The Infinity Helix

Natovis, better known as the Layered City, has seen better days. The upper layers are still intact and still governed by the authorities, but they are nothing compared to what they used to be. No one knows what goes on past the 8th floor down from the top. It is estimated that there could be thousands of floors. Things are so far declined that much of history and science is forgotten. People turn instead to speculation, legend, and outright guessing to explain the world and universe. Most do not even know how the city got there. There is a series of mysterious and unexplained disappearances, none of which have any evidence, except for one. The insolvency to fixing this problem shines light onto the civilizations decline. The public, led by some extraordinary individuals take action to both solve the mystery, turn things around, and figure out why the city declined in the first place.

CHAPTER PREVIEW The Ball Continues

Most of the cheering had died down for Arturian the Greater. As the guest of honour was greeted by many of the attendees, shaking the hands of some, and hugging others, Mr. Aldenstrung could hear the music in the room play in a slightly more intense manner. The individual conversations throughout the massive space of what is the Upper Dome also began to get louder. It would be too difficult to hear any individual conversations for now.

A few minutes later, Mr Aldenstrung could now barely even hear the administrator he was conversing with 3 feet away from. Some guests danced to the strings that played. The guests wore the latest fashion of the upper floors of Natovis. The women wore the some of the most beautiful dresses with vibrant colours. Bright colours were the most stylish right now. Bright yellows, oranges, reds, and blues could be seen moving elegantly throughout. The men could be seen wearing the most well fit tuxedos and suits.
