Chapter 1 BETRAYAL

IN THE BACK ALLEY OF RADIANT CLUB, ECLIPSARA

Kristen was standing away from the bleeding man lying on his stomach. The blood seeped through his clothes to the floor, forming a pool of blood all around him. With sympathy in her eyes but a stern look on her face, Kristen said, "Mr. Olekh, tell me where is the book, now and I will make sure you have a peaceful journey to the next world."

The man, Mr. Olekh, looked at the two sentinels who had moved back on her orders to give him a few moments to revive at least his breathing. He tries to turn on his back but breaks some ribs in the process.

He cries and howls in pain. It was almost unbearable to watch for someone soft-hearted who was unbeknownst to his crimes. He betrayed Eidolon for the throne. He helped the demons of Mosvil to steal the Book of Mordune(Death). It wasn't that the book was important but the spell binding the book and the object for which the spell was placed were both important.

The Games of Betrayal and Deceit for the power are common in heaven. But even the nobles knew their limits. A deal with demons of Mosvil is the limit after which you can't even have a peaceful afterlife. Mr. Olekh had crossed those lines of patience.

Once the pain was bearable again, he looked up at Kristen. He knew he won't live even if they left him however he was without going any further.

"What do I get out of it?" he asked.

After a few moments of deep thinking, Kristen cleared her throat and said," I won't promise I will let you live. You have betrayed us too bad, to go back now. But give me its locations and I promise to make sure you only daughter, Lady Olekh, live a life that others could only dream of. I will make sure she gets what she wants and will never have to know your deeds."

Mr. Olekh sighed. If Kristen wouldn't have been a healer she would have took it as disagreement. But she knew, right now, even breathing must have hurt like hell. So, this must be a sigh of relief.

As if proving her point, Mr. Olekh said, "You have got yourself a deal, Your Royal Highness. I trust you to keep your words. It's with a demon passing through the trails near the Lock woods. I don't know where he will go after that. If you are lucky, you will catch him on the trails. He is a shadow demon."

Once he was finished, Mr. Olekh resigned himself to his faith and went limp as if all the strength was removed from his body. The sentinels looked towards Kristen with a question in their eyes. Kristen just gave a small nod, then, turning on her heels walked out of the alley.
