The Inostranets

This date would go down the being the worst date in the history of mankind. On this date, a asteroid, named, ZXY227, traveling with a speed of 30km/s, hit the Earth and its fragments scattered around the Earth. The Government and the Central Authorities knew that this was to happen, it means, we were all ready for the Earth's destruction but what we did not hope for, was the invasion. The invasion of the extraterrestrial, or as we would call it, "The Inostranets".

They were ruthless, they did not even consider the humans, to be creatures. They considered Homo sapiens to be ants. They wanted to conquer the earth, for its resources. We laid helpless, gawking as the sky became overshadowed with their war ships, the light never came through, enveloping us in the darkness. We were doomed. They wiped out half of the human population within six months. The human race tried to fight back but we could not even defeat three of their battle ships. So the humans and the Inostranets, tried to co exist, creating a pact, that would only be beneficial to the extra terrestrial.

Their warhead, Lucifer Olga II, pronounced that if all the humans were to live underground, and give up all of their resources, the Inostranets army would not slaughter any more humans. But as the phrase goes, 'Give a lick and a promise', we knew it was an empty promise, meaning that, they would definitely go back on and betray us. But we still accepted for it was all that we had. Thus the underground cities, all over the world was created.

As the years progressed, the human population stealthily declined, for our economy was in a disastrous condition, our medical and health care facilities were all in ruins, there existed poverty, food was scarce and several underground cities started war with the Inostranets, only to be defeated. Although there were several victories, most of them were clear defeats.The most notable win was in the 'War Against the Inostranets', that took place two years after the Inostranets had invaded the planet. Hero Raiden, and his army took down 4 warships and inflicted considerable damage by themselves but that was it. Since that time, seven years have passed and humans have succumbed to their fate, living low and trying not to attract any attention.

Presently, only thirty percent of the human population is alive, and it will not be very long till, every human on this planet will cease to exist. There are only four underground cities that have surviving humans, City1A, City2B, City3C and City4B. Each of the cities have roughly five thousand people thus making it to twenty thousand. At the time when the Inostranets invaded, our economy was in ruins but as the time progressed, and we became habituated to our new lives, constructions of roads, buildings, hospitals and underground tunnels began and we advanced. Each city is named after the way of their advancement, thus, City1A is the most advanced while City4B is the least.

As City1A's progression began, people started leaving City4B and City4B became the least populated, consisting only about 500 people. I, currently live with my grandmother in the City4B, also known as the "City of the Norchis", named after the flower which never blooms.
