CHAPTER 22 ARIANA'S POV

I gape at kane surprised, he just confessed his love for me. I don't know what to say to him but deep down I also love him but I can't tell him that right now. What if he does the same thing that Mason had done to me.

No, I can't be fooled again. I won't let it happen.

I push him away and walk up to my room.

Ariana. he calls out. I stop and twist my head around to look at him.

I'm not like Mason. I would never hurt you. I'm in love with you, I am. I would never lie to you about something like that. please give us a chance. He looks at me pleadingly.

I sigh. Fine, I'll give you an answer tomorrow. I leave him standing there alone whilst I walk up to my room.

What am I doing?. My ex-boyfriend just broke up with me because he loves someone else and I make out with another guy instead of bawling my eyes out because Mason had just broken my heart and to top it off kane confesses his love to me.

I'm just so confused, I'm not sure what to do.

I want to be with kane that's for sure but I'm afraid of him. He's nothing like Mason, kane is a bit cold and arrogant.

would I be able to spend my life with a person like him. I wonder.

I woke up the next morning with the sun hitting onto my face. I rise from the bed and make my way to the bathroom.

I put on a black jean shorts and a pink tank top, I slip on my white converse. I apply some gloss to my lips and leave my hair open.

When I enter the kitchen I see kane preparing breakfast.

Do you need some help?. I ask him.

He twists his head around and glances at me.

No, thank you. I'm almost done. He answers.

When will Amanda be back?.

Tomorrow evening.

Okay. I mutter.

I help, lay the breakfast in the dining room table. We both sit and eat in awkward silence.

So have you thought about it?.

Sorry, what?.

Have you thought about what I asked you last night?.

Oh yes, I did.

So what's your answer?.

My answer is yes. I will give us a chance.

Thank you. You will never regret it. he says happily.

I hope not.

Trust me, Ariana, I will not hurt you.

anyway, I'd like to spend the day with you here at home, just the two of us. I want us to get to know each other.

yeah, that will be great.

KANE'S POV

Me and Ariana are watching a movie in the living room.

she's so glued to the tv that she doesn't even know I'm now sitting right next to her, gaping at her.

I touch her thigh to get her attention. she looks at me startled. God you scared me kane. she pauses the movie and focuses her attention on me. she raises her brow at me.

I want the two of us to talk. I tell her.

okay. she mumbles and switches the tv off.

she stares at me, what do you want to talk about?. she inquires.

Tell me about yourself and your family.

she sighs. well, I have two siblings, which you very well know of. I have an abusive father that hates my guts and a caring and loving mom, well she's my aunt. she treats me like I'm her daughter.

where's your biological mother?.

she's dead, I never got to meet her. she confesses.

oh, I didn't know. I'm sorry to hear that. I tell her.

Nah, it's fine. I don't think my real mom could love me the way my aunt does.

so tell me about you?. where's your family?. she asks.

my parents died in an accident, I'm the only child. I sometimes miss having them around.

I know, I miss my mom a lot, I haven't seen her since the time we had gotten "married".

would you like to meet her?.

of course. I would love to. she says cheerfully.

okay, I'll take you to her tomorrow.

really?.

yeah. I reply.

she unexpectedly hugs me. thank you so much kane, you don't know how much this means to me.

I'll do anything for you, Arianna.

she pulls away and stares at the ground.

sorry. she whispers.

I pull her to my lap. she widens her eyes at me and tries to get off. I grip her waist firmly.

she's now straddling on my lap with her head bowed down.

I pick up her chin with my index finger.

I notice how pink her cheeks are. she's probably embarrassed. I gently grip the back of her neck to pull her closer to me. I give her a long and sensual kiss.

Mark her and make her ours. Luke says to me.

I ignore him and continue kissing Ariana.

she pulls away to catch her breath.

the living room door burst open. Amanda strides in. Mom, dad. Amanda screams excitedly. I still have Ariana in my lap.

let go of me. she mutters.

No. I say to her firmly.

Amanda!. I hear Emilia shouting.

Emilia walks in. when she sees Ariana on my lap she halts.

Ariana!. She squeals and tackles her to the floor from my lap.

Emilia, get off her now!. I shout.

I shove Emilia aside and pick Ariana up from the floor. I'm sorry about her, she's my cousin Emilia.

I know who she is, we use to study together in the same college. Ariana says while she grins at Emilia.

we were best friends. Ariana exclaims.

OH. I'll put Amanda to bed in the meantime you two can catch up.

she nods. before I leave I whisper into her ear so that only she could hear me. when Emilia leaves we'll finish what we started.

Ariana looks embarresed, I notice her cheeks are pink once again. she smiles at me.

I leave the both of them to chat whilst I spend some time with Amanda.

ARIANA'S POV

I'm so happy that I've seen Emilia. we talked for hours until kane came.

Me and Emilia will be going out tomorrow to do some shopping.

she told me I made a good decision by giving kane a chance. She also said that he will never hurt me in anyway.

I'm in my room, laying on my bed staring at the ceiling, thinking about kane.

I hear a soft knock on my door pulls me out of my thoughts. I get up from the bed and open the door to see kane about to knock again.

Do you need something?. I ask.

Can we go for a stroll?.

Right now?.

Yea. If only you would like to.

Okay, give me a moment let me slip on my shoes and coat.

Sure, I'll wait for you downstairs.

Twenty minutes later, me and kane are walking into the woods.
