Chapter 4- A Visitor in the Night

(Ally's POV)

As soon as the intruder closed the door, I grabbed him from behind and put my knife against his neck.

–One move, and your neck becomes two– I hear myself saying, although I don't even remember thinking about saying the words in the first place.

I walk him slowly to the kitchen, knife against neck. When we get there, I slam him against the wooden kitchen table. Damn! I didn't know I was this strong. His head hit sideways the wooden surface and made his brown hair shake and his glasses fall out of his face.

–I thought you would recognize me, parted lips– the boy says flashing a smirk.

That shook me. I relaxed my grip and put the knife away from his neck and back in my jacket. Could he be? No. It couldn't be. Duster's hair was blonde and this guy had light brown hair. Duster's eyes were blue, and this guy had deep grey eyes that under the kitchen's lights looked very pretty. He actually was very handsome. Wait. Stop! Focus.

–You're not Duster–I say determined.

–You're right– he says while maintaining his smirk. He turns around and puts on a blond wig and two blue eye-lenses. He faces me and says– This is Duster.

Holy f*ck! Was he actually faking. I can't believe it. He takes the wig and the eye-lenses off and puts his glasses on. He's so HOT! When he raises his hand to fix his hair his shirt lifts up a little and I get a glimpse of his-his- his abs. OMG, he's hot as f*ck. I must've stared a little bit too long because he makes eye contact and winks at me. I can already feel the heat in my cheeks rise up. I take one last look and bite my lower lip.

–Is your name at least Noah?– I ask him still staring at his abs.

–You know it would help if you stopped looking at my stomach and into my eyes instead– he says while giggling. F*ck I'm blushing again.– My last name's Mills. Noah Mills.

–You meet the little menace right Ally?– Lyla says from the other end of the table while holding a cup of coffee. Sometimes I forget how stealthy she can be.

–Sis?– he asks excitedly.

–Come here you idiot– she says as he takes him into a very big hug.

–Can someone please explain to me what the f*ck's going on?– I say with my cheeks burning red still.

–Oh yeah. Ally, this is my brother Noah, who supposedly is at home with my mother. Why are you here, I thought you were staying for another year?

–Well sis, mom actually asked me to come, you're so silly.

I really hope my blushing isn't very obvious. Not every day you meet someone as sassy as... no focus Allison you need to go to sleep for tomorrow.

–Um, I'm g-g-going to go t-t-to b-b-bed– I say stammering and rushing out of the kitchen–. You can s-s-stay here a-an-and talk if you w-w-want to.

–You feeling okay Ally?– Lyla asks with just the right amount of worry in her voice.

–Um yeah, so bye, Noah– I finish with a last round of aggressive blushing when his name comes out of my mouth.

Just when I thought that I was off the hook, Lyla came down to the bedroom five minutes later after sending his brother off. She had that light in her eyes as if she was ready to fill me with questions.

–Save yourself the round Lyla, I'm not in the mood.

–You seriously expect me to see you almost drool at my brother's abs and not think that something's up.

–I wasn't drooling– I blush once again.

–The blushing reveals the truth.

–Okay fine, he's hot alright but I don't know.

–It's the first time someone associates the word "hot" with my brother. You definitely have a mega crush on him!

–What??? No, no, no. I just...– the blushing and my voice trembling stops me from talking.

–I'll have you set up for next week, don't worry, it's not the first time someone I know drools for my brother.

I would answer to that if I wasn't so tired. A few seconds later after Lyla says that I fall fast asleep.

I normally don't have weird dreams but this time, it was different.

I was standing in the middle of nothing, everything around me was complete darkness. Then I heard myself humming, although I wasn't making any sound. The humming became louder and louder until it seemed as if whatever was making the sound was right in front of me. Then everything felt cold, a stinging, suffocating coldness that engulfed me. Seconds after that sensation came, someone appeared in front of me. It was a livid copy of me, same height, same pointy nose, same bony arms. But the resemblance ended on the merely physical, the clone had a mean expression pressed into her face. Her eyes and hair were a pale blue, and she had her arms crossed on her chest, glaring at me.

–Who are you?– I ask, the sound of my voice echoes until it disappears. Then the clone smirked maliciously and spoke.

–Well, I'm not you although it looks like it. But listen up you moron, I will take this over, it's happened before and this time, I will succeed. Your family had been a very talented group since I met with your great grandma, but all of them until your mother were able to suppress me, keep me restrained! But you, you my darling, have no idea with what you're messing with. Next time, don't resist, it's so awesome when you finally let go and have me in. See you next time–she finishes as she fades off in smoke.

I wake up to a sweaty and panting version of myself, oddly enough, there's a thin layer of ice all over my bed.
