Aaaaoouuuuu!!

Finishing his mighty long howl, the big Werewolf decided to head back inside the hut.

But he abruptly stopped when he was called by someone.

"Jarvald!"

The big Werewolf, Jarvald stops in his tracks and turns his body towards the caller.

"What is it Zegrath?"

"When is our next raid? I want to kill more humans!"

Compared to Jarvald, the Werewolf that calls him, Zegrath looks young, and it's also not as big as the other normal Werewolves. However, his eyes emit a deeper shade of hatred as even his body was trembling.

"No need to hurry, it will begin when I tell you so"

Jarvald didn't idle for too long and resumed back to his hut, intending to leave Zegrath.

In return, Zegrath who was consumed by the impatience of hatred couldn't take it anymore, he would go crazy if he was forced to wait any longer which is why he decided to rebut despite Jarvald's direct words.

"But Jarvald-!"

Before he could even utter another word, Jarvald grabbed his neck and lifted him up.

"Remember your place, Omega. Do your job and make others happy"

Upon being growled right in front of his face, Zegrath realized that he had overstepped and lowered his gaze submissively. It was only then that Jarvald let him go before Zegrath scurried away and left.

In the morning.

Rex wakes up from his sleep early in the morning after hearing someone banging the door.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Without the need to ask, Rex already knows that it is Rosie.

Glancing over at the watch, he became even angrier as it was too early for her to be like this.

'This girl... It's Saturday for heaven's sake!'

Rex quickly got up and opened the door and was greeted with Rosie wearing neat clothes earlier in the morning, it would've been a lie if he didn't say that she was looking as beautiful as ever right now.

"What?!" He barked grumpily.

"Surprise! Happy Birthday!"

Instead of barking back, Rosie suddenly exclaimed with a black box in her hand.

She then hands over the classy black box and a brown handbag.

Upon looking at the gifts that she brought, Rex shifted his gaze back to her in confusion.

"It's not my birthday...?"

But finding that Rosie didn't budge, certain that it was his birthday today, Rex looks at his phone again and finds that it was actually his birthday today. 'Huh... In the military, I never once celebrated my birthday. It's so strict there that I even forgot my own birthday'

Realizing that he was in the wrong, his smile blossoms.

"How do you know?"

"Do you really need to ask? Of course, I know. That's what a girlfriend does!"

Finding that Rex was caught off guard, she gave him a sweet wink.

Upon seeing her teasing him, Rex could only shake his head and accept the gifts.

Rex invites her inside, and Rosie's cheeks turn a charming shade of crimson in response. But she accepted and stepped inside, and she couldn't help herself but look around, taking in everything she could.

Sitting on a chair, he opens the black box and sees a green stone inside.

Casting a confused look at Rosie, she then explained the green stone while puffing her already big chest forward in pride. "That is a rank four healing stone, it can instantly heal all of your injuries"

"Wow, thanks for this. Really..." Rex thanked her genuinely.

It's a gift that could potentially save his life in a dire situation, so he was thankful for this.

He then opened the brown handbag, opened the wrapping, and saw a black bracelet with a red stone decorating it. The bracelet is designed like the world serpent where a snake bites its tail, Rex thinks the design looks cool.

"That is a bracelet that you must wear all the time. Besides its cool-looking design, it will also tell me your location. Essentially, a 24/7 real-time location sharing!" Rosie added with a big smile on her face.

But this caught Rex off guard, and he was speechless.

"Am I your pet?"

"Well, I'm forced to give this with you disappearing yesterday without telling me. Hmph!"

Rosie pouted, whipping her face to the side, and crossed her arms.

Looking at her acting like a possessive girlfriend, he could only laugh dryly in response.

"I got stuff to do at Tom's mansion"

"Tom's mansion...? You mean the Frostbrand?"

Finding out where he went yesterday, Rosie's ears perked up and she knit her eyes.

"Umm, Yes?", Rex started to sweat under Rosie's gaze.

Just like that, the surprise birthday gifts turned into an interrogation, Rex could feel her gaze burning the side of his face like a pair of lasers. "Tom is Laura's brother, right? Are you sure you went there because of Tom?" She asked suspiciously. She knew that Rex was not close to Tom.

Rex was put into a spot, he started brainstorming to find the right answer.

But it was then he heard a sudden knock on the door.

Scratching the side of his face with his finger, he then gazed at the door with an awkward smile on his face, "Hmm...? Who is it this early? How annoying. Wait here" He said while secretly thanking the person who was knocking on the door.

Opening the door once again, he found that it was Adhara.

Adhara also brought some stuff in her hand.

"I saw on my phone that today is your birthday, so I brought you a gift", she said shyly.

Listening to her soft words, Rex was touched.

Unlike Rosie, Adhara looks more like a sweet girlfriend than her, 'This is how a girlfriend should be', Rex thought while nodding his head.

