The Other Announcement

The people of the upper floors of Natovis were surprised by the announcement of an indefinite curfew they just heard. The City Manager continued:

" ...so with the magnificent technological advancement and experimentation of our city managers over the last several decades, we are glad to announce that we will be able to encourage the citizens that might think twice about following these guidelines."

Noone understood what this part of the announcement meant, so it was disregarded altogether.

The spokesperson went on but the remainder of what was said was either too long to go into detail about, or was not important to take away from altogether.

The Citizens of Natovis were clearly upset about the announcement of an indefinite curfew. In fact many would take to the streets the next day. The citizens were largely unarmed, but many were ready to brawl with the authorities when the force was sent out to stop them. Deadly force was never employed to stop the rioters, something that has been seen to stop a riot of this size in Natovis. A few officers were bruised, a few windows were broken, but not much more than that ended up happening.

Then came the mist. At the 4:00 o'clock hour, a thick fog suddenly began forming throughout the upper floors of the city. By 4:10, no one could see 2 feet ahead in front of themselves. By 4:30, the crowd was dispersed completely.

Many of the advanced futuristic technologies in Natovis were forgotten over the centuries from hovercrafts to impressive building techniques, but there was technology that had advanced: Controlling the weather.
