CHAPTER 26 KANE'S POV

I'm a hybrid, half-werewolf, and half-vampire.

My mother was a pure blooded vampire and my father was a werewolf. So that makes me an hybrid.

I can't believe these creatures exist.

I glare at her playfully for calling us, creatures.

she smiles at me, I'm sorry I meant "werewolves".

So do you kill humans and drain them dry?.

No, I don't. I drink animal blood, I'm not like the other vampires that drink human blood and kill them for fun.

Ariana, I'm sorry that you had to find out about me like this.

I should have told you when I had the chance to.

She holds my hand and gazes into my eyes.

relax kane, I'm sure you had your reasons for not telling me just yet.

yeah, it is but when you lose your mate, it kills you.

well, if anything has to happen to you, I would most certainly die this time, the pain of losing you would definitely kill me.

she was, when she died, I lost control of myself and my beasts, I was uncontrollable, I honestly thought I had completely lost my sanity.

if it wasn't for Amanda I would probably be dead by now, she was the only reason I had to live for. Then you came into the picture, you're my second chance mate. it's rare for some wolves to get two mates but I guess I was lucky. I say with a huge smile.

Do you miss her?.

who?. I ask.

I sigh and lean back on the chair. yes, I do miss her.

She was killed by your father!.

What?. she shouts, with her eyes widened. Why did he kill her?.

I have no idea myself. Anyways enough talking, you need to eat and have some rest afterwards.

ARIANA'S POV

kane is gone to get me something to eat.

everything he told me is unbelievable, I never thought for a moment that werewolves and vampires exist, I used to read books on them at the school library.

my whole life is now a fantasy, it seems so unreal but what surprised me most was kane, when I saw his vampire side, I was never afraid of him, something in me wanted to run to him and calm down his beast.

He was a real beast, the way he killed Tyler was ruthless but he done the right thing by doing that but I wished it was Andrew instead of Tyler.

I got you some chinese takeout, he says as he strides into the room with his hands full of take out bags.

Thank you, I hate hospital food, it tastes awful. I grimace at the thought of eating the food from here.

kane chuckles at me.

That's why I bought you these. he lifts the takeout bags in his hand.

since I can't eat, kane feeds me the food.

I moan and lick my lips at the taste of the food.

I glance at kane, I notice his eyes are now pitch black.

Kane, why is your eyes black instead of blue?.

That's because my wolf wants to mate with you.

I start to choke on my food.

Ariana, are you alright?. He shouts worrriedly.

here have some water, he feeds me the water.

I drink the entire bottle in one gulp.

Sorry about that. I apologize to him.

it's fine. he mumbles.

I think I had enough, I'm stuffed. I tell him as he continues to feed me.

ANDREW'S POV

I'm going to make sure he pays for killing my son, Tyler. He ruthlessly killed my son in front of my eyes, I couldn't do anything to save him. for that I'm going to go after his daughter this time.

That little brat got away this time, the next time I will make sure to finish her off once and for all but I'm going to leave her for now, my next target is kane's only heir, she's going to have a painful death.

I've heard from one of my spies that Nicole has been cought, she's in the dungeons. Before she tells kane everything about my plans. I need to get rid off her quick. I also need to find that witch that Nicole has been seeing, maybe she could help me get rid of Ariana and kane's daughter.

ARIANA'S POV

Kane is fast asleep on the chair, he looks so uncomfortable sleeping on it.

Kane, I call out softly.

Yes?. He answers grogily.

You should go home and rest, youre uncomfortable sleeping there. I point to the chair.

No, I'm fine and I don't want to leave you all alone in here.

I'll be fine by myself, you need some rest you've been here from yesterday.

I'm not leaving from here end of story.

I sigh. Okay. then sleep next to me, I pat the bed.

You sure?.

I nod.

The bed is quite big, I move a little further to give him some place.

Are you comfortable now?.

Yes.

Goodnight kane. I tell him.

Goodnight Ariana, he says as gives a peck on my lips.

He holds me and we both eventually fall asleep.

KANE'S POV

I wake up to the amazing scent of lavender and with an hint of honey.

I breath in her scent, it calms me and also drives me and my wolf crazy.

I watch as she sleeps, she's so beautiful and amazing. She's the best thing that ever happened to me apart from Amanda.

I haven't felt this way with my first mate, to be honest I was never quiet happy with Melissa, she always used to quarrel about every simple thing.

Ariana, is so much different from her, she's understanding, she has a lot of patience and also she's a great mother to Amanda.

How long have you been staring at me?.

From the time I woke up.

I get a mindlink from Adrian. He sounds nervous.