Rex immediately opened the gift and saw a black battle glove that emitted a red hue. It stunned him for a moment before that surprise turned into excitement, this is exactly the style that he wanted!

A black battle glove with an iron plate on the back of the hand and nothing else.

It's the perfect glove to use against bladed attacks.

"Do you like it...?"

"Yes!"

Rex's eyes seemed to contain glazing stars as he was genuinely happy with this gift.

Obviously, this reaction made Adhara happy inside.

"A rank four Fire Elementalist imbued it. So, your attacks will contain fire properties"

While listening to her explanation, Rex tries it on, and surprisingly, it fits perfectly in his hand.

"So, did I do well?" Adhara asked, looking at him expectantly. 

Hearing this Rex nodded his head furiously when suddenly, "Then can you choke me?"

"Yes!" Rex didn't even think before answering, nodding his head furiously again.

But it was then, he abruptly stopped and realized what she was saying. On the other hand, Adhara was putting on her cute face, excited by his answer. 'I can resist it! I can...' Fighting against the temptation, he finds his hand moving on its own and grabs ahold of Adhara's neck before slightly squeezing it.

"Who is it, Rex? What makes you take so long?

Suddenly, Rosie comes out from the back. But she instantly covered her mouth in shock.

"REX! WHAT IS THIS!" She screamed hysterically.

Rex immediately turns his face towards her, "I- It's not what you think!"

"Not what I think my ass! You're still choking her!" Rosie screamed in horror. She couldn't believe that Rex played with Adhara behind her back, and even daringly showed their affection openly like this.

Listening to the commotion, the students around started glancing at them.

Rosie ignored them and screamed like a madwoman.

"HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ON ME!"

"AM I NOT ENOUGH?"

"CHOKE ME INSTEAD!"

Just like that, Rex's Saturday morning began.

"Rosie, are you still mad?"

Rex asks from the side tiredly, it's already been twenty minutes and she is still turning her head away, unwilling to look at him. Currently, the three of them are already on the way to the mall section.

It was earlier that he decided to treat the girls for some food.

They finally settle in a ramen restaurant. Adhara orders the food before sitting back down.

Despite the crowded place, the atmosphere between them is tense.

Adhara sends a mocking smile a couple of times at Rosie which makes her angrier at Rex.

Just as he was about to say something, a sirene rang throughout the university.

"Attention to all Third and Fourth-year students, immediate preparation and assembly at the south entrance are required. A rank-four threat has appeared in Gaver City. I repeat, attention to all available..."

Upon hearing this, Rex frowns for a moment. "Wait, is this a thing in the university?" 

"Starting from the third year, the students must heed those calls" Adhara replied.

Likewise, Rosie also explained as she realized that Rex was new in this university. "I forgot that you joined the university midway, let me explain some things to you. The First and Second-year students can only take tasks given by the university in their free time to get points, these points can be exchanged with things in the university treasury. When we enter the third year, we will then become a reinforcement for cities outside of Ratmawati city that are in need"

Rex was shocked, 'How can I not know this, this is a great opportunity to raise my level!'

It was then he focused back on Adhara and Rosie again.

"If that's the case, why did I never see the two of you take those tasks?"

Pausing for a moment at the question, Adhara and Rosie look at each other oddly.

"Huh, that's tiring"

"Not in the mood"

Upon hearing their answers, Rex's face twitched as he was speechless at the two. 'These two slackers, Adhara need to hunt with me! She can provide more Exp because of the Alpha's benefit. But unluckily for me, she's lazy. As for Rosie, I don't care!' he pondered angrily.

Both of them could see the look of disappointment on his face, it was written clearly.

Rex then asks, "Where do we go to get the tasks?"

"It's on the first floor, there's a place called the Task Hall. It's always crowded with students there, so I suggest to browse the tasks online first before going there" Adhara replied plainly.

Nodding his head, he swore to go there when he had the time.

'I really need to go there! Let's start tomorrow. My level is stuck at 11, and that's not good especially if the Werewolves know of my existence' Rex pondered, a flash of determination flickered in his eyes.

Soon enough, the ramen came.

Rex and the other two ate the meal when suddenly, a blonde girl entered the restaurant.

Her crystal-clear blue eyes darted around before settling upon Rex.

Catching the sight of this girl, Rex's heart started to race faster. He doesn't know why his body reacts like this, but he becomes more nervous the closer the girl gets. It was obviously Laura.

Laura arrived at his table and stood beside it.

Both of them stare at each other, locked in intense eye contact.

"I don't like this vibe..." Rosie mused from the side.

Just then, completely catching Rosie and Adhara off guard, Laura bear-hugged Rex tightly as if she was letting out all the pent-up emotions swelling inside of her, disregarding that they were in a public space.

Rex was also stunned for a brief moment.

However, his arm wraps around Laura's body to calm her down instinctively.

Looking at the two sharing an intimate moment sweetly, Adhara and Rosie fell into a daze.

But soon, they both screamed in anger, "GET OFF OF HIM!"
