Chapter 48

 Two individuals in a large cave-like scene, illuminated by rows and rows of bulbs, half bent and panted heavily. Their breaths were uneven and they could hear their thumping hearts beating vigorously in their chests like it was in their ears it was beating.

 "I don't believe it…" Zhang Xiu said, trying to catch her breath, "I barely see you cultivate but… you're even better… than I thought you'd be." She claimed. Wang Chen forced a smile on his face.

 'You didn't… think I'd… remain weak, did you?" he replied as he thought of Zhang Xiu's statement as a way of underestimation rather than a compliment.

 "Of course, I thought you'd be weaker than me. Didn't know you would… be this hard… to beat." Zhang Xiu claimed. Wang Chen found this extremely offensive and he suddenly felt a bit of strength from nowhere as he clutched his two swords.
