Chapter-1:Mary Saotome

3rd POV

"I am very sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you sir " The new boy apologized while bowing his head to Varun.

"Ok, that's alright...I am not looking at my surroundings as well " Varun told him.

"Oh well, I am Ryota suzui, it's nice to meet you " Ryota replied to Varun.

"My name is Varun Sharma, it's nice to meet you. " Varun replied.

We shook both of our hands, and Ryota bowed to Varun. Varun held Ryota's hands and gently asked him to show him the classroom "Could you please tell me where this room is? This is where my classroom is "

Varun showed him the paper Sayaka gave him.

"That's the class I am in, want me to walk you towards the classroom " Ryoto offered Varun.

"Sure, I appreciate the help " Varun replied.

Ryota led him through the school. They finally arrived at the classroom and walked in.

"Here, we are. There is a seat vacant next to mary. Sit there if you want it " Ryota replied.

"Thanks for the assistance Ryota " Varun replied.

Varun sat next to mary. Her hair was blonde and tied into two twin tails which were kept in place by a black ribbon. She wore the same school uniform, only hers had black socks that came below her knees

"How nice... " Varun replied.

"Excuse me. " Mary replied surprised to see a boy like Varun.

" I am a foreigner...Nice to meet you " Varun replied.

"It's good to meet you...Names Mary saotome...Say do you gamble? " Mary asked him.

"Yes," Varun replied.

Ryota arrived at science, mary looked at him with anger.

"Why are you so late Suzui, where is my water? " Mary commanded him

"Pardon me. " Varun asked surprised by why this woman is ordering around for something so casual.

"Oh! I-I am sorry Master Saotome. I w-was guiding this new transfer student to the r-room " Suzui said terrified.

She paused and looked at Varun with her dark yellow eyes, almost golden. They gazed at each other for few moments until Varun spoke.

Varun held her arms with her arms, taking Mary by surprise with the sudden embrace of his arms " Miss Mary, would you be kind to forgive him this time, he was guiding me to the classroom, without him I might have experienced much trouble. So be a sweetheart and take it light this time~ " Varun replied in her ear, instinctively seducing the twin-tailed girl with his elegant and masculine tone.

Mary's cheeks turned a light shade of pink! She gazed at him with stars in her eyes, falling into his trance.

"W-Well, I c-can do that t-this time " She replied to him embarrassed.

Suzui is dumbfounded at how Mary is behaving, Mary glared at him and suddenly.

He got on the floor on all fours, and she ast on his back like a chair. Varun is beyond surprised.

"What is this? In the name of Durga Mata what the actual hell is happening? " Varun replied.

"He is a house pet " Mary replied as if it is common knowledge.

"Pet? " Varun asked realizing, it is the house pet.

Varun never thought that the students would actually treat their classmates as slaves, don't they...Even maids in Varun's country aren't treated this unfairly.

"You didn't explain to him!? " Mary stared angirly at suzui.

"I didn't, w-we w-were so busy talking about the school and the s-subject never came u-up " Suzui replied.

Mary rolled her eyes and sighed " Here at Hyakkou, you probably already realized that the social standings and talent in gambling are what matters most " she replied.

"To make it short if a student gambles an amount that they can't pay back and loses, or develops massive debt over time, they become housepet. Until they can pay it back " Mary replied

"So, I guess, we can form our own servants if we win " Varun replied.

"Precisely " Mary replied.

"Why to treat him like worthless miserable trash then " Varun replied.

"It's merely right of the victor " Mary replied.

"You wouldn't be saying the same if you are in his situation " Varun replied bluntly

"Them perhaps, you wouldn't mind partaking in a little game? How about a gambling match, I would be interested to have a match with you " Mary replied smugly.

Mary POV

This is it, I will win this match. And keep this handsome and well-mannered boy as my butler...before someone steals him. You got this chance mary, Don't ruin it.

He will be better than suzui. This is the golden opportunity to make him a house pet.

3rd POV

The class went on for a few more minutes and then ended,, As it did all the students gathered around a table that is set up. Mary and Varun sat at the table across from each other as what looked like a ballot box were brought up.

"Do you know what we are playing? " Mary asked him.

"Rock-Paper-Scissors? " Varun responded.

Mary then explained the rules of that but Varun, on the other hand, looked much more confident in the game. The audience will draw whatever scissors, rock or paper in a card and drop in a ballot box and they should pick up five cards from them.

As they has begun to play, Suzui walked right behind Varun for some reason, Suzui seemed nice, but not enough for Varun to trust him completely. As Varun identified something fishy from him. Varun silently opened a pocket mirror to see Suzui making some sort of signs.

Varun POV

The students....they are not looking at me...in fact they are looking at Suzui...It seems Mary is using her puppets well. The thing is that using defective servants leads her to her own downfall. Her servants made no move to cover their plot. It is a rookie mistake, Mary isn't completely used to gambling.

I wonder how she will be at a high-stakes gambler.

My plan is very simple. I will read her moments, and behavior and I will attack once she is left vulnerable and make no mistakes. I will play defensively first and go straight high-stakes gambling afterward.

This was no game for fun, she wouldn't have challenged me unless she was sure she could win...and let's prove her wrong.

I had played defensively and let her win the first game, and after a few games, I have noticed she picked up rock mostly. Such repetitive moves are indeed beginner's mistakes.

I had won the seventh game.

"Let's bet for 5 million yen. 50 chips " I replied to her raising a high-stakes game.

"Oh! Confident aren't we " Mary agreed and

Three...Two...One!

"Rock " Mary replied

"Paper " I replied to her.

"HOW?" Mary asked

"I have saved this for last " I replied to her.

The crowd gasped. Mary looked both horrified and shocked. I had to try really hard to stop laughing at her, just giving an innocent smile at her funny baffled face.

"NO! There is no way with how many odds are in my favor! " Mary replied.

"A big victory can cover multiple small losses, sweetheart. I Purposely lost a few low-stakes rounds to win big matches " I replied to her telling her my defensive approach.

"But that m-means- " she aksed

"You owe me 5 million " I replied

"But-" She told me.

"That is nothing but pocket money for me, so I take your own time paying them...Only if you tell me everything you know about this school " I replied to her.

"You are not going to charge me? " Mary asked.

"I still need my money, but I am extending the margin if you behave well, kitten " I replied to her smugly.

"GRRRR!" Mary replied.

"Yes, Mary. Be a nice kitten and behave " I replied while patting her head.

Her cheeks turned a little pink. I guess her teenage girl fantasy is still within her heart.

"I will pay you back, and earn my freedom back " She replied.

"No problem, but the word of advice " I replied to her.

"FUCK YOU " Mary replied leaving the room.

"Your loss " I replied to her.

I had started to walk away as she came running after me! One thing is sure. I am definitely going to like this place.
