The Introverted Witch

A school holiday trip turns bloody when a pack of werewolves attacks and it becomes a problem for Auroras when she's tasked to take care of the students. There is another student that's a vampire but he cannot do it alone. It's more of a problem because she's outed as a witch when no one knew her as one of the supernatural, and because she's an introvert and a wallflower, she is now everyone's favorite person when they didn't bother about her before. On the trip, she encounters Kane, an unwanted and dangerous being who was not supposed to be there. Through the connection, she becomes a chosen one and throughout her trials, she gives in. Away from home and everything she knows, Aurora has to survive on her own. With everything taken from her and the only help she has is from trading with daemons, she has to earn her freedom. Learning new skills on her way, things she's never dreamed were possible a year ago. From a witch who had to hide her power to a powerful sorceress, Aurora is at a loss though. Does she even understand what freedom means to a daemon? Can she fight against those who oppose her and does she even want to? *** Aurora is an introvert. Partly born and party grew more into an introvert as time went on. She is also a witch, which complicates things since witches are social beings. Hence the reason of covens. She wants both but cannot get either. On one hand, she has extra workload and on the other, it seems like the spirits have rejected her and so no coven wants her and that included the coven she was born in.

Chapter 10

She almost got excited but disappointment crushed her dreams. The army is an in case, if there's any chance of war, where they learn magic in defense and higher up for the offense. It doesn't surprise her that he won't talk, they are not allowed to, her father was in the army before he disappeared, and her mother too but she exited after Aurora was born. They taught her some forbidden things before they disappeared. That is why Aurora is so interested because she knows something happened to them and she wants to find out what and why all the secrecy. It took her years to find the courage to move past the pain and anger that their leaving caused, to start searching and investigating. She even took online courses on becoming a private investigator. This is why this could be a threat to her because if she's chosen and has to leave this world, she would probably never find out what happened "Yeah shame, what do you know about daemons? Surprisingly there's not much on them but they are frequently here among us" she saw he was getting restless and before he could answer her, a girl came up to him and pulled him, dragging him to the dance floor, he gave her an apologetic look and said bye.

She didn't sit alone for long before it was occupied, she looked to see who was sitting beside her and froze, he must have been the hottest guy in this place and he decided to sit by her? She looked around to see if any of his friends were laughing at a prank he was supposed to do but there was no one "Hi..." she said uncertainly, he didn't say anything but looked at her, staring through her it seemed then looked out toward the dance floor. She felt uncomfortable for a bit then relaxed in the silence. She looked him up and down and he seemed so familiar but she definitely had not seen him before, he had long braided hair midnight black with a ruby red streak, was tall, had a good portion of muscle, and was lean, his eyes were very light grey but she wasn't sure because it seemed to be getting darker and lighter, she shrugged it off as reflecting the light. He looked at her and she knew he saw her checking him out but his face was expressionless "Your interest is noticed but it's not going to happen" he stated then looked out the dance floor again. Aurora was so embarrassed but she didn't know what to do "Hey Aurora, would you like to dance?" she looked up and almost cried with relief when she saw Corey "Why, of course, sir" She smiled and took his hand "My lady, pardon me, I did not request a dance properly, would you like to dance?" she chuckled "yes sir, I would love to dance" she laughed as he pulled her through to the dance floor.

Her feet were killing her! Corey had a lot of friends and they all switched partners so she danced with at least four partners non-stop. The good thing was that she forgot about her problems while dancing and the guests of honor never showed up. To most, it was disappointing but she just felt relieved. She was in her room and she just exited the bath and a dip in warm salted water for her feet when her phone rang, it could only be one person "Hey aunt, how are you?" she plopped on the bed

"good good, and you? You sound tired"

She yawned yeah "Sorry, yes, I had a long night, on my feet dancing for quite a while, I just came out of the bath and changed, ready to hit the bed"

Her aunt laughed "Well that's lovely to hear, I won't endanger myself by keeping you from sleep, I just wanted to know how the party was, goodnight love"

She yawned again "Sorry, it was really fine, thanks, goodnight, love you" Groaning, Aurora got up and swayed towards the light switch and made it back to the bed and passed out without even getting comfortable or under the blanket.

The world was never supposed to know we existed, they were not ready and to be honest, they may never be ready to accept us. There are a few, the 1% of the 1% that would but it would only mean that they get buried with us. Her heart goes out to the victims that have survived this tragedy. Those that died in the attack have gone back to mother earth but the survivors have a long way to go, from the suffering and fear that was caused. Human beings hunt them down for many reasons, among them jealousy, anger, and fear. The nature of humanity is to overcome fear by destroying it and sometimes greed is greater but it's a sin so they rationalize it so they can have things their way. Aurora joined the rest as they sent a prayer to the mother, to ease the suffering of the Satan coven who were butchered. Out of all the supernatural races, witches were hit the hardest, which is why there are so many that prefer to stay hidden and to think she blew it at home. It is like raising a red flag in front of a bull.

She was doing her stretches before doing her yoga when she heard other matts hit the ground and she looked up to see a couple of girls her age.

"Hey, we saw you stretching and we thought we would join you if you don't mind. I'm Jessica, this is Rebecca, Sofia, and Taylor. We met last night at the event, you were with Corey but just briefly because we're really not with his crowd" Aurora smiled and nodded but didn't say anything because she cannot be mean to anyone she might join covens with and she didn't really know what to say so she just continued her workout.

Aurora was actually having fun, she made friends! Right now, they were out at the beach just sunbathing. While doing yoga, things were quiet but after, they asked her if she will meet them at the coffee shop after getting ready, and although she was reluctant to make so many friends at once, she had to say yes because she couldn't think up an excuse. They got to know each other and it was surprisingly easy to have conversations with them. The best part was, she was not pressured to keep the conversation going and there were no awkward silences. Not that they never shut up, but because the silence was comfortable and she felt no need to break it. They were all so different but also had things in common that connected them. Jessica was an extrovert but she loves animals, reading, and writing, although it's blogging, Rebecca was an extrovert as well but she loved to sing, and had a sarcastic attitude, Sofia and Taylor were introverts like her, Sofia loved to dance and read, Taylor loves to read and shop. Aurora knew there was still a long way for them to go to become close friends but this was a good start, she shared that she loves to read and enjoy nature but she didn't say in solitude because what if they think she was excluding them or being snobbish?
