouted, "Impossible."
Long Shuyun shrugged, "I thought so too."
The one who looked most important in the group took the paper, "let me see."
The other two who hadn't seen also peeked in the paper, the only one that was left was Hierarch LingLong, who had been trying to calm Tatsuya down. She asked in her gentle, bone-melting voice, "will sect master tell me?"
The man who was holding the paper was sect master of Divine Feathers Sect, Hierarch Martialsky. Next to him were Hierarch Crimsonblood and Hierarch Dragonblaze. The grey-haired one was Hierarch Skycloud.
Martialsky spoke, knitting his brows, he turned the paper so Linglong could see, "these flames might be fate souls. That demon beast against each denotes that every Fate soul with those inscription patterns could hold one. When one reaches Dao of Dragon, their fate soul becomes one. The question mark might be for what happens to the nine demon beasts then."
Linglong looked amazed as she parted her beautiful red lips, but soon she shook her head, "It is impossible." She meant that putting a demon beast in another Fate Soul.
Long Shuyun peeked at her, "there seems to papers filled with profound inscription patterns on his table."
*Gasps*
Skycloud disappeared without saying anything. In the next moment, he appeared with the whole table.
While they were going through the papers, Tatsuya was standing in the void.
"Hahaha...surprised to see me!!!" The Grey One was standing in front of him with his hands wide open.
Tatsuya greeted, "you are still so predictable."
The hollow stopped laughing and calmed down, "It seems you predicted I would appear."
"You have grown; I thought you would mindlessly attack me."
The Grey One curled his lips, "Don't joke; you probably knew I would act like this."
Tatsuya didn't say anything, just walked towards him.
The Grey One raised his chin upwards as he looked towards, "Did you let me take over? So, those idiots could see through your research?"
Tatsuya nodded, "I need guinea pigs, whom I could experiment on. They are the ones who could provide the best guinea pigs. After all, with their information network, if I experiment with someone, they might learn of it."
The Grey One slumped a little when Tatsuya patted his shoulder, "So you used me to produce a situation they would believe...Your sulking was believable...Next time...I..." As he disintegrated, his words echoed in the void.
Tatsuya laid down in the void, closing his eyes, "sulking was genuine...it was...a new experience." He knew the hollow would restore sooner than expected when he visited Long Yuyins past.
Skycloud had a paper in each hand, "Turning Fate Soul into artificial Soul Realm that could be used to merge with Demon Spirits...This is just ingenious."
Martialsky was frowning, "But, when someone reaches Dao of Dragon Realm, their Fate Souls merge into one. Won't the demon spirits destroy themselves when they merge?"
Skycloud nodded, "that might happen."
Linglong's eyes flashed as she saw one of the papers beside her, "Yes, this is useless. The kid probably doesn't know the consequences."
She took the papers from everyone before putting them away from their hands reach, "this is my grandson in law research. You are elders; you should know seeing someone's research without their permission is rude. Don't think there is no one to protect my grandson in-laws rights."
Martialsky and others' mouths twitched as they watched Linglong, 'so shameless...' They all had the same thought in their mind.
Skycloud coughed, "Hierarch Linglong, how did he become your grandson in law?"
Linglong curled her lips, " Of course the boy loves my granddaughter; he even became blind for her. I agree with their relationship."
Long Shuyun nodded again and again with a smile, completely agreeing with her mother.
Martialsky glanced at her, "he said this was just an experiment; his eyes will not stay blind."
Linglong curled her lips and let out a small laugh, "the boy is just being shy. After all, he is still young."
Martialsky's mouth twitched, if it was before seeing his research, even he thought so. But, after seeing it, he was sure that might just be a small experiment for the boy.
Linglong noticed the sudden calmness in Tatsuya's Soulforce and emotions before removing her hand, "it seems he is better." She was thinking if she should make him faint for a bit longer.
Just as she was in a dilemma, Tatsuya opened his eyes. He gazed at Linglong before looking at Long Shuyun, "Your sister?" Those of Martial Ancestor Realm had a long lifespan; Linglong didn't look a day older than 27 or 28.
Linglong seemed happy as she stroked Tatsuya's forehead, "No, boy, I am her mother."
Tatsuya widened his eyes in disbelief before calming down, "Thank you for helping me. Without you, I might have to scrap my Fate Soul."
Martialsky looked particularly anxious, "Don't tell me you experimented with your fate soul!!"
Tatsuya seemed surprised as to how they knew about that.
Martialsky avoided his examining eyes.
Long Shuyun saved him from embarrassment, "you suddenly collapsed; I thought it might have to do with your research, so I showed them."
Tatsuya hesitantly nodded before he looked at the others nervously, "If you don't mind me asking, who are you?"
Long Shuyun narrowed her eyes; she felt Tatsuya was acting weird, "They are the five hierarchs, leaders of Divine Feather Sect."
Tatsuya stood up startled; he rose from bed before cupping his fist towards them, "My apologies, I have been rude."
They nodded, waving their hand, "you don't need to be so polite."
After that, He calmly bowed towards Long Shuyun in apology, "Lady Shuyun, please forgive me. Because of the problem in the Fate soul, I treated you inappropriately."
Long Shuyun's eyes twitched when she saw that; the kid was acting. She was sure of it. Although his way of talking hadn't changed, he looked way more obedient than before.
She didn't believe it for a second. Could it be because of the five here? But, how did that make any difference? They were always watching; they would have heard the whole thing.
Widening her eyes, she sent a voice transmission to her mother, 'Did you hear the whole thing?'
Linglong looked surprised, but she didn't turn to see Shuyun, 'Almost all of it, there were times when the array protecting this courtyard got in the way. It seemed the boy has changed a few things in the array, just he didn't have the time to complete it. If he had we might not have been able to see a thing.'
