The Infernal Architect

Reincarnated into his past self, Tyler is given the chance to correct his biggest mistake. He rediscovers the Liber Infernus- an ancient tome penned by a fallen celestial. [By wielding this book, you gain access to the lost knowledge and inventions and oblige to being the new infernal architect! However, the price you must pay is your humanity. You must accept to turn into a demon and brace all its downsides. Do you consent?] Tyler stared calmly at the book as a smirk silently rose on his lips. "Yes!" Just that simple word was enough to change his fate for the better and stop the impending apocalypse from ever happening. Or was it? His fate will change, alright. But for the better? - I highly doubt that!

Invention origin

Tyler knew that Daren King would attend the academy, he just hadn't thought that he would be in the same classroom as him.

Once Daren stood up, the whole room turned silent and everyone watched him walk to the assessment table.

His extremely handsome features made every girl's stomach excited with butterflies and the boys jealous. He had emerald green eyes but with a deeper shade that made them look like they were almost glowing. His tall figure lean figure added to his attractiveness.

Tyler considered himself handsome but compared to Daren King, he paled greatly. Daren King had the looks of a god!

But the most shocking thing wasn't his good looks, rather it was his ranking.

Daren had worn a thin black sleeveless hoodie that showcased his emblem for all to see. It was a weird-looking flame emblem. Numerous miniature sword symbols extended all around his emblem downwards and covered 3 quatres of his upper arm making it look like he had a stylish golden tattoo all over his arm.

That particular length of his emblem extension left everyone shocked out of their senses because it indicated he was around D rank! There were only a handful who had reached there! On average, most people were around rank E. Yet this monster was in rank D! It was simply unheard of.

"Speak of showing off....!!!!"Tyler also gulped in shock.

"Surprising, rank D+! That's rare!," Elara commended Daren then handed him his name tag a short while after imputing his name into the system.

Every boy was dying with envy! Daren had the best looks and strongest rank and he had even received praise from their hot teacher! Who wouldn't be jealous?! Girls were ogling him like they were extremely infatuated with admiration.

Daren rubbed the back of his head and smiled embarrassedly. Being the center of attention wasn't his thing. If it weren't for special circumstances, he wouldn't have worn such a revealing hoodie.

He walked back to his seat silently and uncomfortably before sitting with his gaze on the ground. He dared not to look up because if he did, he was certain he would meet everyone's gazes again.

The exercise proceeded smoothly and it soon came to an end. Apart from a few D- rankers here and there, there was no bigger stir. Daren was confirmed as the highest ranker in the class.

Elara was left alone in the assessment room, in the comfort of silence. In her hand, she held a tablet showing two names,

"Daren King, and Tyler Vonstriek. One is the highest ranking fresher, the other the lowest. But the one thing they both have in common is an abnormal flame emblem. I have a feeling things are going to get interesting,"

At the same time in his room, Tyler also held his phone and stared at 5 names displayed on it.

[Daren King: the King of Flames and Shadows]

[Amanda Walner: Water Queen of Daggers]

[Kyle Leeway: Moon Assasin]

[Edwin Cloud: The White Shadow of Death]

[Charlotte Mendawal: Harbringer of Rain]

All these were names that would cause a stir in the future and they were all his class... Could that be called fate?

Swiping left, another list of names was displayed.

[Jack Doe]

[Yvon Stan]

[Felicia Warmer]

[Summer Field]

This was his hit list. And the names he was looking at were his first targets - a group of racists who were verbally bullying Aurora during the assessment.

As a demon, or rather half-demon, he utilized dark energy by inflicting negative emotions on others. Of all negative emotions, fear was the strongest and sweetest source. Initially, he had been scaring random animals in the park. But now, he thought it was about time he started on humans. His mouth was already watering just thinking about how human fear tasted like!

-If it weren't for the voices in my head, being a demon would be so much easier than being a vampire.

That was true, the voices in Tyler's head always probed him to kill and make people suffer. He hated violence and he couldn't forgive himself if he killed someone. That was for now as it seemed.

He had a feeling that once he evolved into a full demon, his sinister conscience would dominate and he wouldn't feel remorse or guilt even if he killed.

The more days passed, the voices became irresistibly pleasing. It cemented the idea that maybe his feeling was a fact. Now that he thought about it, Ramiel had kinda hinted about it on the day he found the book.

"Not yet. You're only a half-demon. If you were, your sinister conscience would have already controlled you by now. You could call it your demon. But don't worry, for now, you still retain part of your righteous conscience." he still remembered his words clearly.

If that was the case then he needed to increase his mentality as soon as possible because it would be up to brain choice not to do anything wrong and criminal.

"Ramiel," Tyler called out after opening the book.

[Yes]

"Is there a way for me to increase my physical attributes and rank faster?"

[Unfortunately increasing your ranking will be extremely difficult from now on given your growth spurt has ended. That is the fact for humans. You, being a demon...makes things twice as hard as the natural dark energy on earth is extremely thin. If you were in Hades, your rank could have increased normally and you would be an E ranker by now.

You could try potions but given your current financial status, it is highly unlikely. Even if you gained access to some, it wouldn't be as effective.

I know of a technology you could use. Sadly I lost half of its manual. Have you heard of a system? If you know anyone with a system then maybe you can copy its design and mechanism for free...It is more versatile and utilizes the equivalence law of the universe.]

Tyler did not know whether Ramiel was being sarcastic or not. He sounded serious but his question ought to be the most ridiculous question he would ever ask.

He knew about the system. It was quite a famous cheat a protagonist had in the web novels he used to read. But that was the problem, it was all fiction! There was no way he was going to start believing that systems existed.

[Tyler where do you think inventions began from?]

Tyler was surprised by the sudden question, "Inventors created them?"

[No... Do you know where they got the idea to begin making that invention? Take Isaac Newton for example, do you think that an apple falling on his head was all it took for him to discover gravity?]

Ramiel's questions in his deep angelic wise voice made Tyler unsure of every answer he was thinking.

"Now that you say it that way, I don't think so?"

Tyler was proud of his high IQ but at this moment he felt stupid under Ramiel's questions. He was starting to doubt everything he knew and was ever taught.

[Well, where do you think he got the idea from? How did the first iron toolmaker know that there was iron underground? How did he know how that iron was supposed to be extracted? How did he know that it was supposed to be melted into shapes and tools? How do you think the pyramids were built? Where do you think mathematics and calculations came from? Where did numbers come from?]

Tyler:"..."

[Let me tell you a little more about inventions. Everything existing existed and what existed and isn't existing will exist.]

Tyler:"..."

-The f*#*$^&k! does this even mean?!

[There might be a system or two left before the reset. If you find one person with one, then you could be considered lucky. It is the only tool I can think of that can help you long-term otherwise your growth is going to stagnate from here on]
