CHAPTER 23 ARIANA'S POV

Kane has brought me into the woods. We stop by a huge lake. The entire forest is lit up with torches.

Is this place not dangerous?. I mean there could be wild animals roaming around that would probably eat us alive.

No, there aren't any wild animals around here. The place is fenced so that no animal or any person could get through. He answers.

Do you come here often?. I ask.

Whenever I get a chance to. I used to always come here when I was a kid.

Okay. I murmur.

Ariana, are you happy being with me?. He asks all of a sudden.

Well, I don't know how to answer to that but a part of me does feel happy being with you. I say to him whilst looking at the lake.

Want to go for a swim?. He offers.

No, thanks. it's a bit cold to do that.

He then starts to take off his clothes, I quickly turn my head to the other side.

You can look. He shouts from the water.

The water is fine, why don't you come join me.

Okay. I groan. I take off my coat and shoes and place them behind the tree. luckily I still have my shorts and tank top on.

I dip my feet into the water, the water is warm.

Kane holds my hand and takes me deeper into the lake.

He grips my waist and pulls me closer to him and kisses me.

We both pull out to get some air. He stares at me and pecks me on my lip.

I love you, Ariana. He says. I love you too. I blurt out.

Kane's eyes widen in shock. I then realize what I had said.

ANDREW'S POV

That little brat is still alive after I shot her, how is it possible that she's still alive yet she's human.

I had shot her twice, how could she had survived she also healed quite fast. That's quite odd.

I'm going to try killing her one last time. I assumed Nicole would get rid of her but instead, she's busy organizing a Luna ceremony. She's completely useless to me and dumb, she has no idea what Kane is doing at this very moment. He's trying to win over his mate. Very soon she will be gone for good and he will suffer for the loss of his second mate. I will make sure he pays for destroying my life.

I now have an entire army of rogues, that is going to help me take down kane and his entire kingdom.

Ive been watching every move of theirs.

tomorrow is the day my dear daughter will finally die. I'm going to destroy his life like how he had done to mine.

ARIANA'S POV

I and kane are walking back home. We both haven't said a word after I told him that I also love him.

It's true I finally realize that I love him, I know it's been such a short while that I declared my love for him but I feel I can trust him, something in me tells me that he's the one for me, that I was born to be with till the day I die.

We've now reached home I go up to my bedroom and go straight into the shower.

When I come out I see him laying on my bed.

what are you doing here?.

I was missing you, so I came to spend the night with you.

KANE'S POV

she just stands there and stars at me with wide eyes.

don't get me wrong, what I meant was that I wish to sleep next to you tonight.

I tap her side of the bed for her to come lay down.

I pull her close to my chest and breath in her amazing scent.

I hope you don't mind me invading your space.

Nah, it's okay. she replies.

you know, I'm glad that I met you Ariana.

me too, kane. she says as she yawns.

I give her a peck on her cheek, she soon falls asleep.

I'm fortunate to have a second chance mate, it's very rare that you have two mates.

ARIANA'S POV

The next morning. I wake up with Kane's arm draped around my waist and I'm facing him. I glance at the clock on the wall it's 10 am.

Shit. I curse. Emilia is most probably waiting for me. We planned to go shopping today.

I try to push Kane's arm off of me but I can't cause it's too heavy.

An idea then pops into my head.

I kiss him on his lips. His eyes are now wide open and staring at me in surprise. He beams at me.

I only did that so you would wake up. I'm going out with Emilia, we're going shopping.

Okay. I'll send two guards with you.

Is that really necessary?. I ask.

Yes, it is. I have no idea where your psycho father is, I'm certain he's planning to hurt you again. I'm sending these guards to protect you in case anything happens.

Fine. I'm going to get ready.

kane suddenly yanks me on top of him.

I need to hurry, Emilia is going to have a fit if I don't meet her on time.

don't worry about her, she can wait.

I jab him in his chest. I need to go kane.

alright. go ahead and get ready, I'm taking you out again tonight.

where?.

it's surprise.

okay. I mutter and make my way to the bathroom to get ready.

An hour later. I, Amanda, and Emilia are shopping at a mall that's almost near to Kane's place.

kane had given me his credit card to use, I refused him but he insisted that I use it.

I've picked a few outfits and two pairs of shoes for myself.

Amanda is having fun selcting clothes for herself.

When we're done shopping, we head to the diner to have lunch.

I get this weird feeling that someone is watching me. I take a look around my surroundings my eyes then catch sight of the one person that I never wanted to see ever again, Andrew.
