CHAPTER TEN

I woke up feeling well rested but I was a bit sore. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and take a hot shower hoping it'll cut my woes away. I looked at myself through the mirror and I didn't recognize myself. My cheek was no longer swollen but it was a greenish purple colour that was utterly hideous. I had scratches and hickies all the way from my jaw line, down my neck to my shoulders. I needed a lot of concealer to cover all this up. I wasn't planning to tell anyone. Not even Barb. I feel so embarrassed and to think that I considered forgiving him. What happened to Jay? He never was this violent. He was intimidating especially to the boys in his rival team but he never hit me before.
