Dungeon Boss

The two continued to walk inside the tunnel, exploring the place as they move forward. From time to time they would open other doors or examine those doors if any of it is the door that's supposed to be opened with the rusted key.

During those times, some rooms would either be empty or filled with enemies. Haruhiro and Nanako took care of it all quickly and after they kill each enemy they could feel themselves getting stronger.

After a few battles here and there they finally reached the end of the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, a door stands in their way. It's a simple metal door with some sort of writings engraved on it.

Haruhiro tried asking Ava to decipher it for him but what Ava said confused Haruhiro.

[Host, Ava cannot translate the writings on the door.]

'How come? Didn't you translate the ones that are written in the journal?'

[There is no such language in the System's database. This is either because the System's Creator did not know this language or this isn't any kind of language that has been used.]

'Meaning?'

[Ava cannot translate the writings.]

"..."

He was dumbfounded by Ava's answer but thinking about it, that technically is what Ava's answer meant. The System doesn't have that language or the language doesn't exist so the System cannot translate it.

Haruhiro didn't like this outcome one bit. Whatever is written here may be something that's important to know. If they just entered without even knowing what this could be, they may fall into a trap.

"Haru-chan, I'm ready."

Nanako said breaking Haruhiro out of his thoughts. He didn't know how to respond to her and he really doesn't know what to do next.

Frowning Haruhiro said, "Sorry I don't know what to do next."

"What do you mean Haru-chan?"

"This door, it may be a trap it may not be a trap but because I'm not sure... I can't really decide how we should do this."

Nanako tilted her head sideways, thinking of what to reply to Haruhiro. After a few seconds, she opened her mouth and said, "Let's go with all guns blazing?"

Hearing her response Haruhiro smiled bitterly and shook his head. "So the only way is to put all our efforts into it, right?"

"Yes."

He sighed and surrendered.

"Let's go then," Haruhiro took out the rusted key from his Inventory. He searched for the keyhole and found it at the center of the metallic double doors.

He inserted the rusted key and tried to spin it. Tried. Haruhiro felt that the key won't budge inside the keyhole. Frowning he put in more strength in twisting the key, however, since the key has rusted so much it easily snapped into two. Both Haruhiro and Nanako froze from the shock. They both have the same thought in their mind, 'Doesn't this mean we can't get in?'

Before they could react though the part of the key that is currently stuck inside the keyhole started spinning.

When the key stopped spinning it has already spun for seven times. Then, the door was unlocked.

"What?"

Haruhiro didn't know how to respond to what happened, he dumbly looked at the snapped part of the key he is holding.

Nanako giggled, she found that this part of him looking a little bit foolish is also cute. She hooked her arm around one of his arms and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"Haru-chan, you're so cute."

He laughed in embarrassment for a good while before the expression on his face changed. The door finally opened fully.

However, the darkness inside still veiled what's inside the room.

Haruhiro didn't like it one bit but since they've decided to take the risk, he shouldn't hesitate here any longer.

Nanako moved away from Haruhiro, she also has that determined and serious expression on her face. Holding on the throwing knife tightly she readied herself.

They both entered the basement at the same time and when they did, the door behind closed automatically.

This caused Nanako to further feel anxiety in her heart. However, seeing the steady back of Haruhiro in front of her she feels at ease. Nanako let out a breath of relief, right after, she felt something grab her around her waist and panicked a little.

Looking at the person who grabbed her, however, she calmed down. She felt that familiar warmth enveloping her body and just knew that it's him. Nanako was planning to ask what happened when she heard a loud sound.

ROOOAAARRR!!!

They both heard a loud howl then a following boom followed, scaring Nanako who didn't know what happened.

Haruhiro though clearly knew what happened. Right, when they entered the room Haruhiro felt that something was off and when he received Ava's warning he immediately grabbed Nanako and made a run for it.

[System Warning, host has been targeted by an unknown force.]

When he heard the howl and the loud boom he knew that his decision to run is the right choice.

The light stones in the room then started to light up one by one starting from the door. The light stones along the walls were the first to light up followed by the ones at the ceiling.

As the light stones all lit up, the enemy is finally revealed.

[Divine Wolf Spirit(Cursed)

- Guardian Spirit of Goddess Terra's Temple until it was cursed by Dark Entities. They not only massacred every living thing inside the Temple but also tried to take away the item left behind by the prince mentioned by Clergyman Ibanhiel. Failing this task, they can only curse the Guardian to stop others from gaining the item.]

As the light stones have finally lit up the whole place, they both saw that this place is more than just a basement.

Four tall sturdy pillars are placed in each corner of what appears to be a stage of some kind. On this stage is the dungeon boss and along with it is the item that's been placed here for keeping.

The stage is as wide as a basketball court, just by the size of the stage in the middle of the room one could already tell that this place is large.

The pillars are about ten meters high while the width is something Haruhiro doesn't have the time to observe.

The dungeon boss is a large black wolf with two tails. Its red eyes stared at two of them ferociously. The wolf bared its fangs at them, it was as if it was telling them not to move.

The way it looked at them made Haruhiro feel a bit of pressure while Nanako feels very nervous.

Evidently depending on the difference of strength will the level of pressure a person would feel.

That's at least what Haruhiro thinks, he didn't care about this warning though. He kept his throwing knives inside the Inventory and took out the ZiP pistol.

Haruhiro didn't think too much on what the item is since it will eventually fall in his hands once he defeated the dungeon boss. Which is why he decided to kill the boss first before anything else.

"Get ready to fight Nanako."

"Nn."

Haruhiro took action first, he fired off three shots in which all three bullets hit the right targets. Though it harmed Haruhiro more than it did the wolf, the bullets didn't even leave a scratch on the wolf and only served to infuriate it.

It howled once again making Haruhiro feel the same level of danger he did when they entered this room. He once again grabbed Nanako and made a run for it, soon after the sound of a howl and then of a boom occurred behind them.

After that, silence returned in the room. The wolf no longer attacked and only growled at Haruhiro as it stared at the two of them, watching their every action.

Got stuck with a lot of school work that all had the same day or week of submission. Thanks for waiting and sorry for making you all wait.
