47: Arrogance

The day went by in a fast pace as Knave proceeded with his daily schedule of cultivating, learning and eating without any hindrance.

The next day getting up quite early in the morning he first went to freshen up and for breakfast so as to not hinder his body's growth and concentration because of hunger.

Then he started his spiritual cultivation on the Green flame core manual, after cultivating for about an hour he ended with his spirit and started his body cultivation.

After completing his cultivation for the morning he got prepared and started his journey towards the cultivation tower.

He had already come up with some questions that he would like to ask the elder today whenever he got the chance, he had kept the token that the elder had given him in the space bag that the Academy provided so that he would not forget it.

After arriving at the base of the tower he followed the old professor's instructions to find the alchemy room of Elder Fryer. He had already asked for the directions yesterday with the elder who had been assigned to teach them for that week twice during their conversation yesterday.

It took him some time to reach the place but he still arrived there before time but what came to his sight when he came to the entrance of the room was a totally out his expectations.

Outside the room, there was a crowd of people just sitting there on the ground, some of them were just sitting while others were reading from some old books but all of them were waiting out the room for some reason.

Most of these people we're young around 14 to 15 years of age and there were dark circles beneath their eyes but Knave could see the stubbornness inside their eyes as if they were not willing to leave unless their desires we're fulfilled.

When he entered the area all of them whether it was people who were sitting or studying tensed up, all their eyes darted towards his direction inspecting him but after seeing his robes most of them noticed that he was a new disciple and thus their tension died down.

But just as they were calming down Knave started moving towards the entrance and it was like they had just been shot by a stimulant as all of them stood up at the same time.

Just as it seemed that a big fight was going to take place a fat guy came from within the crowd holding a folding fan in his hand and said, "Kid, this is no place for people like you, do you even know what this place is!" the fat guy said.

But before Knave could answer or talk the fat guy continued, "This is the Alchemy room of the most respected elder Fryer not a fish market where anybody can come and go as they please, you look quite young and most probably have just joined the academy so I would consider it as your first mistake and let you go without any punishment as I lord Manuel am feeling good today so you should take this chance while I am being magnanimous and get going" after saying that the fat guy Manuel turned around and went back into the crowd without even giving Knave a chance to reply.

The other people in the crowd looked down at Knave and some even snickered but Knave didn't even pay them any attention and he didn't mind what Manuel had said as he had met such people hundreds of times in his past life so he had already gotten used to their arrogant attitudes.

Without paying the crowds eyes of contempt any mind Knave continued on his way towards the entrance, even though the crowd had settled themselves in front of the room there was a distance of about 5 meters from the front door.

Knave didn't know why it was like this but he still continued going forward, Manuel and some people in the crowd knew that there was a defensive measures applied by elder Fryer in that 5 meter range so that nobody disturbs him during his work.

If anyone without the elders permission we're to enter that area he would be scorched by the defensive formation, so the crowd was waiting for a good show of Knave getting hurt but the next thing that happened caused their mouths to be opened wide because of shock.
