Around A Fire (2)

I dreamed.

There I was, standing aloft a great canyon. Below it, there was nothing. Nothing but a vast ocean that stretched beyond what my eyes could see. A crystal sun, white and bright, shone over the waters, casting a sparkling reflection on the waves.

It was strange. The ocean was not just endless, but I could feel that its depths reached an abyss. A place nobody could reach, not even I or the gods I had slain long ago.

Despite this, I found myself drawn to it, beckoned by an unheard voice. It was like a silent siren song, pulling me into the blackness beyond the glittering blue surface.

There was a splash as sound itself muffled. I plunged into the ocean, not knowing if I did so willing or someone or something had pushed me. Yet I pressed on, allowing the currents to guide me across the empty expanse.

Was it moments? Hours? Days? I did not know how long I spent speeding down the currents. Time itself seemed to matter little here.
