CHAPTER 20 ARIANA'S POV

We're still at the movies, Amanda is now watching her second movie. She seems to be having fun. She deserves it after what happened earlier on. It's good to see her smile and be happy.

Kane went to get more snacks for her. She's enjoying herself.

I smile at the text Mason had sent me. He sent me a picture of him and me.

Kane's back with a lot of junk food in his hand. He offers me but I politely refuse. He places everything next to Amanda and comes back to his seat. I place my phone on my lap and focus on the movie. My phone buzzes. Another text from Mason.

KANE'S POV

Her phone keeps on ringing every minute. That pup can't seem to stay away from my mate. I don't know how to get rid of him. An idea suddenly pops into my head. An evil smile forms on my lips. I mindlink my beta with the details of my plan. Tomorrow I'll be putting my plan into action.

I brush my arm against Ariana intentionally. She turns and stares at me for a moment. I'm sure she can feel the sparks. My wolf is screaming in my head to kiss her. I move closer to her and gently pull her head forward.

I can hear her heart start to beat faster and her breath hitches. My lips brush against hers.

Mom, dad?. We both pull away hearing Amanda's voice.

Yes, angel. I answer her. The movie is finished, we can go home now.

I groan, she ruined the moment but I'll still have many more chances.

Okay then, let's go. I glance at Ariana she looks flustered, her cheeks are pink.

We make our way to the car, I plop Amanda in her seat and buckle her up. Ariana is about to jump in the back next to Amanda but I stop her. Sit at the front with me, please. I say to her. She nods. I open the car door for her.

I then get inside and start the car. Did you have fun today, Amanda?.

Amanda?. I call out. She's asleep. Ariana tells me.

Okay. I mumble. Did you have a good time?.

Yes, I did. She says as she turns to look at Amanda. She's such an amazing kid.

Yes, she is. I admit.

I squeeze her hand gently and hold it. She looks at me and tries to pull her hand away but I have it in a tight grip.

Ariana, I say as I look in front and drive.

please give me a chance to prove myself to you. I'm not the man you think I am. At least for Amanda's sake, she needs a mother's love and only you can give her that. You don't have to give me an answer right now, I'll give you some time. She nods in response.

We've just reached home and Adrian mind linked me informing me that Nicole is annoying the hell out of him by asking where I am.

I carry Amanda out of the car and enter the house with Ariana following behind me. I put Amanda to bed and tell Ariana that I won't be here, but the next morning.

I knock on her bedroom door and walk-in. She's in the bathroom. I guess she's having a shower. I stand on her balcony and wait for her to come out. A moment later she steps out with a towel wrapped around her body

My eyes travel up and down her body. Kane!. What are you doing here?. I quickly snap out of my thoughts and stare at her face.

What do you want?. I came to tell you that I'll only be back in the morning, I have someplace important to go to. She's making it hard for me. I think she forgot she was standing in front of me with just a towel wrapped around her. I move closer to her and I was just about to kiss her when my beta mind links me again. Alpha, where are you?. Nicole is going crazy, please get here as soon as possible. I'll be there shortly. I respond.

I have to go, I'll see you in the morning. I give her a peck on her lips and leave the room.

I arrive at the packhouse in my wolf form. I run-up to my room to change and have a shower. I can't stop thinking of Ariana. A smile forms on my lips, as I think about how we spent the day together with Amanda.

When I open the bathroom door to enter my bedroom, my smile immediately changes into a scowl.

Nicole is laying on my bed in a thin visible gown. What do think you're doing Nicole?.

She gets up and takes slow steps towards me, she puts her hand around my neck and brings my face closer to hers.

I've missed you kane, so I decided to come to spend the night with you.

I'm not in the mood and I have a lot of paperwork that's pending. I remove her hand from my neck and shove her aside.

Kane, why are you acting like this?.

What do you mean?.

You seem different after you've returned. Are you having doubts about me being your luna?.

No, of course not. Why would I?

Listen I have to go get some work done at the office, I'll see you later.

Okay, I'll be waiting for you. I roll my eyes mentally.

I quickly leave the room and lock myself in my office.

I'm trying to get enough work done so I can spend more time with Ariana and Amanda.

My beta knocks on the door, I wake up and unlock the door.

He takes a seat in front of my desk.

Adrian the reason I called you here is that I need you to follow Nicole wherever she goes. You're the only person that can do this. I was supposed to do it myself but then I need to get Ariana to accept the mate bond.

Don't stress Alpha. I'll do it. He says as he wakes up to leave.

Oh, there's one more thing I needed to inform you about alpha.

Go ahead. It's about Alpha Mason.

What about him?.

I've brought the person to get the job done.

Great. He nods and leaves the office.

Everything's going to be exactly the way I want it to. Soon I'll have my beautiful mate in my arms.
