The Introverted Witch

A school holiday trip turns bloody when a pack of werewolves attacks and it becomes a problem for Auroras when she's tasked to take care of the students. There is another student that's a vampire but he cannot do it alone. It's more of a problem because she's outed as a witch when no one knew her as one of the supernatural, and because she's an introvert and a wallflower, she is now everyone's favorite person when they didn't bother about her before. On the trip, she encounters Kane, an unwanted and dangerous being who was not supposed to be there. Through the connection, she becomes a chosen one and throughout her trials, she gives in. Away from home and everything she knows, Aurora has to survive on her own. With everything taken from her and the only help she has is from trading with daemons, she has to earn her freedom. Learning new skills on her way, things she's never dreamed were possible a year ago. From a witch who had to hide her power to a powerful sorceress, Aurora is at a loss though. Does she even understand what freedom means to a daemon? Can she fight against those who oppose her and does she even want to? *** Aurora is an introvert. Partly born and party grew more into an introvert as time went on. She is also a witch, which complicates things since witches are social beings. Hence the reason of covens. She wants both but cannot get either. On one hand, she has extra workload and on the other, it seems like the spirits have rejected her and so no coven wants her and that included the coven she was born in.

Chapter 6

Aurora felt so much better, she had a hot bath and then applied the potion and chanted again and she managed to heal most of it until only scratches were left but that's fine, it would heal on its own. A witch has their own power and when they enter a coven, they can draw on them when needed but very few can draw from mother earth and if they can, it's not much but she can, she's always been able to. Aurora has been able to draw large amounts even after she's been kicked out of the coven. There's a limit to everything but not for her, she's always had more of her own magic than the others and she could call upon more power from the mother. The downside stems from her mortal body that can only hold so much and she gets tired. She of course never showed or told anyone. She never had anyone to tell, for one but also, she saw very early on that people hated those that had things others didn't. Her mother also made her promise not to reveal her true power to anyone or she would be in danger, from even those who should protect her. Aurora never experimented with the limit of her power or even used much, she was taught, like so many these days to hide their differences from man. She did more so because she did not belong to a coven. She basically lived like a human with a few tricks, for her safety.

She was combing her hair and singing the lullaby, like her mother used to do, for comfort

"Oh shut up, can you not see we sleeping here? Idiot"

She sighed and flopped on the bed then reached to put the light off when she saw Kane outside. Her stupid heart beat faster, wondering how long he's been there. She looked at her roommates before putting the lights off but got up and sneaked out to meet him. He would not have come here and let her see him if he didn't want to be seen.

"What do you want?" she couldn't help but look him up and down, looking for injuries before checking him out but when he cleared his throat, she blushed and looked up

"Is that any way to say thank you? I didn't need to help you, that's not why I'm here" his stare was so piercing that she needed to look away but with a lot of struggling and stubborn determination, she looked him straight in the eye. He smiled when she didn't look away but it was not a friendly smile, just a twitch of his lips and it did not bring any emotion to his eyes.

"I didn't ask for your help, I would have been fine. Just leave this place, you have no reason for being here" She looked over and saw a teacher exiting a cabin, with no thought, she covered a cloaking spell over the both of them and when he felt the power touch him, the instant before he clued in that it was just a cloaking spell, she saw the raw rage and danger in his eyes and she had to fight the flight response that kicked in. Her heart tripled its effort to escape by trying to beat out of her chest and Aurora thought, what's wrong with her that she would meet a complete stranger alone, one that proved he was dangerous, never mind he saved her and never attacked her but it was a stupid decision either way. He saw the realization hit her that he was a predator and for the first time, his eyes gave out an emotion. "you have a lot of power for a witch, I'll be seeing you soon".

Her head was pounding and it didn't help that the sun was striking on her face or with the damn loud music! Urh, she loved to listen to music but not when she had the headaches of all headaches.

Aurora opened her eyes to see more than her roommates and she panicked. How could they invite guys into the room when she was asleep? She wanted to submerge herself in the bed and get away or run out of the room but she needed the bathroom. Unfortunately, they were on the floor between her bed and the bathroom, luckily, knowing she would have to share a room, she brought modest clothes. Where was the teacher when you actually needed her? She gave out a sigh and swore them in her head and braced herself for what she had to do and without paying anyone attention, she crossed the room with a bored, 'not bothered' expression on her face.

"Sleeping beast awakens" chuckled a guy but she just rolled her eyes and shut herself away. She felt self-conscious about the fact that they would hear her through the door and anger built in her that they disregarded her privacy! Those bitches! She blinked when she heard a scream and opened the door. She stood shocked and wanted to face-palm herself and laugh when she saw all the draws opened and a bottle of powder bust and all the powder on Stephanie. Luckily the bathroom door stayed closed. She closed the door quietly and smiled in satisfaction, saw the emotion reflected in her eyes through the mirror and remembered the same emotion glinted in Kane's eyes and sobered up but it was not the same, she didn't mean to do what she did and it was somehow karma. Although if her aunt hears of this, she'll be in deep trouble, after all, witches need to keep calm so as not to cause a freak accident. Knowing the spirits, they will tattle on her. They huge gossipers and they like to get me into trouble and it's not like she ever did anything to them. Plus, her parents should be part of the spirits too... She hates what the spirits did to her but she hates that her own parents now ignore her.
