The Hunter's Mate

I grew older knowing supernatural creatures. For example, I could tell a vampire if I see one. It was strange that I was more powerful than any of them. At first, I thought I was one of them but the more I studied about them, the more it gave me reasons to doubt that I was like them. I gave up trying to find the race I belonged to, so I went about my daily life living like humans. But my world began to crumble when I found my mate. He is a warlock of the witch's coven and one of the mermaid hunters. Through him, I started to find who I really am and my purpose on earth.

I fought with the siren

Chapter 12: I fought with the Siren.

~Elena's POV~

It didn't take long before we queued up in the line of people all standing and waiting to get into the cinema. Molly couldn't hide enough of her excitement, this was her favorite movie and i'm happy she liked it.

I was lost looking at how Tyson and she talked happily when a smell knocked into my nostrils. It was two different smells which I knew ofcourse one was from Stefan and the other, a familiar smell though I didn't know where it was coming from, and when I looked, and searched tirelessly and saw her. The Siren.

She was very far from us, and she was looking at me. She stood in between two cars and she covered her hair. "Ellie." Molly called me and I looked at her. "Stefan and his girlfriend are here. Will you be comfortable?" She whispered. I looked and saw Stefan with Wendy coming. When Wendy saw me, she had herself clung to him like a gum. I felt so sullen and I boiled inwardly and clenched my fist.

A hand touched my shoulder and I looked, I found Molly smiling reassuringly at me but it didn't stop me from getting angry at the way she was clinging to my Stefan. What the fuck was that?. Why do I feel like killing her?. I removed my eyes from Molly when I remembered I saw the Siren a while ago, I looked again and didn't find her anywhere.

We ignored Stefan and her girlfriend and walked into the Cinema. I couldn't take my eyes off them as we sat and watched the movie display. Molly wasn't looking at me now, she was so engaged right now, same with me who was also engaged in watching Stefan and his girlfriend.I was fed up, I could not endure, I stood up and left.

I was walking alone in the dark street beside the cinema when a hand dragged me and pushed me to the wall of the cinema. I almost shouted but the hand was in the way of my mouth. The person removed the hood and a young beautiful girl stood looking at me. I pushed her away angrily. She kicked me out of the dark and I fell in the middle of the street. Her eyes turned deep blue and her hair fluttered behind as she came on me with another punch on my face.

"Not on my fucking face." I kicked her tummy and she groaned and fell backwards on the floor. She slowly got up and ended up slacking down to the ground. "Siren." I said.

"Who are you?" She asked, trying to get up. I was already on my feet and I started walking toward her body on the floor. She was looking intently at me as I came down to her level. "And what did you do to me?. " She asked, growling in pain.

I made her weak and she can't stand unless I release her, I smiled. "You can't fight me, Siren. You are no match for me but then, be careful on how you come at me. I'll not spare you if you ninja punch my face again." I touched her neck and her power was restored.

She stood up and vanished in a flash. I turned to go back and found Stefan in front of me. I gasped, "What the fuck was that?." I asked. I was afraid. He just popped up on my face.

He hugged me. Okay, what's the meaning of this?. Although I felt comfortable with his body, I wasn't sure I'm comfortable with him here. Was he there all along?.

"Are you okay?. Did she hit you that hard?." I smiled awkwardly. His eyes held so much care for me. "I'm fine. " I said to him.

He bit my ear lobe and I almost lost balance, twinkles and fireworks surrounded us. I can't think straight right now, he disengaged from the hug and touched my face, the place the stupid Siren hit me. I winced out of pain, I am human and I ought to feel that way.

"That bitch hurt you, she will pay." He said with a big scowl across his face. He looked so evil right now. I shifted away from him. "What was that?" I blurtly asked.

"The being that attacked you now?. You don't wish to know." Though this is not what I asked him, I focused on what he said just now. "You know them?"

He ignored me and started walking back but not without dragging me along. I hate it when he does that. He was obviously snubbing. "Tell me." I insisted and dragged out my hand away from his. Which I'd regret now.

"This is not the time, Ellie." Calling out my name wasn't a big deal, but the way he called me, I felt butterflies in my stomach. I was happy when he called me and I wished he continued calling my name. For the record, this is the first time he was calling me by my first name.

His hand walked itself to my waist and he dragged me to himself. I ended up hitting my head on his hard chest. I looked up to his face, mehn this man was simply beautiful. "You ask a lot, little mate." His cool breath swept across my face as he spoke. He just called me his mate.

"I want to know now." I rushed my words. He came nearer and pecked my forehead. I loved how his warm kiss met my forehead. "You're beautiful, gorgeous. You look extremely cute when you pout your lips like that. I'll tell you about us later, but now..isn't the time."

He walked behind me holding both my hands at my sides while I was resting my head on his broad chest. I closed my eyes and smelt him, his smell made me fulfilled and for a while he pushed my worries and problems away.

"Ellie." Molly called me. I opened my eyes and looked in her direction. "What are you doing all alone in the dark?" She asked me. I turned back and didn't find Stefan. He was gone, vanished into thin air.

"I love the air over here." I told her as she came nearer. "Tyson is waiting for us in the car. Let's go." She said and we started walking away.
