The Iceberg

Started with a dream, Rumi a commoner with only his dying mother by his side, and a past filled with tragedy finally finds and pursues love. Fighting the endless, vague dreams- tormented by faceless silhouettes. With many obstacles yet to conquer, and misfortunes to avert. Will he in the end meet love and happiness, or dwell in the endless void of nothingness? 'Darkness enveloping, alone I stood in my infinite depth of misery- all alone. Suddenly. A sharp blinding light illuminated in front of me, cutting through the darkness. Leading me towards a path. I sprinted ahead to keep up, when I saw- a silhouette...'

Sasha

She looked similar to the umbrella placed on our table, her pink ombre hair matching her light red clothes, but I was annoyed at the fact that I was sitting opposite her in the clothes Seb chose for me; Red and black checked T-shirt. The people passing by, kept on eyeing us on how cliche we looked, at least that's what I thought they were eyeing us for.

'Don't worry Rumi, they're just looking at my pizza.' Sasha whispered in a hushed voice, for the first time her voice didn't feel squeaky, it felt sweet. 'Concentrate Rumi!'

"I don't get why many hate pineapples on pizzas... I think... they're aight no?" I asked while helping myself with a slice.

"I didn't say you could share!" She snacthed the pizza from my hand. Her other hand signalling the void to stop, 'Why is she signalling 'nothing' but thin air' I thought to myself.

"For starters," I pulled the pizza towards me, "I didn't... ask!" stuffing myself with another slice.

"Well... you should've!" she crossed her arms and pouted, her cheeks red from anger.

I slumped back in my chair and declared in a flirty voice, "I thought we were past the point of me asking for your permission!"

"Well..." She started and then turned her face away from me, her cheeks red, which I knew was now from her blushing, "yes, yes we are!" she announced and smiled, showing me her dimples (The men reading this, I dare y'all to hate it, go on I'm waiting! You can't!) I swear she didn't used to have dimples.

"You've changed." I blurted and avoided eye contact, she got an opening.

"Oh really!" She rested her elbows on the table and rested her head on her hands, and did a deadly move, she tilted her head, smiled, all the while her eyes were closed, and her jaws were clenched. The universal attack for women!

'Control yourself Rumi! Control!' I said to myself 'remember how she used to be with you back in Dakota' I couldn't remember her past self, more like I chose not to, because I just wanted to know her present self. After a long silence, and the most absurd conversation with my mind I finally composed myself and said, "Your voice isn't squeaky aymore?" I asked myself more than her.

For a second we could only hear the sound of people passing by and then the most unexpected thing happened, she bursted out laughing, her hand quickly covered her mouth, her laugh wasn't that annoying now, I didn't know why it was annoying before, but it was kawaii (All weebs/anime watchers know what it means! Am I right? The ones who don't- Cute.)

"Rumi... That was me trying to make my friends laugh!" She finished almost choking on her own laugh.

"Wait... what now?" My mind was completely blank.

"I was trying to entertain my friends... by being that cliche girlfriend everyone hates." she finished.

"So all that... that was just you trolling me?!"

"Kinda."

"Well that's just... dumb isn't it!"

"Awww... Sorry Rumi! Did you think someone has fallen head over heels for you?" Her not so squeaky voice was clearly mocking me.

"No... ahem. Nope!" I hid my red flustered and annoyed face from her, 'You're so dumb!' Even my mind is mocking me now! And that 'Awww' why was it so cute!!!!! 'Focus! You dumbass! Focus'

"But still... why would you lower your image like that just for your friends?!"

She sighed and gave me the same eye roll I was accustomed to by now. "I sometimes forget that men are so shallow, that they do not understand a thing that happens to us!" she shook her head in (I actually don't know! I think she's mocking me. I think!)

"I don't think you know how hard life is when your parents are rich, who don't have the time to talk to you, but are fully invested in your security." she gestured towards a person in a suit and sunglasses. "A person who follows you almost everywhere!"

I take a closer look at him, and remember him shadowing Sasha wherever she went. Once I even confronted him, but Sasha hooked her hand around my waist and pulled me away from him. But the most important question here is... Why the hell do all bodyguards gotta wear a suit and sunglasses?? Isn't it harder to fight while wearing a suit? 'Focus Rumi!!!'

"I kinda knew something was fishy when you practically jumped on me, when i was confronting him." I chuckled, while she hid her face with her ombre hair. Why does she look so cute now?!

"So a loner like me could only get friends by doing dumb things and being stupid... Sorry for dragging you into it.'' She dug her head in the pit made by her hands.

I held her hands, and softly pressed them, "You're not alone anymore Sasha, I'm here!"

She looked up, her eyes glistening in the afternoon sun, "Ughh how cliche can you be Rumi!!" She giggled.

My hands slipped from the table, "And here I thought that I was comforting you!"

"Well you kinda did..."

"Thank you thank you!"

"Lemme finish!" I could almost see the devil in her eyes, "You were hella creepy while doing it! Holding hands?! Then what was that line?! You've been watching a lot of cliche romantic movies haven't you!! I never thought I'd see your dull side Rumi!" She smirked, she really was the devil's pawn!

"Aight! No more good guy Rumi for you!"

"Oh no! What will I do?" Her sarcastic voice mocking me, "Please have mercy on me!!"

"What happened madam?" The bodyguard came rushing towards us, "what is this man doing?" he suddenly grabbed my collar and tried pulling me up. At that moment I thought Levi's were stronger, but one pull from this giant and my sleeves just ripped off, I could still see one lonely strand floating in the air.

Although it was displeasing me, Sasha was overjoyed. So much that her laugh actually made me happy inside. (Control Rumi! Control!)

"what the hell man!!" I shouted "I just bought that today!!" Seb will be furious.

"You bought that, especially for this date?" she gasped. "Oh my, how thoughtful, Rumi." She giggled.

"I'm really sorry sir, I shouldn't have pulled your clothes." the man in black apologised.

"Ya think!"

"I owe you an apology, and he does too. Sorry Rumi, what can we do for you?" For the first time Sasha was genuinely asking me that.

I was furious at that time, but a really uneasy and almost devilish scheme formed in the scary mind of mine, and with that thought a small grin crawled across my lips.

This is the best thing that has ever happened to me! (Is what I thought at the moment, I clearly shouldn't have!)
